Game Notes
Neither of these teams like each other, and both come in missing key players all over the field. Both will be without their starting left tackles, as both Trent Williams and Reilly Reiff are out with Labrum tears. Jamaal Charles is expected to miss 3 months with a stress fracture in his foot, which hurt the Kansas City running game last week against New York.
San Diego Wins If...Manning plays the way he did in the second half. After two first half interceptions, Manning was solid completing his final 9 passes, for two touchdown a week ago.
Kansas City Wins If...They can make stops on defense, and not allow Manning to get comfortable within the pocket. If they can hit him early they will have a chance to force some erratic play as he continues to adjust to life in the NFL once more.

Manning Throws 3 TD Passes in Impressive Victory
San Diego won all of three games a year ago, but with Peyton Manning under center, and with key changes made including hiring head coach Rock Denby, the Chargers have nearly that many victories through the first two weeks of the season, beating divisional rival Kansas City 28-17 on Sunday night.
For the second week in a row the Chargers took on a rookie quarterback, and this meeting went much better for the defense. Rookie signal caller Cody Kessler out of USC went 20 of 35 for 242 yards with 2 touchdowns, but also 2 interceptions. San Diego also got after Kessler, sacking him 5 times, bringing their total through two games to 11. Melvin Ingram led the way for the defense with 7 tackles, including 3 sacks. Second year corner Parrish Gaines had a big game as well, recording both interceptions of Kessler.
Lamar Miller had his second straight 100 yard rushing performance, running for 109 yards and a score on 24 carries. Miller darted left and cut right to get into the end zone to open the scoring. His backup, Tre Madden had a good effort as well, adding 14 carries for 63 yards.
Gaines first interception set the tone for San Diego, as Kansas City was in Charger territory, moving down for a potential game tying score. Gaines undercut a underthown ball and returned it ten yards. Six plays later Peyton Manning found Stephen Hill for his first touchdown pass of the game, and a 14-0 lead.
After Kansas City settled for a short 25 yard field goal to get on the board, Manning led a masterful two minute drill, culminating in a 4 yard touchdown pass to Michael Floyd, and an 18 point lead going into the half.
Ramses Barden caught a 41 yard touchdown pass from Kessler to pull within 11, but Peyton and the Charger offense countered with their final strike, a beautifully thrown 20 yard touchdown to Randall Telfer, who split the defense and made the catch in traffic.
Kansas City would drive towards another score, but Parrish Gaines made his second pick of the game, killing that drive. With a 54 yard touchdown to Dwayne Bowe with 4:31 to play the Chiefs made it an 11 point game, but were unable to get off the field as Tre Madden ran the ball down their throats to seal the victory.
San Diego got after it, limiting Kansas City to under 300 yards of offense.

Game Notes
Both teams come off impressive victories a week ago, coming into their AFC West Showdown. Peyton Manning will suit up against Denver for the first time since retiring as a Bronco two seasons ago. He was spurned by the Broncos who had turned to Brock Osweiler when he retired. Osweilier has played well, but tore his bicep against the Browns a week ago, and will miss two months.
Chargers Win If...Manning and company keep playing the way they have. 11 sacks and 6 forced turnovers in two weeks, while scoring nearly 30 points a game is a recipe for a deep playoff run.
Broncos Win If...They can get some pressure. Their defense has been abysmal this season, with 3 sacks and no takeaways, and giving up 164 yards a game on the ground. If they can't slow down Lamar Miller they have limited chance to win.

Manning Gets Best of Broncos in First Meeting
Peyton Manning had a message for the Denver Broncos, after they declined to give him a chance at another shot to play for a Super Bowl Championship. I'm not done. Manning passed for a season high 5 touchdowns and 352 yards as his Chargers blasted the Broncos 45-20 on Thursday night.
After Matt Prater hit a 57 yard field goal to pull the Broncos within 4, Manning hooked up with Michael Floyd on a perfect slot streak on the second play of the drive for an 86 yard touchdown. Manning hit Floyd in stride at the Bronco 40 before making two defenders miss on his way to the end zone, and a 14-3 lead.
Denver had a chance to pull within 40 on their following drive after Zac Dysert, starting for the injured Brock Osweiler hit Jeremy Maclin at the Charger 4 yard line on a pefectly thrown ball for a 46 yard gain, but on the following play Stevan Ridley, who had been held in check for the first quarter and a half was drilled by Ray Lewis, fumbling the ball which San Diego recovered.
Manning would lead a field goal scoring drive to take a 14 point lead. After a quick three and out Manning would again lead San Diego on a scoring drive, capped by a 14 yard pass to Stephen Hill.
Coming out of the half with the ball Manning and Floyd would hook up for a second time, this time on a 19 yard strike. Floyd trucked a defender on his way into the end zone to put San Diego up 25, and turning a good lead into a blow out.
Peyton Manning dominated in his first appearance against his old team.
