1. I don't see 1 happening. Not saying Severino is not good, it's just that Arismendy is better and more advanced. Like kmac mentioned above, looke like you are trying to get Arismendy come hell or high water. I'd just suggest going for a 2-team deal and not overcomplicating with 3 teams. It's not impossible to get him with Blue Jays spects, but prospect-prospect trades are less common and you might be holding out on the spects that you would need to give up.

It just seems like a very good fit. Oh well.

2. If you do the Russell deal, it would be highly unrealistic for the A's to deal Robertson also. He's the reason they felt they could deal Addison. Plus, I would really like an explanation of this "I will eat cash" scenario since I don't see how you can do that without the ability to edit contracts. How you plan to do dat?

Answered the contracts thing below. And I'd figure that if they got a guy like Reyes heavily discounted they'd deal him now as he'd be able to step in immediately and help them go very far in the playoffs.

3. A pitching prospect or Alen Hanson

Not Bell + Hanson like kmac said?

4. I don't see this as an option with Machado/Hardy/Schoop

Schoop is pretty bad imo.

5. Any prospect other than Lindor.

Thing is, I don't really like anyone else lol. Think they'd deal Santana? I'd definitely be interested in that. He was on the table for a Price deal a while ago along with another really good piece that I momentarily forget. I could eat some cash and take on the Swisher contract.

Again, eating money...like, how? I would love to know how to do this if it is possible.

My idea right now.

1. Release the player.
2. Turn waivers on manual.
3. No one claims him.
4. Sign him to the new team at a discounted rate.
5. Trade the players to your team.

Dunno how much cash that would eat though.

I've identified clear sellers in the Phillies, Marlins, Cubs, Rockies, Giants Orioles, and White Sox. There are clear buyers like the Dodgers and other big market teams and teams that are in the race but I don't feel comfortable making big moves with like Houston and Minnesota. All trades up until this weekend in real life have been made. Here are my big trade ideas I'd appreciate feedback on:

Phillies and Dodgers:

Phillies send Cole Hamels and Carlos Ruiz for Julio Urias(A), Joc Pederson(B), and Zach Lee(B).

Hamels is 8-5 with a 2.65 ERA, the Dodgers have a solid rotation but this deal solidifies their rotation for a world series push. Ruiz is being added as AJ Ellis is out 2 months and Tim Fedorowicz is hitting .179 in his absence.

Looks like your not getting enough back. That is a Hamels alone type of deal.

Phillies and Red Sox

Phillies send Cliff Lee for Henry Ownes (A) and Blake Swihart (B)

Lee is 6-9 but with a 2.67 ERA. Lester is on the DL for a month and the Sox currently have only 1 pitcher with a sub 4 ERA.

No, we would not trade Owens and Swihart for Lee. We don't have a serious need for him, and if at all we would trade them for Hamels instead.

Giants and Blue Jays:

Giants send Pablo Sandoval for Aaron Sanchez(A) and Dalton Pompey(C)

Sanodval is killing the ball in his walk year with a .290 avg, 20 HR, and 64 RBI on a team out of the race. Brett Lowrie is hitting .217 but could move to second base where Ryan Goins is hitting .201 as the starter. If Sanchez is too much for a rental player I could add Norris or Osuna who are both B potential.

I think overpay for TOR.

Orioles and Tigers:

Baltimore sends JJ Hardy for Corey Knebel (B)

Hardy is only hitting .248 but he has 16 HR and 40 RBI. Jose Iglesias is hitting .221 with 2 HR's for Detroit.

Detroit still thinks pretty highly of Iglesias and his defense.

Orioles and Mariners:

Orioles send Nelson Cruz for Gabby Guerrero(B) and Patrick Kiviehan(B)

Cruz is hitting .264 with 22 HR and 52 RBI. Endy Chavez is hitting .197 as the starting CF for SEA, but Dustin Ackley will move to CF from LF

Not a bad deal.

Phillies and Yankees:

Phillies send Jonathan Papelbon for Gary Sanchez(B)

David Robertson has a 5.64 ERA as the closer for the Yanks. Papelbon has a 1.82 ERA with 22 saves for the Phillies.

Yankees overpay.

I'm also considering dealing CarGo because the Rockies are in dire straits financial in the OSFM roster with him and Tulo's salary. I would think CarGo more likely to be dealt than Tulo. The Padres could use a top of the rotation starter as well.

There's some smaller deals I'll make on my own, but I would love feedback on these bigger deals from anyone who is willing to read through all that haha. Thanks guys.

Possibly, but only if PIT is really running away with the division and has their eyes on a World Series AND Jordy Mercer is giving them nothing.

It might work. You may have to edit attributes first to make the new deal much different from the current deal. For example, edit Reyes down to a scrub, release him, and sign him cheap. Then edit one of your own guys to a stud, release him, and sign for beaucoup Canadian bucks. It's a lot of work, but probably not that bad if used rarely.

I meant Hanson or Bell, but I don't think it's inconceivable to get both of them. If you feel bad for taking their best position prospects, throw in one of your own that you're willing to part with. Someone that you view as a high C or a very low B.

Reyes + $ + _____ for Hanson + Bell + Clay Holmes

That's not a bad deal at all, in my opinion. The Pirates would definitely have to be in the thick of things though.

Anxious is not the word I'd use. I'd use opportunistic. No chance in hell Theo/Hoyer uses prospects to help move him. But if a contender wants him and wants us to pay some salary AND we get a decent spect, then maybe. Definitely not a desperate or anxious situation with our payroll being at rock bottom anyway.

As long as you're ok with 100% unrealistic. No chance the Twins trade Sano away for prospects in a realistic sense. You can probably scrape together enough value to make a relatively fair deal. But, it reeks of unrealism imo.

I don't mind unrealism. Thank goodness because the Mets being 12 games better than the Marlins and Harvey having a 1.59 ERA (wtf, his real ERA is, literally, more than twice that) would otherwise drive me up a wall for starters. Not to mention me actually wanting to make the Marlins better instead of .400 fodder for another decade.

As long as the transaction is fair to me paying slightly too much, I don't mind at least considering it. Just don't want to rip the CPU teams off, especially for high-end talent/prospects.

KBlover - J. Marisnick/R. Johnson or grab your glove. It doesn't matter this year, we're building for 2-3 years to make a run.

Side note: would somebody come in here and ask for help for the O's to win? Every franchise I see come through has the O's losing. They are leading the division, you'd think 1 chise has them winning!!

True, was thinking of using Marisnick in some fashion. He's got a decent glove on him and probably can train him into a defensive specialist with an okay bat in the meantime.

Sadly, the O's are struggling in my franchise. They have a .460 record but are just 7 1/2 out for a wild card spot, so a good second half could turn things around.

Actually google translate did a terrible job. I just typed in English what I wanted to say in French and the translator couldn't even handle an easy word like "seulement," which just means "only." I guess we are not being replaced by our machine overlords any time soon.
