Vereen Carries Giants to 3-1 with Career High 227 Rushing Yards


Shane Vereen would have a career high 227 rushing yards on the day with 2 touchdowns.

TAMPA BAY -- The Giants improved to 3-1 on the season with a 44-34 victory over the now 0-4 Buccaneers. Giants running back had a career high 227 rushing yards on 36 carries with 2 touchdowns to boot.

The G-Men were down 10-0 with 6 minutes left in the 1st quarter thanks to a TB Nick Folk field goal and a 62 yd Jameis Winston touchdown pass to tight end O.J. Howard. The Giants then scored 21 points in 6 minutes with an Eli Manning touchdown pass to Will Tye, a pick 6 from cornerback Eli Apple, and an 80 yard touchdown run from RB S. Vereen. It would be Vereens first of two touchdowns on the day.

The giants would end up scored another 23 points, but thanks inpart to another Eli Manning pick 6 and a blocked punt that would be returned for a 3 yard touchdown, the Buccs managed to hang around just long enough to keep the game interesting. The Buccaneers scored with 55 seconds left in the game to make the score 44-34, and would go on to recover the onside kick. Tampa QB Jameis Winston would throw an interception in the endzone to Giants cornerback Valentino Blake to end the game. The Giants improved to 3-1 on the season.


Eli Apple returned a Jameis Winston interception for a touchdown.

Eli's Turnover Woes Continue in Giants 25-30 Loss Out West


Odell Beckham Jr.'s 7 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown would not be enough to bail out the Giants in LA.

LOS ANGELES -- The Giants gained 520 offensive yards today compared to Los Angeles' 214 yards, yet it was the Chargers who would come out on top when the clock struck 0:00. Another 4 interception game from Eli Manning, combined with a key fumble by Giants running back Paul Perkins allowed the Chargers to pull ahead early. The Chargers defense was unstoppable, racking up 6 sacks, as the Giants ran out of time to complete the comeback.

"There's no excuse for that many interceptions. I need to be more careful with the ball. This one's on me" said Giants Quarterback Eli Manning. If there was anybody looking for an excuse to try and bail out the struggling 2 time winning quarterback, one could argue that two of the interceptions Eli thrown should have been caught by receivers, but were instead bobbled and tipped into the air.

The Giants looked to be in good shape after holding an offense that scored 52 points in each of their last 2 games to a measly 3 points after the first quarter. The Giants would lose all momentum when on first down running back Paul Perkins coughed up the football deep in Giants territory. 2 plays later, Phillip Rivers would throw his first of two touchdown passes on the day.

With 2 minutes left 2nd quarter, Eli Manning would throw interceptions on back to back drives, leading to 14 more points from the Chargers. Going into the half down 27-9, Giants fans knew that this one was all but over.

The Giants would try to surge back in the 2nd half, with the defense leading the charge, holding the red hot Chargers offense to only 3 more points. The damage was already done however, and an Odell Beckham Jr. touchdown followed by a Dwayne Harris touchdown later in the game would not be enough. The Giants fall to 3-2 on the season.

In other news, Shane Vereen left today's game early with an injured shoulder. An MRI will be performed on the shoulder tomorrow morning.

Giants Bounce Back, Give Denver First Loss of the Season


Eli Manning would throw for 2 touchdowns as well as rushing for 2 more.

DENVER -- The Giants looked red hot today on both sides of the ball as they beat the previously undefeated Broncos to the tune of 36-17. The Giants forced 3 interceptions, and Eli Manning threw for 2 touchdowns, while rushing for 2 as well.

Everyone who expected a shootout got quite the opposite. In fact, the first quarter resulted in 0 scoring, and at halftime the score was 13-7 in favour of the New York Giants. Eli Manning reached the end zone on a bootleg, and then threw a 12 yard td pass to Brandon Marshall. The Broncos would respond, with a Siemian touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders for 32 yards.

The only scoring in the 3rd quarter would come from an 8 yard Eli to OBJ connection, making the score 20-7.

The game was eventually closed out with a Rodgers-Cromartie interception that he also returned 38 yards for a touchdown. This was his 5th interception on the season.

In other news, a returning Weston Richburg would leave today's game early with a wrist injury. He will have an MRI done as the Giants return home.


DRC would return an interception for a touchdown to close the door on the Broncos, his 5th of the season and second of the game.

Giants Sideline Wilson Early, Defense Carry Team to 5-2


Olivier Vernon had 5 of the 10 Giants' sacks as the Giants defeated the undefeated Seahawks 32-27.


EAST RUTHERFORD -- The New York Giants increase to 5-2 on the year heading into the bye week thanks in part to a huge showing from the defense. The Giants racked up 10 sacks, 5 from Olivier Vernon on his own.

The Giants would be tied heading into the 2nd quarter when Seattle QB Russell Wilson had to leave the game early due to a shoulder injury. He would not return. Austin Davis, the backup, came in and the offense stalled for a bit. Davis would run out of time driving the Seattle comeback as they made the score 32-27 by the end of the game. He threw for 282 yards with 3 touchdowns. His one mistake, an interception to Jenoris Jenkins, was returned for a touchdown. Seattle also missed two field goals, which would have changed the outcome of the game.

Eli Manning is improving by the game as he completed 66% of his passes with a touchdown for 232 yards. The Giants also rushed for 133 yards, while the defense held Seattle to just 17 yards rushing. Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul, Center Weston Richburg and Running Back Paul Perkins would both leave the game early with injuries.
