Yeah, sounds like what you get when you work on three different systems at the same time in the same time cycle in a short year however I will reserve my own judgement until Tues. I have been playing 14 on the PS3 and enjoying it alot and I am hoping it will be worth the transfer to my PS4 ( LOL ) oh well., I like what I have seen so far but the loading times are a concern from what Inhocmark has said.

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I switched to PS from xbox for the show, but it didn't make a lot of sense for me to buy a PS3 with the PS4 coming out. So you could say that I "bought a PS4 just for the show" but even if this version is a little rough, I view the switch from xbox to ps as an investment in being able to play baseball for the duration of this console cycle.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I'm basically in the same boat and with the common complaint about The Show PS4 being its too similar in gameplay to PS3 I'm not worried. I've never played MLB The Show and I've always heard it's the best sports game out there so as long as it looks like a PS4 game should and plays like that same game that was getting so much acclaim I think I'll be satisfied.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Also, after playing 2k11 for a month or so I went back to MLB 09 the show on my ps2. And the gameplay was still better even though 09 was two years older and on a much older consoleComment

For those wondering. You can pre-order a digital download code through a brick and mortar gamestop store, and it is eligible for the $20 Trade-In bonus with the PS3 version. That's how I'm doing my deal at my local store and I have been assured by the manager at the store that there won't be any problem with the deal when I show up on Tuesday.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I viewed Inhocmark's impression after owning the game now for a couple of days. And I reviewed it against my own expectations of the game which I hold. It hits me why I'm not carried away with disappointed like some others feel like they are. And yes I just bought my playstation 4 just for this game and it shipped to me yesterday with nothing to do with but wait for that digital download to start ticking. I'm stoked for Tuesday midnight.
Please read and you can understand my point of view and it's not that I'm not expecting a very special new generation game from SCEA in MLB 14 the Show. Because I very much so do, and that remains to be seen. I will only find out how this game met my satisfaction once I get to play it, but this is from my perspective and as a pupil of programming myself I feel like I can even more closely relate to what they Have to acheive in this PS4 debut, based on what they left off in PS3 (being the #1 sports franchise of that generation). Even as a half biased FIFA supporter I have to admit that very easily.
Ultimately, my impression as a Far from casual player of this series is that they are building the block from where they left off in the PS3 world. What that means to me is, there is not a massive technological overhaul in the PS4 world just yet with the likes of retractable roofing, unbelievably new looking player/fan/umpire models or unprecedented collisions or animations. But what I can see is best described as an extra-ordinary advancement from where you left off in the Playstation 3.
The new batting camera, for one, which I'm not sure is in the PS3 is a marvelous addition and looks fantastic on the game. The new addition revealed today of a dynamic catch region is very exciting as well, especially if you got to see it. The presence of the ball boys also sticks with me, the sound and presentations were not on display in this live stream but it was very evident a brand new feel of presentations were on display feeling very from the PS3 era, in my opinion.
Gameplay, to me feel the most unchanged overall but there are very important new things that I saw which were impressive. Firstly, they don't need to overhaul the gameplay anyway because that's the foundation that was set and built by the Playstation 3 era which makes the game the #1 sports game to most of us. However, what I found very evident, the A.I of the batters which mentioned as a feature in the features list. I feel like their strike zone has become a little more advanced because I saw them getting to pitches out of the zone, but still hittable enough to make contact. Even more, I was pleasantly surprised to see the pitchers behavior with runners on base, looking off runners, and authentic looking pickoff attempt strategy on display.
We will learn more about gameplay of course when we get our hands on this game ourselves. But again, my impression is they have built on what we had and I see signs that we are in store for a lot of good surprises and improvements to gameplay exclusive to the PS4 version.
The biggest cons I saw personally were, occasional ghosting glitches in replays and cutscenes (nothing major, but like a foot stepping through a bag, and a first base minor leg ghosting). Secondly I personally get annoyed with the crowd directly behind homeplate moving around too much, and vendors appearing in the 1st row behind homeplate. It seemed toned down but that's still a presence in the game. Most of you may not ever even care about that.Red LegendComment

If people are complaining that the ps4 version plays like the ps3 version they need to check themselves. That should be a praise not a complaint.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
First off this is a joke before anyone starts.....
After the amazingly beautiful nba2k wowed us then tried to fleece us with a horrible monetary system. ..
Maybe extra lighting, missing fly-ins, 900 more fan models and all the other missing features are actually unlockables using stubs?
$10 per lit sign? $5 pet extra fan model?
$20 for dlc fly ins?Comment
