Oh goodness no, until I am given an OOTP type front end to supplement the game play, 'realism' is not much more than a dream. We change the data set (OS roster) for the base code, no result can be verified (don't get me started on scea interpretation of budget/salary). As the cpu 'trade logic' in the game is constantly searching for...parody?...my goal is to balance the simulation as much as possible.

But are you saying with Plouffe, Morales, Mauer, etc. at the corners, MIN wouldn't shop Sano considering the contract they just gave Hughes? Seems to me they saw a weak AL central and might want to make a run. Sano is 12-18 months away from helping, TJ or not. I know you're right, just a little devils advocate for my 2nd favorite D.R. player.

It's parity, lol. What do you mean by SCEA interpretation of budget?

None of those guys are long term options imo. Plus, Sano is probably gonna end up in right.

I hate when I do that. My brain works faster than my fingers and I trust spellchecker way too much.

Of all the people to ask me that question... we have better topics to debate than the total disregard of contract value and team budget in the game. I turn budgets off, if for no other reason, a good GM/player personnel guy can get extra money from an owner. It's the simple things that are wrong that bug me. By season 3 of simulation, with 30 team control, you might be able to take twice the time you play the game to manage each team and get close. This is easy stuff, no reason not to start us off on the right foot.

Oh, that's what you mean. Yeah, I agree. I thought you were leading in the direction of the ratio of a real life dollar to an SCEA dollar for contracts. Which would be 1.3. As found by an old member/friend of mine.

There is no reason we need Bogaerts in that deal. The Sox have enough of a farm system to intrigue Miami with a pretty solid offer.

Also, Lowell was a main piece in that deal.

Sano is gonna move to a corner OF spot. Plus Sano>>>>>Plouffe, and Morales is strictly a DH.

I think if the Marlins say they won't do the deal without Bogaerts involved then the Red Sox would think about it

The Marlins don't do that deal without Bogaerts. Period. You can't just package enough averageish pieces until you get equal value to a superstar.

Which brings me back to the beginning...why a ratio at all? I'm sure there is a common sense answer for it, but other than MLB license issues, I can't figure it.

Lowell was 31 when he was traded, with a huge contract (for the time). Also coming from BOS was a young A. Sanchez. If you're getting a decade solution in RF, I want at least 2 decade type prospects in return, plus pieces.

Beltre answer tomorrow. It requires a little thought/math and the sun set long ago EST.

No, that's your answer. It's licensing stuff. Ramone is a good dude. He wouldn't lie about that.

I'm EST too haha, gonna be up all night thinking on this stuff. I should get a life.

Calhoun + Cron for Archer seems solid, actually.
