WEEK 11 RECAP

Cardinals overcomes 17-point deficit

7 l 10 l 0 l 14 l 31

St. Louis (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams came out shooting as Donnie Avery took the opening kickoff 98 yards for a score. A Josh Brown field goal and Marc Bulger touchdown pass has St. Louis up 17-0 with 3:18 to go in the first quarter. The Arizona Cardinals responded when Kurt Warner hit Sean Morey in the endzone right before the end of the first period. St. Louis watched as Arizona slowly tied the game before the halfway mark and also kept them off the scoreboards for two straight quarters.

St. Louis took the lead in the 4th quarter with a Josh Brown field goal, after both teams went scoreless in the 3rd quarter. With 7:53 to go Matt Leinart, replacing the injured Kurt Warner, connected with Anquan Boldin at the back of the Rams endzone for a score to take their first lead of the game. Rams quarterback Marc Bulger was picked off by Adrian Wilson and the versatile safety increased his team lead to two scores.

St. Louis quickly drove down the field and decided to kick the field goal on 4th and inches, down by eleven, on Arizona's 28 yard line. The decision looked genius seconds later as St. Louis recovered the onside kick and went down the field; but they couldn't manage to get into the endzone.

St. Louis lost wide receiver Keenan Burton to injury as he was carted off in the 4th quarter. Burton leads the team in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions. Burton has caught 57 passes this year for over 700 yards and 4 touchdowns. He will likely sit out for up to four weeks.

Re: THIRD & LONG: A ST. LOUIS RAMS FRANCHISE

Haha well at least it looks like you might be able to steal a few wins within your division, the NFC West is not looking good. Keep it up man, this 'chise is making me want to start one up on the board once the new patch drops.

Rams sneak out victory against rivals

St. Louis (AP) -- Edwards Dome erupted after yesterday's game, the St. Louis Rams might still be in the race for the NFC West crown. The Rams made a statement as they inch out a 5 point win over division leaders Seattle Seahawks. "Many people has written us off but I keep twlling my guys there is more to play for." Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "We've still got two division games left games and to win your division in this league you have to win the games within your division. I'd like to give props to our defensive unit for stepping up big time today and also to our offensive guys for making plays when needed."

St. Louis was held to just under 200 yards of total offense, 21 gained on the ground and 178 passing yards. The Rams converted once on 13 third down attempts. Their defense made the difference forcing two turnovers, one of which was taken back for a touchdown. The defense allowed Matt Hasselbeck to connect with his receiver for a 41 yards touchdown on 4th down in the 2nd quarter; but they came up big with a 4th down stop late in the 4th quarter to seal the win.

Chicago gets 21-20 win over St. Louis

0 l 14 l 3 l 3 l 20
0 l 21 l 0 l 0 l 21

St. Louis (AP) -- Chicago Bears scored 21 points in the 2nd quarter of yesterday's game and that was all they needed. St. Louis Rams couldn't overcome the damage the damage done against them in that 2nd quarter. Though they scored 14 points in the 2nd quarter too, St. Louis only manage 6 points the rest of the game. "We had some costly turnovers,"Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said of his quarterback's three interceptions thrown. "We didn't capitalize on their shortcomings. We'll have to reach the endzone frequently next time. That was the one thing they did better than us.

Both offenses were held to under 300 total yards of offense, and both quarterbacks didn't reach the 200 passing yards mark on the day.Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears quarterback, only had one turnover; while his counterpart, Marc Bulger, turned it over three different times. Matt Forte and Steven Jackson topped the century mark running the ball for Chicago and St. Louis respectively.
