it's going to be really fun recruiting knowing that basically every recruit you sign will be a huge improvement over whoever you already have

Yep. Every player I recruit this season will be a day 1 starter. This is hilarious.

Update today.

What it takes to win
For the Hoosiers, nothing more than to take the field.
The Panthers need to create lots of turnovers, capitalize on Indiana mistakes, and make none of their own. What they lack in experience, they more than make up for in heart--we hope.

Panthers Lay Egg in Inaugural Game
Indiana took the lead early and never relinquished it on their way to nearly 700 yards of total offense.

WEEK 1 BOX SCORE
Teams1ST2ND3RD4THOTSCORE
Central Indiana Panthers (0-1)0000-0
Indiana Hoosiers (1-0)7241421-66

BLOOMINGTON, IN - Just four minutes into the game, Panthers head coach Cam Cameron was all smiles. His team, on their first drive in school history, was mere yards from the end zone and starting their first game with a lead.

His smile quickly faded, however, as a quick interception followed by 66 unanswered points left the Central Indiana Panthers (0-1) searching for answers following a 0-66 beat down.

“It looked good for a few minutes,” Cameron said grimly. “For a possession, our offense was firing on all cylinders.”

That first drive—51 yards (following a huge kickoff return by receiver Lui Pittman) in seven plays—was essentially all their offensive success for the game, as the Panthers finished with 78 total yards of offense, four first downs, and an unbelievable thirteen punts.

The defense, meanwhile, let the Indiana Hoosiers (1-0) run rampant, setting school records for passing yards (433), total offense (693), total yards (812), and first downs (28), while punting only twice the entire game.

“I just felt on fire,” said Indiana quarterback Tre Roberson, who played only three quarters and still managed to throw for 328 yards. “Every play I tried was working today.”

For the Panthers, the starting lineup may see some changes heading into the next game, as quarterback Khalid High threw for only 45 yards on 5-17 passing, while tailback Antone Atkinson squeaked out 22 yards on 15 carries, a 1.4 rushing average.

On the defensive end, things looked marginally better statistically, with junior Bubba Kelly recording 11 tackles (3 solo), defensive end Marcel Jack collecting two tackles for loss and a sack, and cornerback Donte Herring making the first turnover in Central Indiana History, an interception at the end of the 4th quarter to end an Indiana drive for once.

The Panthers head into a bye week before facing 13th-ranked Oklahoma on the road.
