Escaping a Meltdown:

Kellen Clemens and the Chargers offense were ineffective, aside from Ryan Matthews all throughout the first 3 quarters, but a surge in the 4th saved the team from an upset and they have now won 3 in a row.

The defense was once again fairly dominant, but Bortles, who led a nice 10 play 72 yard scoring drive to open the game, was injured on the Touchdown play and Henne came in. Henne was ungodly ineffective other than a 97 yard Touchdown to Shorts, who blew by Brandon Flowers. This defense really needs to find a way to correct the deep gashes that they give up. Eric Weddle is having an awful 1st quarter to start the season.

Nick Novak is on thin ice after being unable to make a kick longer than 39 yards and his struggles are showing.

San Diego Super Chargers!:

The Chargers came to play at home welcoming the New York Jets. The defense was phenomenal against the run, the team had held the Jets to -3 yards running until the end of the 4th quarter in garbage time. The offense skyrocketed for 49 points and Clemens was spectacular.

One negative about the game is that Antonio Gates suffered a back injury and he left the game early.
