Athens, GA - After a rebuilding year last year, it looks as if the Georgia Bulldogs will be rebuilding once again this year, due to the loss of quarterback, Joe Cox. However, Mark Richt thinks otherwise. "Aaron Murray is a very good quarterback. He was very impressive in spring practice and the spring game. He knows expectations at the University of Georgia are high, and the quarterback position is very good historically, here." Coach Richt will be releasing the depth chart during tomorrow evenings press conference.
Athens, GA - Athens, Georgia is rocking after a 50 to 7 victory over Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns. Washaun Ealey was a work horse for the Dawgs, carrying the ball 37 times for 184 yards and a touchdown. The Dawgs got off to a slow start in the first quarter, but turned it up a notch to start the second quarter. Coach Richt was pleased with his performance by redshirt freshman, Aaron Murray, who had three total touchdowns and an interception off of a reciever tipped ball. When coach Richt was asked about third down conversion concerns, he simply stated, "You can't win ball games against SEC teams when you only convert 5 out of 15 conversions. Our guys know that, and we will discuss how we can raise that average in our team meeting tomorrow afternoon." The Bulldogs look to start 1-0 in SEC play against the hated, South Carolina Gamecocks.
