Re: Return To Glory: A Miami Dolphins CCM (Madden 13)

I know we've only seen one game but it looks like you may need to up the minutes to 12 minutes with 20 seconds to get the amount of plays equal to NFL. Plus the total yards of the game was a little low as well.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to bump up the quarters.

In this week to matchup the Oakland Raiders (0-1) travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins (1-0). The key for this game will be the Raiders O-line vs the Dolphins D-line. The Dolphins dominated the Texans because of their d-line if they can do that again they should be able to shut down Darren McFadden and pick up another win. The Dolphins should have an easy time on offence if the Raiders play like they did last week. The Phins should look to get the ball to Davone Bess in the slot as he could do a lot of damage to Raiders secondary. On defense, the Dolphins need to worry about Oakland's speedy wide receivers. If Dolphins can keep them in front of them they should have an easy time defending the passing attack. The Miami Dolphins are 3.5 point favorites.

Re: Return To Glory: A Miami Dolphins CCM (Madden 13)

Turnovers Doom Dophins in Home Opener

The season opener was filled with excitement after the Dolphins stunning victory in Houston last week but Oakland spoiled the party and made it a depressing day for the fan. The Dolphins looked like a much different team this week than last week. The secondary was exploited by Denarius Moore, who had one of the best games of his young carrer. The only bright spot in the secondary was Sean Smith, who has got a pick in the first two games of the season. The front seven continued their dominance against the run. They ended up injuring the very fragile, Darren McFadden. He will be out for 2-3 weeks with a broken thumb.

The Miami offence played very well for most of the game but when they would get into the redzone they looked very poor. Ryan Tannehill threw two crutial interceptions in the endzone. Also, Miami had a chance to make it a 5 point game with about 1:15 to go. They had a first and goal at the 4 yard line and got absolutely nothing. The Raiders only had 6 points off of turnovers but the Dolphins left at least 9 points on the field. That's a 15 point difference which was larger than the differential at the end of the game. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas combined for 82 yards on 19 carries. Davone Bess was the most reliable receiver on the day until he was injured in the third quarter. He is expected to play next week. They probably should have gotten the ball more but the Dolphins really went away from the run in the second half. The offensive line played absolutely pitiful as they allowed 5 sacks. The offensive line has huge holes at the guard positions look for that to be assessed in the draft.

The special teams squad didn't have a very good day as Marcus Thigpen fumbled on the opening kickoff of the second half which led to a field goal for Oakland and it gave them all the momentum for the second half.

Next week, the Dolphins will welcome the hated Jets to Sun Life Stadium. The Raiders will host the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Game Notes

In this week 3 matchup the New York Jets will Travel to Miami to take on the rival Dolphins. The Jets come into this game looking for their 1st win after losing two close games to the Bills and Steelers. This is a must win game for the Jets as they can't afford to drop to 0-3 and 0-2 in the division.

The Dolphins enter after a disappointing loss at home to the Raiders. Turnover differential will be the key as they can't make as many mistakes as they did last week. If the front 7 continues their dominance they should be able to stop the Jets from moving the ball at all. Miami is a 2.5 point favorite.

Re: Return To Glory: A Miami Dolphins CCM (Madden 13)

Dolphins Dominate Rival Jets

Miami, FL-Terrell Owens is back and better than ever. He destroyed the Jets secondary all day catching 8 passes for 141 yards, including a 52 yard touchdown in the 4th quarter. Ryan Tannehill played his best game of his career against the depleted Jets secondary. Obviously not having the best corner in the league, Darrell Revis, on the field hurt the Jets greatly greatly. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas continue to carry the rushing attack with Reggie Bush out for 2 more weeks. Overall, the Dolphins played a great game on offence. If they play can play like this consistently they could end up in the playoffs.

The Dolphins controlled the game from start to finish because of their defense. What a surprise! Karlos Dansby continues to play like one of the best linebackers in the league wracking up 10 tackles, 5 for loss, and forcing a fumble. Sean Smith extended his interception streak to 3 games with a pick in the 1st quarter against Mark Sanchez. The Jets had a lot of trouble trying to sustain drives. Every time they would have a big play it would either come back or something bad would happen on the next play.

The biggest difference for the Dolphins this week was not turning the ball over. The Dolphins are showing when they win the turnover battle they have a much greater chance of winning, as they are 2-0 when they win the turnover differential. They are 0-1 when they lose it.

Next week to Dolphins go out west to face the Arizona Cardinals. The Jets go back to New York to face the San Francisco 49ers.
