Arizona State outlasts Utah in overtime victory, 34-27

Tempe, AZ (AP) -- Arizona State ended their two game losing skid saturday, defeating the Utah Utes in overtime 34-27. With the score 13-10 in favor of the Sun Devils, Utah got the ball back, ready to take the lead. Jordan Wynn did a great job finding open receivers as the Utes drove down the field, and capped an impressive drive off with a 6 yard touchdown run by John White IV, giving them a 17-13 lead. But Arizona State answered right back, scoring on a 6 yard touchdown pass to take a three point lead with 5:21 left in the 4th. On the ensuing drive, Utah would drive down the field and with no time left on the clock,made a 26 yard field goal to send the game to overtime.
Arizona State won the coin toss and elected to play defense first. Utah came out strong wanting their third straight victory, and scored on a 11 yard touchdown pass from Wynn to Moeai. But Arizona State struck back on the first play on their ensuing drive, on a 25 yard touchdown pass, and after the extra point was successful, the game went into a second overtime. On third down of the next drive, Arizona State QB Mike Bercovici would hit a wide open Jamal Miles to give the Sun Devils the lead. The Utes would try a heave into the endzone on 4th down, but would be intercepted sealing the victory for ASU.
QB Jordan Wynn finished the day 19-27, for 217 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. His favorite target was TE Moeai who finished with 4 receptions for 41 yards, and a touchdown. HB John White IV rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown. The Utah Utes get a bye next week to rest themselves before taking on the #1 team in the country, the USC Trojans.
