If you enjoy tons of passing and scoring then this game was for you. Michigan traveled to Louisville for the Cardinals first Big Ten conference game and walked out with a victory. Michigan’s senior QB Devin Gardner pilled up yards on his way to a 540yd day and the B1G offensive player of the week honors. All day long the Cardinals running backs struggled for yards on the ground forcing OC Tony McDaniel to lean on his senior All-American Teddy Bridgewater. A late 4^th quarter touchdown tied the game up but Devin Gardner led his team down the field with less than a minute to go to get into field goal range but freshman kicker Jason Reynolds missed a 31yd to win the game as time expired. In OT the Michigan defense stopped Louisville forcing them into a 49yd field goal which was missed by Wallace. Michigan converted a 3^rd and long to get the ball inside the 5yd line. Gardner gave the ball to Rawls who ran over a Louisville defender on his way to his third touchdown of the day and ending the game. Louisville will look to rebound against struggling Minnesota next week.

This game was closer than the experts thought it would be leaving Vegas bookies very angry. Louisville should have rolled into Minnesota with ease but 3 straight drives ending in Bridgewater ints in the 1^st half allowed Minnesota to stay close. After a halftime talk with his OC, Tony McDaniel, Bridgewater settled down and lead his team to victory. Late 4^th quarter tds by Dominique Brown and Bridgewater on long runs ensured Louisville their first Big Ten victory and a future answer to a trivia question one day. Louisville will return home to face 5-0 Penn State it what will be a classic Big Ten match up.

Penn State entered today’s game as one of the hottest teams in the nation. The Cardinals were not about to let Penn State walk out of Papa Johns Stadium with a victory. The Cardinals defense struggled throughout the game but a 2^nd quarter 99yd kick return by sophomore receiver James Quick seemed to sparked the Louisville sidelines. Louisville and Penn State traded blows but a late 4^th quarter 4yd touchdown run by senior tailback Dominique Brown sealed the victory. Brown had a 15yd touchdown run earlier in the 4^th quarter where he ran over two would be Penn State tacklers at the 2yd line before falling into the end zone. The win keeps Louisville’s national championship hopes alive, while Penn State will look to rebound next week to continue their amazing season.

Purdue entered today’s game having not won a single game during the 2014-2015 season and they leave today’s game having still not won a single game. The Cardinals were the far superior team all day long. The two headed rushing attack of Brown and Dyer went over 200yds and 4tds today while senior QB Teddy Bridgewater threw 3td passes. Louisville moves into the top 5 with the win while Purdue’s season is a complete waste at this point. The Purdue coaching staff has to feel the seat getting hot with each lose. OC Tony McDaniel has the Louisville offense clicking. The offense is ranked 2^nd in points per game, 1^st in total yards, and 1^st in passing yards per game. Next week Louisville will travel to Illinois for another Big Ten match up that can keep the Cardinals in the top of the conference or a lose could spell trouble for any potential BCS bowl game.

Senior QB Teddy Bridgewater set the single game passing touchdown mark, six, today against a struggling Illinois defense that has played terrible this season. The Cardinals offense scored 35 points in the first half making this game one of those “wood shed” type of games. The starters were pulled mid way through the 3^rd quarter while the backups got some mop up duty. Sophomore(rs) QB Will Gardner threw for 2tds of his own. After the game OC Tony McDaniel was asked about the 14 points his offense scored in the 4^th quarter including 1 passing td by Gardner.

My job is to call plays for our team. It is not my job to make sure the opposing teams defense can stop the plays I call. I had guys in the game that have a chance of starting next year for us so I need to see them run certain things to better evaluate them. Will is going to be our starter so I want to give him some opportunities to throw the ball. He threw 4 passes and found the end zone on 2, so I say good for him. If the coaches and fans on that other sideline don’t like getting scored on then do your job. My is to call the best offensive play for our guys at the time it is called. Their job is to stop the play I call. Today I did a better job then they their DC did.

The Big Ten is known for its huge road games that can truly teas any team. Louisville traveled to Columbus, OH to take on Ohio State in yet another important Big Ten game. The Buckeyes enter the game ranked #16 in the nation and in position to Legends division, while Louisville is looking to stay within a game of Wisconsin who is a game better than Louisville in the Leaders division. From the start this was a shootout, the first half alone featured 6 touchdowns and a field goal. Louisville held to a 24-21 lead at the half. Ohio State received the ball to start the second half and senior QB Braxton Miller drove his team down field on a long drive that ended with a 7yd Smith touchdown run giving Ohio State the lead. The lead would not last long as senior QB Teddy Bridgewater answered the coaches challenge for halftime to lead his team on 3 scoring drives in the 3^rd quarter, 2tds and 1fg. Taking a 41-21 point lead into the 4^th quarter, Louisville was looking to play ball control. The Cardinals held the ball for over 4:00 while driving the ball inside the 30yd line but a rare missed field goal by junior(rs) kicker John Wallace gave Ohio State new hope. Miller led his team on a quick scoring drive to pull within 6 points. The next position ended on a Bridgewater INT to sophomore corner Eli Apple. The Cardinal defense would force Miller into a turnover on downs. The Cardinals were able to hold the ball to the clock struck zeros.

Louisville will now return home to face #13 Wisconsin next week in what could be the Leaders division title game. Look for Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium to be packed and loud for this one.
