Defense has been killing it these last two games, and that looks to continue into the future with Ratliff's commitment.

How'd that 19-yard FG miss against Tennessee? Are you simming kicks or did you sneeze right when the kicking meter started?

A strong defense has been our mantle throughout this dynasty, I'd like to have a more well rounded defense in terms of pass/rush defense but it seems impossible in this game to stop quarterbacks throwing for 200+ a game. As you say the defense stepped up bigtime the last few games when the offense wasn't firing on all cylinders. Ratliff is a day one starter for sure.

Whilst sneezing would have been the funnier option. I do indeed sim all kicking scenarios, field goals are to easy on this game, as is kick returning so realism sakes I sim and as you can see it does in fact make an impact.

I feel like Holcombe has an opportunity here to cement his name in the record books in terms of his collegiate career.. dude is going to win over 30 games at this rate.

I have had some time off over Christmas so it has allowed me to get some game time in.

Holcombe has come into a very good team, and whilst that isn't taking away his talent, he is going to be losing some good players around him at the end of this season so I don't want to get that carried away just yet, as easy as it is for sure.

***************

Austin, Texas -- I think it is very clear to everyone that Tristen Holcombe will win a Heisman trophy at some point during his Texas career, and if it wasn't for his injury earlier this season then I think it would have been highly likely that the former five-star recruit would have been College Football's first true-freshman Heisman winner.

Whilst Holcombe's final stats of 192 passing yards along with 19 rushing will not blow anyone away it was his combined 3 touchdowns and the leadership shown as we watched the Longhorns cruise to a 38-9 win over Missouri on a warm Saturday afternoon in Austin on what was Senior day.

"He's just a joy to be around," Texas Head Coach Russell Warner said after the game. "Tristen is a natural-born leader with an extremely well-balanced range of talent. He is a great team, don't get me wrong but he's shown a few times this season that when the chips are down he can carry this offense."

Johnson broke an NCAA record with this pick.
#1 Texas (11-0, 9-0) never had to get out of first gear against Missouri, and all the Tigers could muster up was three field goals. Texas' junior safety Nick Johnson capped off another dominant defensive performance with a 101-yard pick-six breaking the NCAA record. If it wasn't for some third-quarter heroics from Missouri quarterback Solo Spencer then the Longhorns defense really could have held the Tigers under 100 yards of total offense, but evidently, Missouri finished with 230 offensive yards.

Damone Johnson, who is a finalist for the Lombardi Trophy recorded his 11th sack of the season, along with Ernest Cooper IV who has had a relatively quiet season on that front also sacking Spencer for his 3rd sack on the year.

Anthony Hill, another Longhorns defender up for major honors picked up his second interception of the year when he jumped the route of Missouri tight end Andrew Peterson. Hill, who last season won both the Bednarik and Dick Butkus awards is once again the front-runner to retain both awards in his final season with Texas.

"It's been an honor to play in this stadium for four years," an emotional Hill said. "There is no atmosphere like it on a Saturday for me, and I just hope I have repaid the faithful. I am not done yet, personal awards mean nothing if we do not go out ontop, we have a few massive games ahead of us that we need to be ready for."

Texas takes its second bye week of the season next week before traveling to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to take on Florida (4-6, 3-4). Texas has already booked its place in the SEC Championship game where they will once again take on a familiar foe in Georgia.

Anthony Hill picks off Solo Spencer.

Moss shakes off the Tigers defender.

A rare sight this season but Ernest Cooper sacks Spencer .

Le'Veon Moss catches the screenplay and takes it for six.

Holcombe walks it in just inside the pilon.
