Re: Temple Owls - Battle back to the Big East (NCAA 11)

Temple Owls vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

Game Notes

- Another game played in the rain. Temple traveled to one of the toughest places in the country to play college football.

- Temple struck early and was able to keep the game close throughout the first half. With the game tied and halftime it looks as if Temple actually had a chance to win.

- Kevin Newsome was injured after being sacked late in the first quarter and didnt return to the game till after halftime.

- Temple had a lot of problems with tackling. It seemed no matter who had the ball, they were able to break away from Temple's defense with ease.

- Chester Stewart stepped up and played one of his better games of the year. After leading his team to a surprising tie at halftime he just wasnt able to keep the momentum going after halftime.

- Bernard Peirce had his worst game of the season and was shut down my Penn State's defense for most of the afternoon.

-Evan Royster had a huge game for Penn State. He broke tackles almost every time he got his hands on the ball.

Photo Highlights

E. Royster on his way to his first of three touchdowns for the day.

M. Balasavage makes a nice over the shoulder catch and hangs on to it after being hit.

J. Nixon and B. Peirce celebrate Nixon's TD catch.

K. Newsome is sacked K. Griffin and injured late in the 1st quarter.

C. Drake uses his facemask to help with the catch while barely staying in bounds.

E. Royster finishes off a long TD run late in the game to put the game out of reach.

Re: Temple Owls - Battle back to the Big East (NCAA 11)

Temple Owls vs. Army Black Knights

Game Notes

- Temple came into this game knowing they needed to win or they were facing a losing season possibly. The game went into a third overtime but eventually Temple pulled off the victory.

- Army ran the option all game long with varied success. Temple was able to shut down most plays, but a few were able to break through and go for long yards.

- Temple's D-line was able to put a hurting on T. Steelman. The Owls defense had 6 sacks during the game.

- Chester Stewart struggled with his pass accuracy again and threw 4 interceptions during the game. The junior quarterback continues to struggle with finding open receivers.

- Bernard Pierce put together another strong performance with 3 touchdowns. He is without a doubt the bright spot on the Owls offense this season.

- After playing though 2 overtimes and still not having a winner Temple scored during the 3rd overtime. They missed the 2 point conversion though and their defense had to step up. Step up they did, forcing a fumble when T. Steelman tried to run an option and then recovering it to win the game.

Photo Highlights

E. Rodriguez goes airborne to make a magnificent catch.

B. Pierce forces his way into the endzone during the 1st quarter.

A. Robinson lays a big hit on T. Steelman for the sack.

M. Brown finds a huge hole to run through and takes it all the way.

M. Brown shakes a Army defender to find his way to the endzone in OT.

M. Beatty picks up the fumble to end the game in OT.

Re: Temple Owls - Battle back to the Big East (NCAA 11)

Temple Owls vs. Northern Illinois Huskies

Game Notes

- A big conference game for both teams early on in conference play. Temple came in knowing they needed to work hard on the road for the victory, and they did.

- Chester Stewart was able to keep himself out of trouble for the most part today, having only 1 interception. He is still tied for the league lead in interceptions.

- Bernard Pierce continued his terrific season with another great performance. He had a touchdown through the air and on the ground today.

- Temple is back to .500 now with a 3-3 record after starting the season 1-3. A big conference win today renewed their hopes of winning the MAC.

- Adrian Robinson, who is one of the best D-Linemen in Div 1 this year had a poor day on the line. After last week he was 2nd in the league in both sacks and tackles. After his poor performance this week he will have to work hard to get back to the top.

- This is Temple's 2nd straight come from behind victory. Last week they were trailing Army at half and came back to win, this week they did the same.
