It was a stressful 3rd quarter for sure! I'm holding out hope for a BCS bowl. We have climbed back into the top 10, and I think it would do this young team a lot of good to play such a highly regarded bowl game. A win could really spark their confidence for next season.


The injury edits have sure helped add a challenge, I wish I had done it sooner. I particularly liked that Kalama's injury kept him out much longer than predicted. He has been "questionable" the last couple games, but has not been on the depth chart at all. I really was hoping to have him back in action and get him his first 1000 yard season, but I guess it wasn't in the cards.

Couldn't help but notice TCU trailing SDSU in the fourth quarter in one of your pics. Did they really choke that game? If so that has to be upsetting knowing it's not enough to make the CCG.

Good win against Baylor even though it was closer than you expected. Were you kind of thrown off by them playing you that close, given your history?

I’ll have the recap for the week up tomorrow but, to play spoiler, TCU did pull off the win. I had my eyes on it for sure. Although it wouldn’t put me in first, it would be a hell of a win for SDSU, something that could really propel a program.

Baylor threw me for sure. They now run a 4-2-5 and I have always struggled against that defense. I find it difficult to read. Their offense surprised me with the big plays. It was an “edge of your seat” type game, I found myself standing up for several big plays. I was happy to see them actually compete! I sure didn’t think it would be so difficult though lol

The depth this adds is tremendous, and not to divert too much off topic I wish they had added:

hiring/firing your own coordinators.

somewhat real contracts, with salary, prestige, facilities, recruits, etc. all playing a factor into you chose one gig over another.

a tracker for following your coaching tree, or at least emphasizing your record against conference foes and rivals with in-game stats or voice-over commentary, not just your coach info stat sheet that doesn't even identify the rivals.

a quick in-game blurb/video about current pros coming back for a big rival game, showing them shaking the coach's hand or something.

Obviously we are able to track some of this ourselves (I have a notebook tracking all my OCs/DCs and where they've gone, even keeping track of head-to-head matches against my coach), but if the game could capture even some of this, it would be a thing of beauty.

In some ways, what you, and others that I'm starting to follow on here, is better than what the game could produce; you have your news articles, wonderfully-written, complete with images, and others have some videos, some really well done, but all unique and quite enjoyable to follow.

Back on topic: Here's to a BCS Bowl bid! C'mon Sonoma State!
