Re: A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty

Great bowl win to close the year Cheese! Your defense played great obviously only allowing the long FG.

Glad to see Washington finish the year at #2 with a Sugar Bowl win over Alabama!

The recruiting class definitely looks like you added several building blocks, especially on the defensive side as you noted. Your linebacking core still looks a little thin, but definitely improved the line and secondary. Plus, I love the fact that you are mostly doing it with players in your region and building realistically. Apparently DE Mike Mackey noticed you are doing something special and flipped from UT!

Can't wait for 2014!

Re: A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty

Mackey is a big flip, for sure! As others have said, I enjoy the realistic nature (for the most part) of your recruiting and storylines. Can't wait for the Madden stuff, too! To maybe see someone latch on to a team in free agency or drafted in the mid-to-late rounds would be awesome.

There have been some good ideas on dice rolls and whatnot which I think would add some good things to dynasties, but beyond that, this one is a top-notch and one of my favorite.

It will be here soon enough! Hopefully you got my PM about how there will be a special section in each Around the NCAA update devoted to you all. I am really excited to premier it. In an interesting twist of fate, it just so happens that you (DC of UNLV) will be facing off against Tearz49ers (OC of Arizona) in week one. Talk about starting things off with a bang!

Thank you my friend for the kind words. They really mean a lot. I really love this report and am so glad that so many others get to share in it.

I am really excited for the subtle integration of Madden '12. It is interesting to see the careers play out and I am still hopeful I may someday get to see one of my own play in the NFL.

Thank you again!

Thomas has been an absolute workhorse of our offense and really someone who is becoming the face of this dynasty. He doesn't possess elite speed but man can he run through some people. I really equate him to a Lendale White type runner.

On the other hand sophomore tailback Joel Humphrey, who stole the show last season is our speed and big play back. I daresay we have a poor man's version of USC's Bush-White combo going on.

I don't think Thomas will quite live up to the hype of the great Reggie Moore, one because he is not the receiver Moore was and because we aren't in a position just yet to burst onto the national scene like you and Moore did. Regardless, I would be amazed if Thomas doesn't graduate holding every school rushing record.

Him and Humphrey are going to be the center point of our offense for sure moving forward. Thank you for the great feedback my friend!

Thank you my friend! I really appreciate it. The offseason is one of my favorite parts so I really try to add to the immersion for all with my updates.

We really came to play there at the end against UL Lafayette. I was more than a little surprised with how well the defense clamped down, especially after some of the shootouts we were involved in leading up to it.

I thought you would be happy to see your Huskies doing well! It will be interesting to see if they drop off at all this year as they lost both their offensive and defensive coordinators to head coaching jobs in the offseason.

We really hit the recruiting trail harder and I couldn't be happier with how the class turned out. Like you said, I am also very happy in that I feel like I have done it in a realistic manner. We seem to have somehow cornered the market on Canada (7 on the roster this season). Pulling the upset to steal Mackey from Texas was amazing. I never thought we were going to pull it off. We got very lucky in that he wanted to be close to home and get early playing time (both points that we could recruit heavily against Texas on).

Thank you for checking in my friend! I am excited to get this next season started!

Thank you for the feedback my friend! I am glad so many are enjoying this project while at the same time feeling it being realistic. This is something that I really try to emphasize in all my work is to make it both challenging and realistic.

I am very excited too for the addition of some of the Madden storylines. I think it will be a long time until we see any Day 1 talent coming out of Eastern Michigan but maybe seeing a guy like Robert Thomas go in a late round could happen. Who knows, fingers crossed though.

You raise a good point with some of the dice roll ideas I have seen bounced around for NCAA '14 being applicable here. For the most part I feel the injuries in NCAA '12 (the version I am playing) do pretty well all on their own and need no supplementation. There might be tweaks I add down the road. For now the two big things I wanted to add this offseason was the Madden integration and the CAC's. I am sure there will be more improvements down the road.

Thank you for the support my friend!

Re: A Rising Storm in the North | Cheese's Eastern Michigan Dynasty

Holy crap! You had a dead man still coaching in your dynasty!

That really brought home the fact you're playing an older version of the game. I've always thought it'd be fun to start a 'nasty with a version that has players who are now established NFL stars, just to see how they perform in (virtual) college.
