Re: New Mexico Plays Football? | New Mexico Lobos Dynasty (NCAA '12)

Editor's Note: It might be a day or two until this dynasty is set up and running. I enjoyed my Carolina Cruisers Dynasty, but as any of my readers know it just wasn't challenging enough. Hopefully now I have the right settings to have a challenging and enjoyable dynasty.

If anyone reading makes banners, I posted a banner request and appears the creator is MIA. So if anyone would be interested in creating a banner for the dynasty, let me know!

Report: Locksley To Stay

It was initially reported that Mike Locksley was to be replaced by Ashland Eagles Offensive Coordinator Brian Woodard. However, it has been discovered that those statements were false and we have retracted our earlier article. Even though Locksley is being retained for the 2011 season, it's likely he'll need a vast improvement from back-to-back 1-11 seasons in order to keep his job for future seasons.

Locksley grew up in Washington D.C. and went on to star as a Defensive Back for Towson University. After bouncing around a number of different coaching jobs he would stick with Maryland Terrapins for six seasons as an assistant before following Ron Zook to both Florida and Illinois. His ties to Illinois, Maryland, and the D.C. area can greatly be seen as the roster has 20 players from those areas. With a combined 6-30 record for the Lobos over the past three seasons, the heat is definitely on to win and to win now!
----------

Editor's Note: Previously I had made up a new coach to take over, but all of that had been written prior to starting up the dynasty. Due to the contents of the contract I felt it would be best to leave Locksley as the ring leader for another season.

ESPN College Football Preseason Preview

#116 - New Mexico Lobos

Mountain West Prediction: 8th

Unit Grades
Offense: D+
Defense: C-
Special Teams: C+
Overal: C-

Preseason All-MWC
PK James Aho - 1st Team
LB Carmen Messina - 2nd Team

Key Returning Players
WR Ty Kirk
TE Lucas Reed
DE Jaymar Latchison
LB Carmen Messina
SS Bubba Forrest
PK James Aho

Key Games
At #18 Arkansas
Vs Texas Tech
At #14 Texas Christian
At #8 Boise State

Analysis
Mike Locksley is probably down to his final year as the Lobos Head Coach and this schedule won’t help his cause to stick around. The Lobos do return All-MWC and highly sought after NFL prospect Carmen Messina at Middle Linebacker and they do have play maker Ty Kirk on offense. But honestly, that’s about it. This team is filled with a ton of freshmen and sophomores. Expect a bumpy ride. Expect a new ball coach in town come 2013.

Projected Finish: 2-10 (1-6, MWC)
