Re: Fear the Mullet: Mike Gundy's Oklahoma State Cowboys
Like SilverBullet said, Akron is typically an easy opponent to play, so should be an easy win, but you still can't count them out. Like the Oklahoma State choice, definitely following

Stillwater, OK --- The Oklahoma State Cowboys opened up their season with a 31-3 win over the Akron Zips. It was a gloomy afternoon in Stillwater with overcast skies and rain. The weather certainly affected the play today as both quarterbacks struggled to get going.
Both teams combined for less than 200 yards of passing on the day. The Cowboys, however, put up 296 yards on the ground. Justice Hill ran for 245 yards on 25 carries. JD King also added 62 yards on 10 carries. The Cowboys offensive line dominated Akron all afternoon in the run game. Taylor Cornelius struggled to complete passes, and his completion percentage was not helped by a few drops. The receiving corps definitely has work to do.
Defensively the Pokes were stout. They prevented big plays, and held strong when the Zips crossed in to Cowboy territory. After the game coach Gundy said he was pleased with the result of the game, but he noted that the Pokes have a long way to go. "I know the weather sucked today, but that's just an excuse. We have to be better in the pass game. We won't win games in the Big 12 if we are one dimensional," Gundy said. And he's not wrong. We had high expectations for Taylor Cornelius coming in to the season, and he did not look good today. We'll know more about just how good this Oklahoma State team is next week when Boise State comes to Stillwater.
