Which path to go for my Mets franchise? I'm currently 4 games under in June and looking to make a change for now and for the future. The Marlins and Cubs are out and in rebuild mode and the Rockies are in it and need help at SP and 2b and have a ton of OF. So I have 2 paths to choose from. All my proposals were accepted but I didn't save the roster as I'm not sure wich way to go.

Path 1.

Mets get Javier Baez for R Montero and another P prospect.
Mets get C Dickerson, Josh Rutledge, T Chatwood for Niese and Murphy.

Path 2

Mets get Giancarlo and no name low prospect for Niese, Murphy, Plawecki and Montero.

Cubs are out of it, yet you want them to trade away Baez. It's never going to happen.

Why would they trade their #1 prospect in their farm system and the #1 SS prospect in baseball for a pitcher who is already 23 and in real life is 4-2 in 11 starts in AAA.

If the Cubs trade a SS, they trade Castro which I don't believe they will. Bryant figures to move to the RF, Baez can play 3B and Russell can go to 2B or Castro can move to 2B and Russell stays at SS. Alcantara will likely end up in CF with Soler or Almora in LF. Or chances are one of them is dealt for pitching.

Also I don't believe Stanton goes to NY without Syndergaard in the deal and I would think they would also ask for 1B D. Smith as they don't have a current young 1B in their system. They might also ask for Nimmo to replace Stanton in the OF.

I totally get trying to trade for young studs on other teams but to get them you have to give up your best prospects in return, not the guy's you don't envision having a future with your team.

There is a reason why Seattle didn't trade T. Walker, M. Zunino, N. Franklin and others for Stanton last season. It's called no GM wants to be the guy who gives away his farm for 1 player.

You presented the best possible reason to not make trade 1 and trade 3 right there. The Cubs are rebuilding, they're not giving up Baez. I just don't see it happening for anything short of Wheeler + Syndergaard realistically.

In the Marlins scenario, they're also rebuilding and don't need Niese or Murphy. It would take at least Wheeler + Syndergaard + Montero + Plawecki + Nimmo/Flores. Considering you're in the same division.

The other part 1 option is okay, but I think you could get a little more if your guys are playing decently. Pick one of Herrera or Story to go with Rutledge + Chatwood or Dickerson

Would it be kinda realistic to trade Josh Bell (Pirates OF) because Marte, McCutchen, and Polanco are all gonna be the outfielders of the future?

So made a trade in my LAD chise. I moved zach lee to San Fran for Sandoval. The giants are almost 20 games out of first. Plus he wasn't playing great. I saw the trade suggested before and it appears to match the spreadsheet. Just wanted opinions

Now AC - with your blue jays knowledge would you consider a Hamels/Lee + Utley for Pompey Sanchez and Norris fair value?

I'm not AC, but I think you could probably get another small piece back with that.

The Phillies would be getting two top 50 prospects (Pompey + Norris) and another in the top 100 (Sanchez). If the Jays throw in a high C, I think that should be fair.

Also, do you guys play all 162 in full or simulate a lot?

I'm tired of fake players, bad trades, so I'm about to scrap the franchise midyear which hurts since I do play all the games in full.

I love the Operation Sports Full Minor league roster... it's the most realistic and the most enjoyable with all the real life players in there.

OSFM Hybrid 2.1 by Willard76

i'm just above .500 at the end of april with the mets with no production out of tejada or flores at short. would like to make a trade but don't want to part ways with syndergaard what do you recommend?

I agree with the early statement of why not. He was a 2nd round pick in 2011 and well he is still in their Top-10 of prospects, you make a valued point they have 3 very good young OF's already on the MLB roster, plus Harrison who can play the OF plus have A. Meadows available down the road as well.

As far as games played, I play every 3rd game starting with my #3 SP, then use my #1, then the #4, then the #2, then the #5, then back to the #3. That way I pitch with everyone in my rotation instead of just always playing with King Felix in my M's Franchise.

As far as rosters I any of the ones already mentioned are great.

I find the spreadsheet very useful for at least basing trade ideas around. However it should be understood that the spreadsheet is not tailored for everyone's franchise. Players could over/under perform their values thus changing things. But it gives a good baseline for what to look for in any deals.

I think also it depends on what roster set you use. OSFM is different than others and can affect values. Prospects especially, can be B potential in the OSFM but in real life could be blowing up and worthy of an A which changes their spreadsheet value.

I think using the spreadsheet and then asking here for more clarification is a good way to keep things fair and realistic so thanks to everyone who participates regularly.

I think that's way too little to ask in return for BOTH Lee/Hamels AND Utley. I know it's RAJ here, but the Phillies are getting destroyed. imo Aaron Sanchez is turning out to be a pretty big disappointment because the guy just won't ever have even mediocre command (he has even admitted it himself, lol). Stuff only gets you so far.

Aside from that, the return you've indicated would probably not get Hamels by himself. It would probably be ok for Lee solo, but adding in Utley will boost the price quite a bit (he's an All-Star still).

Please go in neither one of these ways. Both of these frameworks are just bad, bad, bad. Not even close to fair value for either Baez or Stanton and neither team's strategy would make this remotely realistic.

I'm not a fan. It's sort of rare to see intra-division trade. It's even more rare for big rivals (Red Sox-Yankees, Cubs-Cards, Dodgers-Giants) to do business. And it's microscopically rare for these rivals to deal significant pieces when they do make deals. I could imagine near riots in the bay area if this deal happened. Colletti would have to protect his neck, nah'mean?
