For the first time in his six seasons as head coach in Kansas City (and in the first season with Patrick Mahomes II being his starting QB), Andy Reid has brought the Chiefs to the AFC title game. The last time KC got that far was the 1993 season, when they were ousted by the Buffalo Bills, who went on to their infamous fourth consecutive Super Bowl loss. On paper the Chiefs’ contest with the visiting Cincinnati Bengals was a mismatch, and on the field it looked like it was going to be a blowout when they went up 21-3 in the second quarter. But KC’s offense neglected to put up any points in the second half, allowing the Bungles to make things interesting late. With the Chiefs getting only a safety in the second half, Andy Dalton’s 28 yard touchdown pass to Gio Bernard at the two minute warning made the score 23-17. But instead of trying an onside kick, the Bengals kicked away, and never saw the ball again. The Chiefs had not run the ball effectively all game, until they needed it most, getting from three-deep man Charcandrick West what they hadn’t from Damien Williams and Spencer Ware. West was able to keep the Chiefs moving the sticks until Mahomes was able to take a knee, and KC is headed to Houston for an AFC title bout that will feature a pair of second-year signal callers.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis ended his post-game meeting with the press with a surprise retirement announcement. Although it was thought that Lewis, having won a playoff game for the first time in his tenure, would be safe for one more season, he stated “I haven’t told anybody this yet, but after last week I decided that our last game, whether it came today or ended up with a Super Bowl win, would be my last one as head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. I’m tired. More than tired. I’m exhausted. It’s time for me to pass the baton.”

Justin Houston closes in on a sack.
Damien Williams left a string of Bengals behind him on his first TD reception.
Williams’ second scoring catch was on a perfect strike from Patrick Mahomes.
Steven Nelson gets a punch-out vs. A.J. Green, who had only 2 catches.
Jessie Bates III has two end zone picks in two career playoff games.
Cordy Glenn came all the way from his LT position to deny the Chiefs a TD that was just sitting their waiting for them.
That Dalton fumble was followed by Eric Berry taking down Joe Mixon for a safety.
The last Chicago Bears team to make the playoffs (2010) got as far as the conference championship game (losing to the Packers). This year’s squad did not quite get that far. Chicago’s too-brief playoff run mirrored its regular season with home dominance and road struggles. 7-1 at home, the Bears smacked the Atlanta Falcons 31-16 in their wild card game at Soldier Field. With a 4-4 away record, Chicago sputtered to a 20-15 defeat by the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles in Philadelphia. It was also a case of as Micthell Trubiasky goes, so go the Bears. After a pair of scores staked them to a 9-0 first quarter lead, the Bears went into hibernation as Trubisky cooled and found it increasingly difficult to locate and connect with an open receiver, or one who could make a catch for first down yardage. Cody Parkey’s first quarter field goal was set up by a Bryce Callahan pick, and the only real mistake made by the Philly defense through the final three quarters was letting Allen Robinson get open deep to make his all-in-the-air 55 yard TD catch.
With the Bears down 2 points due to a blocked PAT and a failed two point conversion on their touchdowns, Trubisky was intercepted by Jalen Mills with 8:16 left in the game. Mills’ return put the ball at the Chicago 37, and the Eagles converted the turnover into a field goal, which was forced by a Nick Williams sacks. The Bears then had two cracks at getting a yard to move the sticks, but they turned the ball over on downs at their 34, and Philadelphia drove into the red zone as it ran out the clock.
In other Bears news, the Denver Broncos had requested and received permission to interview defensive coordinator Vic Fangio for their vacant head coach position. With Chicago’s season now over, Fangio is scheduled to meet with Denver officials on Wednesday.

Bryce Callahan’s INT was converted into a field goal and a 9-0 lead.
Things wen downhill for the Bears from there.
K-Mack can’t let a game go by without getting a sack.
Allen Robinson’s second TD catch seemed to get the Bears
back into the game, but it turned out to be their last gasp.
Prince Amukamara’s pick kept Chicago hanging around.
Nick Williams’ sack forced a field goal, which kept the Bears within a touchdown.
I think its helped recently that I've started doing what I saw somebody else say what they did, which is resizing the pics in software and not at the image hosting site.
