Re: Motor City Revival | A Detroit Lions Franchise (Madden 12)
New Life for Lions
Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson look to lead an explosive Lions offense.
Detroit, MI For years the Lions have been among the NFL's worst franchises. In 2008 the Lions became the first NFL franchise to go 0-16 in a season. They followed that up with a 2-14 season in 2009 and a 6-10 record in 2010. Winning just eight games in three seasons, the Lions had hit an all-time low. Obviously a team that bad has needs at virtually every position on the field. With the number one overall pick in the 2009 draft the Lions drafted what they hoped would be a franchise quarterback in Matthew Stafford. Unfortunately Stafford's inability to stay healthy has left questions as to whether or not they made the correct choice. The following season the Lions used the number two overall pick to select one of the most dominant defensive players in recent memory, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh out of Nebraska.
Detroit fans have an unfamiliar feeling of hope entering the 2011 season. In 2010 the team closed out the regular season with four straight wins and followed that up with an impressive 4-0 showing in the 2011 preseason. A young foundation of Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Jahvid Best, Brandon Pettigrew, and Titus Young on offense, and Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley, and Cliff Avril on defense have the Lions geared for future success. Of course there is still a sense of pessimism given the franchise's long history of futility.
In the last two years Detroit has drafted defensive tackles Suh and Fairley to give their defense an edge and toughness, an identity they've lacked for a very long time.

Re: Motor City Revival | A Detroit Lions Franchise (Madden 12)
I decided to sim up to week 12 to catch-up with the NFL season in real life. For the Lions I simmed until I got the same outcome in every game as in real life. Obviously I couldn't get the same scores but they beat and lost to the same teams, and are sitting at 7-4.
