Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Like many, my #1 want is better stat tracking in franchise/RTTS. For all the excellence that The Show has on the field, that's the one thing that always disappoints me about the game. I'm a HUGE stats nerd, so only being able to see a hitter's H, AB, HR, RBI, and AVG, and a pitcher's W, L, Ks, SVs, and ERA in their career stats is hugely underwhelming.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
the free agent market in the real world is growing more and more every year! Carlos Beltran just signed for 3yrs/45M .... Never in The Show would ANY AI team offer that, due to his age, no matter the production.... Also , the 189M threshold would be another way to make franchise mode more realistic.
Also it was recently said somewhere that more teams are locking up their younger players meaning less and less star players are making it to free agency..I think the CPU should be locking up their players more and enhance the trade dynamic in the game.Comment

I agree salaries would be awesome if they were more realistic, or have the ability to set it before you start your franchise..say you want to do a historical franchise so you could have the old school contracts and lower budgets or a present day chise and have $100 million and $200 million dollar contracts.

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
There's so many things I'd like to see implemented...Better trade and free agent logic so I don't have to do 30 team control...better animations and player-specific behaviors, etc.
What I really, really want though is an overhaul of the draft. The ability to build draft classes to start with, kind of like what is in NBA 2K (I know I mention that game a lot for things I want out of The Show, but it's because they get so much right). I want to see more realistic ratings for prospects, such as guys out of high school with 85+ speed, raw power (I wish strength and bat speed were ratings, these would be good things for raw prospects to excel in), etc. The types of players that The Show generates for the draft are ridiculous and ruin the immersion too. I can't remember how many 19 year old 5'7" 200lb right fielders I've seen who are black with blonde hair and chops. It's preposterous. Obviously the ability to create and download draft classes would fix this, but if that's not an option at least make the features of players realistic. I want a deeper draft with more sleeper picks who actually start off rated high, not just have good potential. Finally, have the blue chip prospects actually be coveted in the draft. Felt weird having these guys who are supposed to be the best of the best rarely be rated better than guys you find through scouting.Comment

Can't agree anymore! Extensions should be getting done during Spring training & the season, to realistic numbers. & as to the trade dynamic, oh boy does that need a lot of work done to it. Nevertheless , I don't want to come across as bashing the game, Im just offering ways as to how I believe my favorite video game can be better.

The gameplay right now is great, the AI plays very well in franchise play. For me its just, "the under the hood" stuff. For example: replacing a starting pitcher with another starting pitcher instead of a relief pitcher for his next schedule start.Comment

Hey guys remember the Show doesn't have the MLB license to do the salaries how we would like. I dont know if that would change for the PS4. I look forward to a great product for the PS4.

Just speculation, no way to know until we get some more info.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
And last year MLBTS stated they had a bigger relationship with MLB.com, so that should mean their overall relationship with the MLB is expanding. Im not even asking for exact contracts, but more realistic type contracts with the work around thats already in the show with Free Agent 3 swap method would help, as of now if you do this it pretty much breaks the franchise mode because the teams cant handle real budgets and crazy real contracts...my suggestion was pick the type of budget you want to run..kinda like FIFA has strict, moderate and lenient, but different. I just crave more depth in every aspect of being a GM. I also would like more player development options that Knight has outlined over and over again...I like when I agree with him since he has access more than most and likes to share when he can lol.
I definitely wish some attributes were more static and they included bat speed and L/R splits for pitchers. And so much more like scouting ratings instead of 0-100Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
You know a game is great when it's the main reason you get a new system! I got ps4 for the mlb.tv app, and mlb the show. Can't wait until we start hearing news!1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
All the home run animations that already exist in the game, use them for all well hit balls, not just no doubt home runs.
*The Jose Bautista swing is nice but takes away from his signature uniqueness if everyone is using it.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
It would be cool to have rainouts and doubleheaders. Or lets say you're in the 6th inning of a game, and the rain forces you to end the game early, giving you a win or loss just like real games.1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Would rainouts or doubleheaders be anything other than a nuisance when put into a videogame (or change much of anything really)? I know I'd be pretty upset if I lost a game because the CPU decided to make it start raining in the 7th inning. I'd be fine with implementing poor weather conditions and have it affect the gameplay (balls hydroplane on wet grass, the wind picks up, etc), but having games cut short because of a randomly-generated event wouldn't work at all in my opinion.Comment

I agree with you though. I'd much rather see weather have a noticeable effect on the action within the game than I would like to see doubleheaders.Comment
