Look out for something similar from me once I buy Madden 13. I've found rebuilding a team to be fun.

Game Notes
The 6-1 Washington Redskins are in Seattle to take on the 3-5 Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. This game was meant to be the battle of two quarterbacks between 1st overall pick Jake Way of Seattle and 11th overall pick Casey Austin of the Redskins. However, Austin went down with a season ending injury in the pre-season allowing undrafted QB in 2011 Buck Apostolopoulos to take the reins before he was injured for the season in Washington's 2nd game of the season at Philadelphia. Since then undrafted Price Walters out Virginia has played at Quarterback and he hasn't look back as he has led the Redskins to 5 wins and a loss in his seven starts with the help of Running Back Roy Helu. His opposite number, Jake Way played the best game of his professional career throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns in last week's 32-28 win over the previously unbeaten San Francisco 49ers.

The Redskins have been virtually unstoppable throughout the season, despite having numerous changes at quarterback which has disrupted the team's chemistry but they still have prevailed. Like Seattle, Washington are also rebuilding but no one expected them to be 6-1 at this point. The Seahawks are on a 3 game unbeaten run that has been down to Jake Way having multiple receiving options and completing them consistently. Their defense has also stepped up their game since the Week 5 loss to the Packers and have recorded the most sacks in the league.

These two teams have a very similar offense that is of the same ability. However, the Redskins' defense is a lot stronger than the Seahawks' as well as being turnover kings means Washington should come out on top in this one.

Prediction: Redskins 30, Seahawks 21

Re: Rebuilding the Hawks - A Madden 12 Franchise

REDSKINS EDGE OUT SEAHAWKS IN CLOSE ENCOUNTER

The Washington Redskins continued their near perfect season with a 31-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. The Redskins didn't have all their own way however, as Seattle had an answer to everything that was thrown at them as they stopped the run effectively in the first 3 quarters and their secondary caused Washington's receivers a lot of problems. On the other side of the ball, Seattle were consistent, as they found a nice balance between throwing and running the ball. Quarterback Jake Way had a good game despite throwing three interceptions. Those interceptions were through rookie error under pressure and nothing else. Way's opposite number, Price Walters had a quiet game only throwing 31 times for 19 completions as Washington favoured the run. Walters picked out the right pass at the right time. Despite this, the Seahawks' secondary will be kicking themselves as numerous passes from Walters should have been picked off.

Chuck Pagano spoke to the media after the game:

Quote:
"I thought we were unlucky today. I think we've now figured how to stop long rushing gains despite Helu's near 40 Yard rush to win them the game. But we still need to learn how to stop short gains. They got two 2 yard touchdown runs and allowing those is not acceptable. We lost Sidney Rice and Zach Miller for a couple of weeks which is a big blow for us but we have a bye next week so that won't hurt as much as it could have done."
The Redskins welcome the Giants to FedEx Field in Week 10 whilst Seattle have their bye week.

Game Notes
The 7-1 San Francisco 49ers face the 7-1 New England Patriots at Gilette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This game could potentially be a Super Bowl game in February with these two teams arguably the best in their conferences. The 49ers are coming off their bye week and will be looking for a win to retake top spot in the NFC off the Washington Redskins who lost Thursday vs. the Giants. The Patriots are coming off the back of a 21-0 shutout win over the Ravens and will be looking to cement their place at the top of the disastrously weak AFC with a win, as well as cementing themselves as the best team in the league.

The Patriots have developed a running game this season that is very effective. Rookie Running Back, Shaynon Gray was selected with the 40th overall pick which has decreased Tom Brady's workload. However, Brady leading the NFL in Touchdown passes with 22. He has thrown 17 of those 22 to Wes Welker who is having his best season to date. The 49ers also have a strong offense but its their defense that wins them the games. They are stacked with talent in every position and will be looking to use that to shut down the Patriots' deadly offense. They're missing veteran cornerback Carlos Rogers so Chris Culliver will be assigned Wes Welker. If the 49ers can stop Welker they'll be 3 quarters of the way to winning the game since the Pats are weak at WR and will deploy two tight ends. However, the talent of those tight ends Gronkowski and Hernandez should give Brady enough options to win New England the game.

Prediction: This game will be close but I think the Patriots will come out on top with a game winning field goal. 49ers 20, Patriots 23

Re: Rebuilding the Hawks - A Madden 12 Franchise

PATS BEAT 49ERS TO GO 8-1

The New England Patriots beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-13 at Gillette Stadium to go 8-1 and firmly establish themselves as Super Bowl favourites. The Pats didn't need Wes Welker, as he was limited to the one reception for 41 yards. Tom Brady was constantly troubled by the 49ers defense as he threw for 2 interceptions adding to his 2 passing touchdowns. Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski proved pivotal for the Pats as they recorded a touchdown each for a total 72 yards between them. The 49ers were unlucky to lose the game as they were the better team for most of the game as it came down to quarterback Alex Smith's accuracy as he only completed 19 of his 40 passes for 224 yards as he seemed to crumble every time he was in the redzone. His side was limited to 2 field goals in the redzone, as well as throwing an interception.
