Game Notes
Oregon is coming in with momentum, and Cal is coming in with possibly the worst overall defense in the country. Oregon seemed to have found their defensive groove, as well as found an offensive scheme that works and fits the roster they are working with. ESPN picks Oregon to pick up the W against the Golden Bears.

Re: The Community Dynasty Diary

What Happened?

Berkeley, CA: It was a physical competition, both defenses showed up ready to play and fought hard. Only one offensive touchdown was scored, with one defensive touchdown with that. The rest of the points came from field goals by both teams.

In the end, Cal Golden Bears got the better of Oregon and kicked their game winning field goal as time expired to take the win 16-13. Oregon was visibly upset heading to the locker room, but there are some positives to take from this game. Their defense is continuing to get better and better, it was a huge problem for them for the first couple of weeks, but they have established a plan that works for them and works well.

Here is what Coach Peters had to say at his post-game conference.

We had everything going right for us, but when it mattered the most it swayed away from us. Looking at our team, we did everything right. Defense stepped up every time we needed them to, but we couldn't get it done in the end. This game isn't anything to be upset about, compare this to how we started our year, we know we can get back up and win some games. We won't hang our heads, we'll keep them up knowing we're getting better and we're going to break through

Coach Peters and the Ducks go to 2-2 and will look to bounce back next week.

Game Notes
Oregon enters hostile territory. The Trojans are playing with a bad attitude and the Ducks should be coming into the game with the same attitude. Oregon played a close came to Cal, but they will need to be on their best performance tonight and dominate this game early if they want to win. ESPN Picks USC to win 42-28

Re: The Community Dynasty Diary

Answered Prayer

Los Angeles, CA: It was a game Oregon needed to win desperately to have a quality season. They knew a loss to USC could spell trouble for the rest of the season for the Ducks. Coach Peters had a pre-game speech for the team and got the fired up before taking the field for warm up.

I don't care what you guys are seeing or hearing from the media, this team is good. We have the talent to win every game on the schedule, we just got to go out there and do everything according to plan. We are a family, we play as a family. Tonight, we prove to the world that we aren't out of the picture, we will fight and claw our way back into the national picture. USC goes down tonight!! DUCKS ON 3!!!

The Ducks did just that, they would jump ahead 7-0 after an interception set up a passing touchdown for the Ducks. Then they would jump out to 14-0 after USC would throw yet another interception, this time returned for a touchdown. USC would get a score just before halftime making it 14-7 at the break. Fox Sports Erin Andrews caught up with Coach Peters going into the locker room.

Erin: Coach, tell us what you think about the first half so far and what you plan on doing second half.

Coach: Well we gotta keep playing defense the way we have been. We already got the QB scared to throw the ball, he's thrown three picks in the first half alone. If we can continue to penetrate the line and get to the QB then they will be forced to rely on a running game they're missing because of injury. As for our offense, we just got to convert on 3rd down, we're currently not doing well and if we can't do well, we're not winning the game.

USC would open the second half by taking the kickoff 91 yards for the score to tie the game 14-14. That is one thing Oregon has been hurting on is special teams coverage. USC would get payback and take a 21-14 late in the 3rd as Hutchings would return an interception 75 yards for a score.

In the fourth quarter, Oregon clawed their way to a tie score 21-21, as star RB Freeman was able to find the endzone. Couple of possessions later, Oregon took the lead 24-21, with a short Schneider field goal. USC came to play though, they would take the lead 28-24 with a very long run by RB Davis, it seems like they do have a running game. With time running down, Oregon needed to score a touchdown to win, field goal was not an option. With less than 30 seconds remaining, Coach Peters called up a very nice passing play that saw Carrington II snag in the game winning pass. Oregon wins the game 31-28!!!! Here is Coach Peters in the post game.

It wasn't very pretty, but we got the win. I would of rather felt comfortable with this win, but our kids kept fighting even when they got put down late with time running out. Our defense stepped up big time today, we made Darnold nervous and had him on edge the entire game, but they did the same to us. We get out of here with a win, we gotta go back to Eugene and watch this tape and clean up everything that was hurting us. Hopefully this is something that will help us out throughout the rest of the season.

BREAKING NEWS: RECRUITING

Eugene, OR: Ladies and Gentlemen we have Breaking News coming from the ESPN College Football crew in regards to recruiting. We are here to provide you updates to three of the recruits we have been tracking all season. We are being told that two of the three have basically made their decision, though no commit has been announced yet.
