Re: All Grown up now. The 2016 Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks hold on to beat Vikings, advance to 4th superbowl

Seattle - The Seahawks held off a furious rally from the Minnesota Vikings to outlast the NFC North champs and advance to Superbowl 51. The Vikings hung tough despite being completely dominated in time of possession, the turnover battle, and field position the entire game. Teddy Bridgewater was able to take advantage of a depleted secondary and keep hitting big play after big play to keep the game within striking distance for the Viks, but Russell Wilson and the Seahawks were able to keep answering. The Vikings were able to drive down to inside the red zone at the end of the game, but ran out of time before they could score, and a relieved Seahawks team and fan base was able to start celebrating the win. The Seahawks will now go on to Houston to face the Kansas City Chiefs who won the AFC in an upset of the New England Patriots earlier in the day. Superbowl LI kicks off in two weeks at 3:17 pm from NRG Stadium in Houston, TX.

Re: All Grown up now. The 2016 Seattle Seahawks

Superbowl LI Preview

The Seahawks and Chiefs renew an old school AFC West rivalry on the sports biggest stage

Houston - After a shocking upset in the AFC title game, and a war of attrition in the NFC Championship. The Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks will square off in Superbowl 51. This didn't seem like such a far stretch earlier in the year, but Kansas City lost it's final three games to finish in a wild card spot, and having to go on the road to make it here, but they were able to find the mojo that made them the best team in the league earlier in the year for three games and make it through the AFC to this game. On the other side Seattle was the top team in the NFC all year, and stayed home through the postseason, fending off two tough games from the Falcons and Vikings, and coming out worse for wear because of it. Good news for Seattle is that Earl Thomas is going to gut it out and play in this game, however WR Doug Baldwin, and LB K.J. Wright who were injured last week will be unable to play Sunday. On the other side the Chiefs, who were already hot are now getting healthy too as it looks like Jamaal Charles, and Spencer Ware will both be active for this game. Seattle will be relying on their defense once again to stop those two if they want to come out on top in this game. Seattle is looking for it's second Superbowl championship in four tries, while Kansas City will also be looking for their second, although they haven't won the game since Superbowl IV way back in 1969, which was also their last appearance.

Re: All Grown up now. The 2016 Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks Dominate Chiefs to Win Superbowl LI

Houston - The Seattle Seahawks captured the Lombardi trophy for the second time in franchise history Sunday night with a dominant 38-6 win over the AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Seahawks were on fire on both offense and defense in this one, holding the Chiefs to under 200 yards of total offense for the game, and racking up over 500 on the other side of the ball. Russell Wilson added another piece to his already hall of fame looking resume by winning the Superbowl MVP with one of the more impressive performances by a QB in the history of the game. Paul Richardson could've made a case for the award as well has hauled in two or Wilson's four touchdown passes and had over 200 yards receiving in the game. For Kansas City it was just a long heartbreaking day of not being able to do anything on offense with the football. Jamall Charles was held to just 26 yards rushing, while Alex Smith was under duress all game long causing some turnovers that just made things worse for the Chiefs. One will have to wonder what changes will be made this offseason for them as they're an aging team who's window is getting tighter on being able to bring home a championship. Meanwhile for the Seahawks it will be another party in Seattle before they get their offseason underway. There will be a parade from Westlake Center down to CenturyLink Field where a rally will be held thanking fans for their support during the season, and sharing the celebration with them. We will be back here during the offseason for any free agent buzz, and the NFL Draft before the Seahawks defend their title in 2017.
