GIANTS DEAL VERNON AT DEADLINE

"We have some talented young players behind him." Giants head coach and GM DJ Poree said during a press conference after the trade was finalized. "They have progressed and worked hard in practice so we felt a level of confidence in making the deal."

The deal was Vernon going to the Panthers along with a 2019 4th round pick in exchange for Carolina's 2019 first rounder, a 2019 sixth rounder and a conditional 2020 fifth round pick.

"They (Carolina) contacted us earlier in the season but the offer wasn't as good and we weren't quite there on the younger players." Poree explained.

The Giants announced the signing of Dion Jordan shortly after the deal was finalized.

Paul Perkins ran for over 100 yards on just 14 carries and rookies Fisher Clinton chipped in 60 yards and two scores. Eli Manning tossed four touchdown passes as an efficient Giants offensive unit put up 42 points in a convincing win over the Redskins, stopping their losing streak at two games.

UGH, the Redskins grabbed Case Keenum? I need to catch up on that, but I understand why they lost. I like Keenum, but I definitely feel he was a one hit wonder with Minnesota. Eli still doing work ... and slinging it to Pryor, my man (who I refuse to let sign elsewhere in my CFM, because he works when deployed properly).

Pryor is sneaky good, I try to get him in most of my chises. Eli is having a great season, possibly on pace for his best ever in fact.
