Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Nearly caused a riot in Los Angeles when I sold Landon Donovan to Newcastle for $5 million.

EDIT: And the board is disappointed that we're not playing attacking football. We're 3rd in the league in scoring?!?!?!?!

Having this issue at the moment hot on the heels of asking for a higher % of transfer income. I'm in the middle of the transfer window and am frozen from making any deals?

Is your Board, Director of Footbal, or Youth Development negotiating contracts on your behalf? It looks like the game is taking into consideration contract offers that are out there.

Got it working, I think I had too many transfer targets. Thanks.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

i may be relegated for the first time in my fm career.

i may break down and cry

i may resign before we seal relegation

i may just move on with life, and work even harder to gain promotion.

Was this from the accidental promotion as well? Ouch.

Well I've got a little update with Portadown. We've managed a very good European run again and we're still actually in Europe! I went into the Champions League a round earlier, the 2nd, and faced Serbian champions Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade), who happen to be former Champions League winners. Pah, that means nothing to us! We finished the 1st leg by destroying them 5-0. Really didn't see that coming. They didn't offer anything in the 2nd leg, ending the game 1-1 on aggregate.

The third qualifying round brought easier opposition, but still tough, than last year in Slovakian side Zilina. A very tight and edgy 1st leg in Slovakia followed as we managed to take home a 2-1 lead to Northern Ireland. The 2nd leg was almost a carbon copy of the first, only this time, it ended up a 1-1 draw. This meant that we were 180 minutes from the Champions League groups, but also that we were guaranteed a place in the Europa League groups - payday secured!

In our way next were Polish champions Lech Poznan, our toughest opponents yet. Looking back at the stats, it was a game I felt we could have won, yet managed to lose 2-1 which left us a mountain to climb in the 2nd leg. We didn't play well at all in the 2nd leg and scored a late consolation to yet again lose 2-1, 4-2 on aggregate.

Our Europa League group is Athletic Bilbao, Fenerbahce and Genk. I quite fancy myself to get a result against Genk at home but it will still be a massive struggle to compete, but this team has known to throw up a few surprises.

Last but not least, I've got 2 things to finish on. Firstly, we've got over £4m in the bank, which is about £4m more than the rest of the division. Secondly, thanks to this European adventure, I've succeeded in asking the board to turn us professional, which will make us the only professional side in Northern Ireland.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I finally got around to the 2018 World Cup and the group of death (Spain, Germany, Ghana). Honestly, I kept putting it off because who wants to see all that work go up in flames? Well, 1-1 draw vs. Spain and a 2-1 win against Germany. We're through with either at least a draw against Ghana or a Spain win against Germany. If ****ing Ghana knocks us out...

EDIT: We're through. 2-1. Spain were the victims of the group as Germany beat them 1-0 to advance. We draw Cameroon in the first knockout round. We beat them in Cameroon 2-1 in a warmup friendly a couple weeks ago. Captain Michael Bradley is out for 2 weeks with a twisted ankle though

I can't believe we just won that group.
