Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Also I am curious, I know last year you posted your Tampa Bay Franchise, but havn't seen your Marlins one this year. Are you posting it on another site? Would love to have a solid Fish Franchise to folllow, there really isn't any going on right now in the Dynasty section right now
I have thought about doing a dynasty again - I don't know that I have time to do the posting (playing the games is "no problem" - could QC if forced and push came to shove) but the updating, photos, etc.
Last year, it could take me up to 2-3 hrs to do a post. Not sure I could give that commitment again. I might consider it when I get to Year 2, though, if I can find a way to shorten the time cost.
And Capps IS awesome - so I'm surprised the Marlins didn't trade him too *rolls eyes*"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Nice post - makes a lot of sense.

I like following your posts in the Franchise thread. I think your updates are pretty cool and in depth.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I know in in the wrong forum for this but I trust you guys. It seems like my settings are off. I have a team era of 2.03 at the end of June. Seems too low. Next closest team is at 2.66. Every now and then the CPU goes off on me but usually I only give up a run or two. I have the contact at 6. The power at 6 clicks and the solid hits at 5. Ideas?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In my franchise I'd like to duplicate the Cards-Red Sox trade from today but Corey Littrell isn't created on the Red Sox for the franchise I'm using. I don't know what his value is but is there another Red Sox with similar value I could pull here to make it somewhat even?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am going to wait until any real trades are made but if by chance Lester/Miller & Uehara are not traded what kind of package would I be looking at if I trade them to the Dodgers.
Under my trade I WOULD have a stipulation that all three would resign in hopes of a better deal.
I was also looking at possibly adding Lackey/Middlebrooks as part of the deal also if it would net a better package.Red soxComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I have a question for the sake of realism within a franchise mode that is almost to All Star Break.
First, here is the setup....
I am using the Indians and I am leading the AL Central around 6.5 games up on the Royals. There are quite a few surprising teams struggling (the Tigers are 16 games below .500, for example).
Other teams are in fire sale mode (The Yankees have had Sabathia, A-Rod and others on the trading block).
The Question
Does it 'violate' the idea of realism if the track of the Franchise Mode dictates that some teams might be 'buyers' or 'sellers' when their real life counter-parts are not?Comment

Your franchise is it's own world so things are different. If the Rays are doing good, top of the division good, I don't see them trading Price. I didn't make them trade him in my Chise because they were contending, no like in real lifeComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm not sure how the game does it, but it can't hurt to take a look for yourself at the team and the record it has.
I'll use the Red Sox for example. If they're winning and leading the division in your franchise, it would make sense for them to not sell off. It would be "realistic." They'd add, and push for the playoffs. If they're in the situation they're in now, they could make some moves like yesterday.
Realism is kind of subjective, honestly. Since your franchise could go in literally a million different directions, you gotta make that call yourself.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You should be fine, as long as you give a little info on what you're trying to accomplish with each trade. You know, like stats, how each team is doing and why you think the trade should be made. Just basic stuff like that and you shouldn't get crucified, lol.
The spreadsheet is a good tool to get some trades started, although it isn't gospel. There's a lot of factors that could change values. But, for what it's worth, the spreadsheet is very useful.Comment
