Dolphins Rock Jets in NY 34-3 in Season Finale Secure Wildcard Spot

The Miami Dolphins turnaround season in year 2 is complete. The Dolphins went from a 5-11 finish in year one to an 11-5 and post season berth Year 2. Why? What changed? Simple. A great draft, some key free agent pick ups, and the emergence of a sound running game led by 2nd year RB Bishop Sankey. The Dolphins cruised to an easy road win over the Jets with "Hankey" Sankey leading the charge. He would finish with 153 yards on 24 carries and a TD. Mike Wallace led all WR's with 7/94 and a TD.

The Dolphins will go on the road to face the AFC South champion Tennessee Titans. This game is very winnable. The Dolphins match up great against the Titans who will be missing prized free agent signing CJ Spiller.

Re: A Dolphins Tale (Madden 15 PS4) Online CFM

Dolphins go down 34-17 in the AFC Championship to Manning and the Broncos

The Miami Dolphins had a magical year 2. Coming off a miserable year one that saw the team go 5-11, the Fins turned it all around racing out to a 7-0 start and finish the regular season a healthy 11-5. A first round win over the Titans in the wild card round, then a dramatic win over the then 16-0 Bengals, the Dolphins rolled into Denver (their third straight road playoff game) as a wildcard underdog. They were looking to avenge year ones incredible loss with a huge upset at Mile High. Things started well as the Dolphins jumped on the Broncos for a quick 10-0 lead. But by halftime it was 24-10 Broncos. Manning picked apart the Dolphins secondary and the Fins would never recover.

The Dolphins would go into the off season looking to again bolster their OL by finding a LG. They also wanted another shut down corner to eventually pair with rookie sensation Shontrell Hubbard. Brent Grimes is coming to the end of his great career and the Fins feel this is a huge area of need. They are also looking for another dominant DT to eventually replace aging veteran Randy Starks. LOLB is an area of concern as Koa Misi will move back to his MLB spot to back up superstar rookie Quay Gregory. The Dolphins are said to be moving starting ROLB Danell Ellerbe to LOLB and Jalani Jenkins will assume the ROLB as he has fast developed into a rising star for the Fins. Rookie Treyvon Franklin really has had a tough time grasping the pro game and is a project.

Head Coach Joe Philbin will be stepping down. After careful considereation and consultation with his wife, Coach Philbin has resigned. Family concerns are the driving force, and current GM Michael Sword will be returning to the sidelines as the new HC going forward. He will have dual duty as both the HC and GM for the Miami Dolphins. Coach Sword was the former HC at FAU and ran a West Coast like offense and had great success developing his QB's and RB's. Expect the same offense with Sword and word out of camp is the Dolphins are in strong talks with Ryan Tannehill, Lamar Miller and Mike Pouncy on big contract extensions. Other players already in talks are Oliver Vernon and Randell Cobb.

Draft Recap coming soon!!

Re: A Dolphins Tale (Madden 15 PS4) Online CFM

2016 Miami Dolphins NFL Draft

Keshawn Hester CB - Round 1 - 5'11' 184 lbs Alabama - Keshawn was the number 2 ranked CB on the Dolphins Board and he fell to them at the 29th overall pick. With a 72 OVR rating he comes to the squad as the new starting nickel CB replacing veteran Cortland Finnegan who is now the #4 CB on the depth chart. 93 SPD and 93 ACC Hester is a true press lock down CB and should develop fast. The plan is to pair him with Shontrell Hubbard for the next decade.

Ronell Bryant DT - Round 2 - 6'3' 271 lbs Oklahoma - The Dolphins think a gem fell into their lap in round two in Ronell Bryant. The kid has freaskish speed for a DT (82 SPD and 90 ACC) and looks to wreck havoc as a pass rushing DT. He is expected to be in on the nickel and dime packages in obvious passing situations as a pass rushing specialist. Ronell comes in a 70 OVR but has 84 PWR moves and 76 Finesse moves. The Dolphins hope to develop his block shed and pursuit to the point of where he can eventually replace starter Randy Starks once he get's on the wrong side of 30.

Devan McClure LOLB - Round 3 - 6'3' 242 lbs Navy - GM/Coach Michael Sword made his risk pick here in the 3rd round as projected first rounder Devan McClure fell into the 3rd round amid serious concerns of grasping an NFL playbook. However he has raw pass rushing skills and a great pursuit trait. His overall though comes in a low low 60. This is mainly due to his raw pass rushing moves, and awareness and play recognition. He is expected to push Treyvon Franklin hard for the 2nd string LOLB spot and look to challenge in the future for the starting spot. It seems like this ended up being a reach pick in hindsight, but it remains to be seen if both Franklin and McClure are either gems or fools gold. Sword rolled the dice yet again on a LOLB in the third round.

Dylan Welch LG - Round 4 - 6'3' 330 lbs Pittsburgh - The former Pitt Panther is a flat out mauler and is a diamond in the rough. His development trait is Superstar! He came in as a 75 overall with a 90 run block but his pass blocking will need to be developed after the season (via XP I only upgrade at season end my house rule). The Dolphins are very excited about Dylan and he is an instant starter and the hope is he can hold up in pass protection, but open lanes on the left side as the Dolphins want to be able to run to either side at will.

No pick in the 5th round (traded)

Demetre Avery WR - 6th Round - 5'8' 196 lbs Texas Tech - The former Red Raider was a projected 2nd rounder but hands were a huge concern as well as injury due to his smallish size. Well Sword drafted this little lighting rod to return kicks and punts. This kid a blazer. 94 SPD 95 ACC. He is a special teams player first and foremost. If he can develop into a sneaky speed WR in the slot on 4 and 5 WR sets then that will be a bonus. Sword wanted Cobb to focus solely on his WR duties after resigning him to a lucrative long term deal.

Dominick Miles RB - 7th Round - 5'10' 203 lbs Auburn - Miles is a pure power back. Sword wanted another power back to develop along with Damien Williams. The Fins will carry 4 RB's and Miles showed some serious rumble in the pre-season already. Look for him to get some spot carries on the goal line if Sankey is winded over the smaller Lamar Miller. Make no mistake though the Dolphins are committed to Sankey and Miller as their one, two punch. But it never hurts to keep young legs in the stable. Miles was very impressive as a Tiger and should stick with the team...at least for this year.

So overall the draft was another successful one. Overall grade is a B. Sword drafted 2 players who will be in starting roles in Welch (LG) and Avery (special teams return man) and two very exciting and great long term prospects on defense in Hester (CB) and Bryant (DT). The wild card is again the LOLB position with McClure.
