Harvey Page looks very promising and you have a good jump on any competition for signing him. If you could snag him and the tackle Spencer you could really start to put some cornerstones in place for your offense for seasons to come. Hopefully you can get into the hunt for Miranda more as well. I am a sucker for athletic safeties.

Props to both you and thesportsguru11 for the graphics; very nice presentation.

Page & Spencer will definitely be good gets for us. We're pretty well ahead on both of them, so I'm not too worried right now. There's also another QB we're looking at right now who's fairly talented. The QB position could be crowded next season.

The guy I'm looking forward to most is FB Chris Moore. If you remember Fred Roach from my Tulane dynasty, Moore is basically a carbon copy of him. Great runner, great catcher, great blocker. If we manage to sign him, expect him to be a wild card in the offense. It's a shame we'd only have him for 2 years.

Blazers dominate Monarchs to pick up first win
Old Dominion held to 212 yards, 0 second-half points

October 11, 2015
by Ronald Harper

The Blazers moved the ball at will offensively, and played great defense en route to a dominating 34-14 victory over the Old Dominion Monarchs this weekend. According to head coach Kaelyn Willingham, the team had a great week of practice after the Bye, and a few new formations installed into the offense helped out greatly. In earlier weeks we saw UAB employ a pass-first offense; in recent weeks the team has gone run-heavy. The backfield combo of Xerxes Ragnar & Biggie Stevenson has worked better than expected, as the combo has combined for nearly 200 yards a game rushing. This has allowed the passing game to be more efficient, as Ragnar is completing over 60% of his passes. On the flip side, Old Dominion had success early on but struggled in the second half. It was the best performance the defense put up all season.

UAB got the ball first and scored the first points, with Biggie Stevenson punching it in from a yard out. ODU responded with a rushing touchdown of its own, by way of QB David Washington. UAB drove down the field again, Xerxes Ragnar tossed a touchdown to TE Mickey Henderson, and it was 14-7 after one. ODU responded again, with another David Washington touchdown run, and that's how the game stayed for a while. UAB moved the ball well in the second quarter, but failed to score a few times.

Take one. The Blazers got the ball on their next drive and drove down the field, but a few penalties forced them to punt. ODU went three-and-out.

Take two. UAB got the ball on the Monarchs' side of the field, but a bad option pitch led to a turnover.

Take three. After another Old Dominion three-and-out, UAB drove down the field again, and ran the clock down to a few seconds. But this time they finally scored again. Another Biggie Stevenson touchdown run, and the Blazers took a 21-14 lead into the locker room (their first halftime lead of the season).

In the second half UAB had all the momentum. And they had all the good play as well, with Old Dominion held to 56 yards of offense. The Blazers consistently churned out yardage, converted third downs, and drained the game clock. Xerxes Ragnar added a rushing score of his own in the 3rd Quarter, and at 28-14 UAB was in control. Matt Edens added 2 field goals in the 4th, and Old Dominion began to press. Their play-calling became very odd, as the ODU coaches dialed up screen pass after screen pass, all to the same player (HB Ray Lawry III). Why they did that was unknown, but UAB shut it down. David Washington threw a game-sealing interception, and the Blazers walked off the field as 20-pt victors.

Coach Willingham received the Gatorade bath after the game.

Quote:
Willingham: "What a great win for our team. These guys played hard today, harder than I've seen them play all season. This was a true team effort."

The Blazers are now 1-4 on the season, but the road doesn't get any easier. They start a 3-game road trip next week, beginning in Nashville with the Vanderbilt Commodores. Vanderbilt has had a middling start to the season with a 3-3 record (their wins coming against an FCS team, UMass, and an underachieving Missouri). Still, they should be decent favorites going into the UAB game.

Yes!!! That is what I am talking about. So glad to see you pick up your first win my friend. The defense really clamped down there in the second quarter.

Moving way from in-game pictures or just haven't been able to capture any the past couple games? Just curious.
