Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Congrats Oakland A's fans, you have a GM who wants to win in 2014, wish he was in Seattle....

Before you can truly figure out who was the big winner here, we will have to see if Lester really does resign with Boston. If he does, Boston wins big as they will have Lester and Cespedes for a 2015 push. Question then is does Cespedes resign with Boston or could we see him in a Yankee or Dodger uniform in 2016.

But didn't the Rockies receive cash for him?

Put yourself in Cespedes shoes...do you leave Fenway? Ever? I swear, the guy is going to throw someone out at first from a shot off the Monster. Book it. And the tower shots that drop in LF at O.co. end up in the parking lot in Boston.

In the end, I don't think Lester signs up with Boston or Oakland.

Yeah, which doesn't mean a heck of a lot. If the other team didn't trade an actual player for someone, their value isn't really comparable. Does that make sense?

Putting him on waivers and having the Yankees pick him up is probably the best thing you can do.

Yea makes sense. Just trying to keep the game realistic and keep up with real life as long as the trades makes sense in my chise with what the standings look like.

Yeah, Lester definitely isn't going to resign with Oakland. Don't think that was ever an option.

Now that he's not tied to draft pick compensation, a lot of teams are going to throw money at him this offseason.

It's definitely a homer thought, but I see the Cubs as a dark horse for Lester, less than if he had stayed and had the pick attached, but still a player.

It's possible. My theory is he signs with Houston. 7 years, crazy money. Astros TV deal is hung up in court right now. They should wrap it up in time to act like the 4th largest market in the country and by themselves a leader/face.

                    Joe Kelly is the man.

I'm seriously curious to see how these trades are gonna be justified within this thread because I know if anyone purposed Lackey for Craig and Kelly it would have been deemed unfair or unrealistic

Craig and Kelly for Lackey is absolutely fair and realistic, as was Lester/Cespedes, considering the stats and controllability of all players involved.

The spreadsheet says Allen Craig is unrealistic because he is a cornerstone lol. The cardinals don't see him that way.
