WEE 15 RECAP

#18 (8-3) VS #14 (10-1)

EAGLES LOOK TO END SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE!!

GAME PREVIEW

Coach Dezaron knew if his Eagles had any chance of upsetting the Knights of UCF, it would be in a all out shootout. UCF's SR QB Blake Bortles just missed passing for 3000 yds last season finishing with 2962, well throwing 32 TD's and 8 INT. Coming into today's game he was at 2935 yds with 27 TD's and just 3 INT. Another key to that would be taking away his favorite target in WR R. Hall (63 rec 986 yds 9 TD). However the passing combo isn't the only reason why the Knights have 10 wins and are #14. They also have Storm Johnson in the backfield who like Bortles is just a few yards shy of a milestone as well. Johnson comes into the game with 953 yards rushing and 11 TD's.

Coach Dezaron
Quote:
All 3 of these guy's are Seniors and I know they have high hopes. A victory and they could be headed to a BCS Bowl game. A loss and they go to the Liberty Bowl. UCF is in a very familiar situation to what BSU has gone through in alot of years well in the WAC and MWC. In any other circumstance I would wish them the best of luck, but the reality is, I have my guys ready to play.. So lets get it on!!!!!!!!!
GAME RECAP

UCF would get on the scoreboard first as they kick a 23 yd FG to make it (3-0). The Eagles answer with a 33 FG of their own to tie it at (3-3) with 2:57 to play in the 1st Quarter. After a huge stop on 3rd and 2. The Eagles get the ball back and 4 plays latter, B. Hill is in for the score on a 10 yd TD run to make it (10-3).

The Knights Offense explodes in the 2nd Quarter as Storm Johnson scores from 2 yds out and 1 yd out to give UCF the (17-10) lead. Then after a R. Bell INT, the Knights would score again this time on a 11 yd pass from Bortles to R. Hall to make it (24-10). The Eagles would answer back with a 44 yd FG by D. Mulder just 40 seconds latter to make it (24-13). Then after another huge stop by the Eagle "D", Bell would take to the air hitting WR M. Dawkins on a 23 yd pass with just 12 seconds to play in the half. Down (24-19), the Eagles would go for 2pt and Bell would deliver finding WR Jay Jones for the score to make it (24-21).

In the 3rd Quarter it was all Defense. The Eagles held the Knights to 3 straight series of 3 and outs, well the Knights picked off Bell for a 2nd and 3rd time. However finally with just a minute to play, Bell slightly rattled would drop back and find Q. Jones on a 10 yd TD strike to give EMU the (28-24) lead.

UCF would start the 4th with a 42 yd FG attempt that would fall short, turning the ball over to Bell and the Eagles, and Bell would make them pay, finding WR D. Creel wide open on a play action pass for the 42 yd score (35-24). The Knights however were unwilling to give up and with 4 minutes left to play would make it a 1 score game, as Storm Johnson rumbles in for his 3rd score of the game. (35-30). Looking to make it a FG game, the Knights would go for 2pt, but fail. Leaving a 5 point game. The Eagles knew that a TD should seal the game, but the offense would stall forcing the Coach Dezaron to turn to Mudler for a 45 yd FG. The JR would connect making it a 8 pt game (38-30) with 1:41 to play.

It would take Bortles just 45 seconds to find the endzone as he shreds a "D" that had held him in check most of the day, finding D. Owi on a 2 yd score (38-36). UCF would go into a 5 WR set looking to tie the game on the 2pt conversion, but D. Scott would come up huge!!! Deflecting the pass, as the Eagles held on to the lead. With just 56 seconds to play, UCF would attempt the onside kick, but Quincy Jones would cover up the ball and with only 1 timeout left, UCF was left to watch EMU run out the clock, seeing their BCS bowl berth disappear just like the precious seconds on the clock.

FINAL SCORE EMU-38 UCF-36

3 Top-25 wins, 9 wins and a Bowl game, this is a season come true. I believe we have made a statement here. EMU football is not a doormat, a laughing stock, a team to be looked down upon. We are here to show the rest of the nation that the Flight of the Eagles can't be stopped. Well we might not be Conference Champs, or playing in a BCS bowl game, we can still be very proud of what we have accomplished this year.

AROUND THE NATION RECAP

THE HUNT FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP

Once again the final weeks of the regular season saw several teams lose their chance to play for a National Title.

The Oregon Ducks held onto the #1 spot for 12 weeks, but a 38-35 upset by the Washington State Cougars knocked them from their spot. The Ducks then went into panic mode as they lost to the Huskies in Week 13 (28-16) and then again in Week 14 in the Civil War game against the Beavers (34-9). Even with 3 loss's though the Ducks still held on to take the Pac-12 North and will have a chance to earn a Rose Bowl bid with a win over #9 UCLA, in the Pac-12 Championship. The Ducks won the earlier meeting with the Bruins 33-31 back in Week 4.

Well it was the 27-24 loss to #18 Northwestern in Week 11 that actually knocked the Buckeyes from their chance at a National Title spot, OSU's 26-21 loss to rival Michigan in Week 14, has many in Columbus looking for a coaching change as Urban Myer is on the hot seat. Myer will have a chance to lead the #8 Buckeyes in a Big Ten Title game against #13 Wisconsin and a berth in the Rose Bowl against the winner of the Oregon/UCLA game. Some feel if he can win both his job is safe. We will see.

&

Last year a loss in the SEC Championship game to Alabama, cost the Gamecock$ a National Title Berth. Now with a 11-1 record (lost to #5 Florida) they are sitting at #3 ready to do the same thing to the Aggies.

TAMU is #1 for a reason. They are 12-0 and play in the SEC, and their closest game all season was a 9 point win against LSU back in October. Johnny Football game back for another year for a reason. That reason was to win a National Title. with almost 4000 yards of Offense (3106 passing/841 rushing) and 50 TD's (39 Passing 11 rushing) he has proven he is one of the greatest college QB's to play the game.

The Longhorns are the only other undefeated team in football. A Texas vs Texas A&M matchup would be a ratings hit.. As these 2 rivals have yet to play each other since the Aggies departure to the SEC. Texas overcame a scare in Week 14 beating Houston 32-25, and now face #25 Kansas State in the Big 12 Title game. They beat the Wildcats 31-13 earlier in the year.

Well #7 Georgia Tech couldn't finish the season undefeated going 10-2 with loss's to Florida State and Clemson, the Yellowjackets do have a chance to finish among the Top-5 and play in the Orange Bowl. First though they must take care of #18 NC State in the ACC Title game.

The Temple Owls finished 10-2 earning the MAC North Title and a #12 finish in the BCS Rankings. A win over Bowling Green in the MAC Title game could have the Owls playing in a BCS Bowl game. A loss most likely means #13 Boise State (8-4) could slide into a at large spot, or even better yet maybe the EMU Eagles?

Well it doesn't have a impact on the BCS Standings, it should be noted that UTEP (9-3) is playing Nevada (7-5) in the MWC Championship game this week.

With 9 teams, like CUSA, the Sun Belt doesn't have a Conference Championship game. However it should be noted that well UL Lafayette finished with the same 9-3 record as La Tech and Troy, their 8-0 undefeated season makes them the Sun Belt Champs.

The UConn Huskies are the American Conference Champs after finishing the year 10-2 and 7-1 in conference play, like the Sun Belt with 9 teams, they don't have a Conference Championship game.

Re: The Coaching Career of Ryne Dezaron (NCAA 14)

IT'S BOWLING TIME!!!!

ONLY 1 WILL REMAIN UNDEFEATED!!

The BCS committee as well as college football fans across the nation, couldn't have asked for a better National Championship. #1 Texas A&M vs #2 Texas. The only 2 remaining undefeated teams in the country. The winner, is a the clear cut 2014 National Champs.

The Aggies defeated #3 South Carolina (31-14) in the SEC Championship game to get here, well the Longhorns took care of business in the Big 12 Title game defeating K-State (56-13). It's Manziel the 2014 Heisman winner taking on the man who finished 2nd in David Ash. Manziel also finished #1 in the Maxwell and O'Brien voting well Ash finished 2nd. However it's safe to say if Ash can lead Texas to a Title, he will be okay with that..

With a 42-16 win over UCLA, the Oregon Ducks are headed to the Rose Bowl. Their opponent will be Ohio State.. The Buckeyes making up for a loss to Michigan in Week 14, rebound with a 31-16 win over Wisconsin to set up this exciting matchup.

Just 1 year after playing in the National Championship game, the #11 (8-4) Boise State Broncos fresh off a move to the Pac-12, are back playing in a BCS Bowl game as they take on the ACC Champion #5 (11-2) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who defeated NC State (35-14) to get here.

#3 Alabama (10-2) will have to settle for a Sugar Bowl bid, where they will take on #10 Maryland (9-3). Leaving this the least sexy of the the BCS games.

With a 27-14 win over Bowling Green in the Mac Championship, the Temple Owls (11-2) finish the year ranked #12 and earn a spot in the BCS series. Their reward is #6 Iowa (9-3). Believe it or not but Temple actually played in a BCS Bowl game before dating back to 1934 when they lost to Tulane in the Sugar Bowl (35-20) with Pop Warner as their coach.

THE EAGLES HAVE LANDED!!

The #14 Eastern Michigan Eagles (9-3) havn't played in a Bowl game since 1987, but they are back, as they are flying to Hawaii, to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs (8-4). A team that Coach Dezaron is very familiar with having beat them twice last year as the OC at Boise State.

Coach Dezaron
Quote:
We are very excited for the chance to take on Fresno State. They are a very good program, that played a very tough non-conference schedule this year. They lost in Week 1 to USC (34-29), then lost (41-37) to Florida State in Week 4. Their other 2 loss's came in MWC play as they fell to San Diego State (27-17) and Nevada (35-28). They also have a pretty big win as they beat Nebraska in Week 3 (27-21).

Thank you my friend. I figured someone was following because the views were going up, but it's always nice to have comments as well.

I am excited for what the future has in store for Coach Dezaron. Well I have enjoyed the success at EMU this year, I came to a team that actually had some good talent on both sides of the ball and so far have done a pretty solid job of landing alot of 3* talent from Michigan to stock the roster.

Thanks for following along.
