WEEK 3 RECAP

Rams get routed by Rodger's and the rest of the Packers

10 l 7 l 10 l 17 l 44
0 l 3 l 6 l 0 l 9

St. Louis (AP) -- Its never a good sign when your team is booed, its even more embarassing when it is by your own fans and on your property. All that happened to the Rams as they got beat at home by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. "Though we lost three games already, this one has hurt the most" rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said, "we came into this game expecting to win our first game with all the support we was getting at home".

The Rams defense looked good from the start of things as they held the packers offense to two straight three and outs. The defense also manage to pressure the quarterback as they got to Aaron Rodgers six times. "We try to contain Aaron by hitting him but he is just too strong physically and mentally to be slowed down. He was making accurate throws down the field even after getting hit," James Laurinaitis said.

St. Louis visits Candlestick Park next week to play NFC West rivals San Francisco 49ers (2-1). Steve Spagnuolo was quoted as saying, "We will work hard this week to see what we can do as a team to win. I'm going to review films of the three games we've played so far and put the together the positives and work on the negatives. We are a very young group and I see a 'helluva' lot space for improvement".

WEEK 4 RECAP

Rams gets first win of the year

3 l 7 l 0 l 11 l 3 l 24
7 l 7 l 0 l 7 l 0 l 21

St. Louis (AP) -- Coach Steve Spagnuolo and the St. Louis Rams were all smiles on the ride back home after Sunday's game. Spagnuolo had won his first game as a head coach in the NFL and the Rams had also clinched its first victory of the year in 4 tries. "It feels very great after winning a football game in the NFL. Winning on the road made it special, no disrespect to our home fans. All we have to do now is focus on next weekend hope to take this winning attitude with us," Spagnuolo said in his post game press conference.

St. Louis battled it out with their rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, up to the dying seconds of an overtime thriller. Both teams looked matched in almost every statistical category. Both teams pass for almost the same amount of yards. The rushing yards was as matched as the passing yards. One category was left up for grasp as a potential game winner, it was the defense. Even though not by much, the Rams defense was the better D on the day.

St. Louis will be at home to face Brett Favre and the 1-3 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday October 11, 2009 in a 1:00 PM kickoff.

Jaguars get better of Rams in shootout

7 l 7 l 0 l 14 ll 28
7 l 7 l 7 l 21 ll 42

St. Louis (AP) -- St. Louis, for the first time all year, was able to score more than three touchdowns in a single game; but too bad Jacksonville had some in keeping too. Marc Bulger, St. Louis Rams quarterback, had been struggling to throw touchdown passes all year. He had only 5 along with 11 interceptions before the game but manage to throw 4 touchdown passes and got picked off once. His feat was matched by Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, David Garrard 4 touchdowns and one interception thrown. Jacksonville also had decent success running the ball while St. Louis struggled again. Maurice Jones-Drew run the ball 29 times and collected 152 yards for Jacksonville while his counterpart, Steven Jackson, manage only 36 yards on 13 carries.

"Our offensive gameplan worked but the defense was off for the most part today. Every time they got in our redzone they scored a touchdown. We did not put enough pressure on their quarterback. There was a play where he stood comfortably in the pocket for about 10 seconds and still manage to scramble and gain some good yardage. We will address these issues over the week and come out next week looking for the win."Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said after yesterday's game.

St. Louis will be at home next Sunday when Peyton Manning and the Colts pay them a visit. Indianapolis will be coming off their bye week and currently have a 3-2 record.

Re: THIRD & LONG: A ST. LOUIS RAMS FRANCHISE

This is very well put together! I applaud you for sticking it out even though you are not having a good season, but it's to be expected that you are struggling. Most of the franchises on here are win every game type of thing. Reading game recaps are not the most fun parts of the diary to read for me. If someone guts a team makes a bunch of trades right away, then wins every game there is not much for me to get into. It's how you build the team in a way it would really happen and the choices made. Keep it up!!!

WEEK 7 RECAP

Rams offense takes day off but defense gets the job done

St. Louis (AP) -- After getting called out for last week's loss, St. Louis defense showed up yesterday. It was essential they put together a good performance because their offense took a day off. The entire Rams offense manage only 162 total yards. The Rams defense despite allowing a season high 503 yards of total offensive yardage to the Colts, manage to force 7 turnovers which is uncharacteristic of both the Colts offense or Rams defense. "We had guys out there that were willing to kill to win this one. We knew it was time to reward our fans with at least one win in our own backyard, with all the love they've shown us here," OJ Atogwe said after the game.

St. Louis will visit the 2-4 Detroit Lions on Sunday. "With no disrespect to the Lions and all its fans, this maybe the one game we are label as favorites and not our usual 'underdog' tag. We will address this game the way we've address every game this season nad hope we come out smiling when its all said and done," Steve Spagnuolo said of his upcoming schedule.
