Thats what I was thinking. I'm not sure how realistic Hamels to the Cubs would be. I can see them keeping their prospects and using their money to lure in some of the Free Agents instead. Just trying to think outside the box instead of the Hamles to the Dodgers scenario I've played out before.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am trying to build some power in the Cardinals lineup and was wondering if I could land Cespedes without offering:
Miller or Wacha? Or will I need to include Miller or Wacha in a deal?
Thanks.Comment

You could probably get him based around Carlos Martinez insteadFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

The Cubs is a dark horse option, I agree. If you don't want to play out the Dodgers as a trade partner, either team from the Price sweepstakes (Detroit, Seattle, Baltimore) could work and also the Red Sox.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Could the Brewers be another option for Hamels? They are lacking a solid ace and have a good rotation, but the addition of Hamels could give them a leg up in the NL Central.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
1) Do the Brewers even have enough prospects or MLB talent to get Hamels away from the Phillies? Around the deadline it was stated time and time again that the Phils were asking for "the world" for Hamels.
2) Are the Brewers going to want to pay a pitcher $22.5 million a season for at least the next 4 years?
I'd say no to both.
Sure, it's a good fit, but Hamels would fit in nicely with any MLB team."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

100% agree here. Unless they decide to build a package around a guy like Segura, the Brew Crew can't pull it off. Their farm system was ranked as the worst in the majors this spring by Espn. I think MLB.com had them second to worst or something like thatFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

As a Phils fan if we were to trade Hamels to the Brew Crew the only way I would watch the phillies again after the trade would be if we got Segura.. like others said above no shot the Brewers would pull that one off without giving Segura. If they somehow did... Then Amaro a big idiot... he is the BIGGEST idiot.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm trying to bolster up my bullpen in my Angels franchise (check it out, link in my signature) and I've landed on Tyler Clippard. I'm alright with giving them C.J. Cron, he fills a need for them, but I think I need to give them another piece. Any ideas? This is all without the trades that happened in real life so I've got a few pieces I can ship.Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment

Clippard for Cron is definitely fair. I'd say you might even be able to net another minor piece from the Nationals. May I suggest Tyler Moore to give you a 1B/LF replacement for Cron in AAA?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
