Season 7 - Sugar Bowl - Oklahoma Sooners vs Moravian Greyhounds

Editors Note: One of my favourite every games I have played, just had everything with pretty realistic numbers for both sides. If Washington doesn't make the tackle to save the pick 6, it's a whole different game. If Park's doesn't jump on the fumble, just so many possible plot twists and to end it with the interception like it was special.

As we say goodbye to our seniors, many will remain fan favourites forever here in Bethlehem. The loss of 2 O-Line starters and 3 of the front 4 on the D line is a big worry for the new season.

Time to move onto the post season and finish recruiting for the new year.

Re: 2021 - Post Season - National Signing Day Preview

I hope Frederick goes to Akron, that could be a great story line to follow!

National Signing Day 2021

National Signing Day - or as we like to call it, National Grown Men getting angry with Teenagers not picking their school and being vile on social media day! But forget about all that noise, for these elite athletes the step up from high school to college will make or break them, the decisions they make now can shape their future and any aspirations they may have to play at the next level. Time to enjoy the moment and make the best decision possible.

Greyhounds secure 4 signings on National Signing Day to secure top 10 class

Bethlehem, PA. No-one quite expected the Greyhounds to load up this well on signing day as they addressed pretty much all their needs and managed to land a couple of surprise picks in the process.

As expected, the Greyhounds landed their 2nd 5 star recruit in ATH David Richwalksi, team-mate of already signed #1 player in the nation ATH Joel Hines. It had been looking likely for several weeks this would be where he would end up, but made it official now. What can the Greyhounds do with 2 elite team-mates, it sure is fun going to find out and seeing them both line up in the same side. Viewing figures from Utica, NY may just about to rise!

"It was always the plan." said Richwalski. "Me and Joel are like brothers and have been since starting high school basically living at each others houses and planned to dominate together at college. When the Greyhounds came after Joel they knew it was a 2 for 1 deal they were getting. I'm excited for the Greyhounds, they have two electric play-makers joining them."

#9 TE David Andrews & #95 DT Keith Baker get kitted up

As the commitments rolled in, it was a shock to the Greyhounds when #215 ranked, 4 star RB Brian Goins picked Illinois over the Greyhounds and Ohio State. With RB Kevin White a possible risk to the NFL draft after his Junior season, Goins was seen as a replacement for him. The 6'0, 211lb back has great speed and hands, but the Greyhounds now need to plan to stop him for the next 4 season's now.

As the day grew long, most of the players had signed but there was one player left, and it was probably the one the Greyhounds wanted the most, DT Keith Baker. The highly rated defensive tackle was a must to fill up a gap left by two departing seniors, and 1 minute before deadline, with the Greyhounds, Penn State and Pittsburgh waiting the news came through. Baker was going to be a Greyhound.

"I wanted to make a statement for all those team's who slept on me, who didn't think I would make the cut. I wanted to be the last name on people's lips today as they will remember me. The Greyhounds recruited me hard from day one, saw all my games and gave me a chance to start my freshman season. Now it's my turn to repay that faith on the field." said a highly pumped up Keith Baker.

Big school snubs for top 50 players, is this the year of the under-dog?

In a huge shocked, the #9 player in the nation, the second best quarterback this year, QB Clarence Frederick has shunned Power 5 conference teams to sign for Akron, yes that is not a typo, the Zips. The 6'3 signal caller swayed by the promise of starting for 4 years jumps straight to their #1 quarterback ahead of Sophomore Donta Carter. The Zips have gone 4-8 3 of the last 4 season's and will be looking to Frererick to move them along.

Can QB Clarence Frederick be the next Big Ben, small school to NFL?

#29 ranked OLB Brad Curry, the #2 OLB in the country snubbed USC in favour for a move to UNLV. The Rebels with the huge signing from the Trojans who many assumed this was just a formality pick for them. The incoming Curry will be ranked at the Rebels 7th best player as a true freshmen and 3rd best on the defensive side of the ball. What kind of impact can he have, I guess we shall all have to find out.

There was no underdog shocker with the #1 QB in the nation as QB Justin Taylor signed for the Ducks. He will have to sit a year behind the highly talented rSR QB Michael Jordan, but the scene is set for him to lead the team in 2023. With legitimate 4-40 40 speed, the duel-threat Taylor will take some stopping and could be the next Marcus Mariota for the Ducks.
