Re: Back in Blackshirts - Nebraska Cornhuskers Dynasty (NCAA 13)

Andrew Green picks off the pass before dashing 41 yards for the score

Huskers humiliate Penn State

Lincoln, NEB. -- Today's meeting between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Penn State Nittany Lions was never really a contest. From start to finish the Huskers dominated every facet of the game.

Three different Huskers scored rushing touchdowns in the first quarter as Nebraska jumped out to an early 21 point lead.

Rex Burkhead and Taylor Martinez scored a second touchdown each in the second quarter to widen the margin to 35-0. Neither player would play a down after halftime.

If their was any hope of a comeback for Penn State in the 2nd half, it was quickly squashed as Andrew Green intercepted Matt McGlion on the second play of the 3rd quarter and took it 41 for the score.

Penn State did manage to avoid being shut-out with a 4th quarter field goal, but it provided little consolation as the final scoreboard read 52-3 in favor of the Huskers.

Martinez completed all seven of his passes for 108 yards and rushed 5 times for 75 yards and the two scores. Burkhead led the team with 123 yards and also scored twice. Even freshman Imani Cross got in on the score fest with a 44 yard TD run late in the game.

Nebraska will welcome the Minnesota Gophers to Lincoln next week. Minnesota holds a 3-7 record and is coming off a 37-10 loss to Illinois.

Re: Back in Blackshirts - Nebraska Cornhuskers Dynasty (NCAA 13)

Kenny Bell skies to catch a 42 yard pass from Taylor Martinez

Nebraska rolls past Minnesota easily

Lincoln, NEB. -- For the second straight week the Nebraska dominated a Big 10 foe. The Cornhuskers had no problem with the Minnesota Golden Gophers as they won in blowout fashion 45-6.

Rex Burkhead started off the Huskers scoring with a 3 yard TD run, the only points of the first quarter.

Nebraska took control of the game with a big second quarter. Mike Marrow scored the first TD of the quarter, after that it was all Taylor Martinez. Rushing for 2 touchdowns and passing for another Martinez accounted for 21 of the Huskers 28 points in the quarter. Minnesota did get on the scoreboard before halftime with a field goal to make the halftime score 35-3.

Ameer Abdullah opened the 2nd half with a 100 yard kickoff return touchdown, however, he suffered a back injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season.

Each team would add another field goal to make the final score 45-6 in favor of the Huskers.

The Huskers close out regular season play with a trip to visit the rival Iowa Hawkeyes who are coming off a tough 42-35 loss to the Michigan Wolverines.
