From a realistic perspective I think D. Santana is very tradable, especially with Marsinek there now. From a salary perspective, once HOU tv deal gets out of court, I would expect them to act like the nation's 4th largest market and start spending some money. Also read recently JL may be on the hot seat. Perhaps a potential exit may help that spending spree.

Sure I reach a little here but eat some of Rollins contact and I don't see this being too out of the realm.

What do you guys think a breakout Anthony Gose is worth? 23 years old, .310/.373/.514, 85 POT.

We should start with a ped test. Are the MLB or AAA numbers? If these are MLB numbers and he's playing his D, I would say B-/B-.

What point of the season and how many AB are we looking at?

A breakout Gose with a year's worth of at-bats would be pretty valuable, I'd think. Less so at the deadline though.

          Two mid B's, a mid + a low B. Something like that.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

It's the 2015 season, and the O's are out of it dwelling in the cellar in my franchise and Chris Davis is batting a solid .263 with 23 HR and 56 RBI. The Pirates need a 1st sacker and are a game ahead of the competition in the NL Central

I'm thinking of "enforcing" a trade as follows

            O's Get:
            Josh Bell

            Pirates Get:
            Chris Davis

It won't be a one for one trade, but I would like to know your thoughts on who I can add to this trade? Maybe Tallion?

            Thanks for the insight.

The Pirates are pretty wary of giving up their prospects. I could see either Bell or Taillon going, but not both for a rental. Maybe one of them and a mid level prospect or two? I think Bell is expendable with the outfield being set in Pittsburgh for awhile.

The Pirates would never package Bell and Taillon together and I don't see them parting ways with Taillon at all. Considering how solid Pittsburgh's outfield is, Bell is a piece that could be shopped. For Davis, I could see Bell and then maybe throwing in a C level pitching prospect, especially if he's only going to be around for a few months before hitting free agency.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So I'm sure some of you are aware of my Angels franchise I have going in the Dynasty forums, so I have a question about next season for my Halos.

What do you guys realistically think the market would be for Albert Pujols? With 6 games left to play on the season, he leads the AL in RBIs with 110, is top 5 in home runs with 32, and is top 5 in BA with a .303. With all that, it's clear Albert is playing some great baseball and is showing some flashes of his old Cardinals days.

Now I've seen some people deal Albert away in their franchises, but I could never wrap my head around it. Albert has 8 years and $212M currently left on his contract so I honestly can't see any team making a move for him.

If I could deal him away next season, I'd like to take on an established first baseman to fill the void and then maybe a couple of prospects to boost the farm system, but that's just a robbery for a would be 35 year old man right? The numbers don't lie though.

So tell me, am I stupid for even considering this or do I have a legitimate chance at getting rid of Big Al and only having to deal with Hamilton's contract?

Doesn't Davis get a new contract after 2014? What's his deal with the O's? If it's like 6-years @ $20M+ then I doubt the Pirates go for that. They'd probably just try to find a much cheaper option.

How many HR's did Davis hit in '14? I am going to wager that, including the numbers above, he is going total somewhere around 120 dating back to '13. I would guess that is the most by 1 player in this franchise.

Given the above assumptions, Marte + Glasnow. Bell can replace Marte in PIT who will be in a Cespedes type situation with him in the next year or two. '17? Davis arb number had to be high so this can't be the best deal for PIT.

                      How is L. Duda doing?

I think the Angels are going to have to pay that one. Well after he's done playing. The leagues most expensive hitting coach. NYY is your only hope/dream but that's a pretty big stretch.

@Hamp: Davis belted 36 HR's in 2014. I haven't checked in on L. Duda yet, but Ike Davis is still with PIT in my 'chise. I can't imagine that they would relive the situation that happened in New York with Duda and Davis. I think Marte/Bell and Glasnow would be fair.

To the O's fans out there, how's the farm doing when it comes to their infield prospects? Maybe I'll swap Glasnow for an IF prospect if need be.

@NDA: I'm not sure that the O's have extended Davis. It doesn't seem likely that they will. I'm assuming he'll reach FA since he's a Boras client.

I'd only see this happening if Beltran retires and Teix moves to DH. Even then, I'd see a logjam in the future with Pujols/McCann/Sanchez(if he sticks around) at first base.

Though it would be interesting to see the game incorporate a salary dump in trades.

Os best infield prospects came up in the last couple years with Machado and Scoop. They have some guys who can play down there but I wouldn't call them prospects in Lombardozzi and Weeks. They have some decent catching prospects in Michael Ohlman and Chance Sisqo but both are sways away. Christian Walker who was moved up to AAA recently has been killing it both in AA and AAA since the move but has questions about wether he has the power to hold down 1st in the big leagues. Position players are a weak spot in there system its mostly pitching specs.
