Surprisingly fair. Love it. Although it's entirely dependent on Miller performing, which is iffy.

Twins Get: Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez Josh Beckett, Chad Billingsley
Dodgers Get: Byron Buxton, Miguel Sano

Twins getting ripped off big time.

Cubs Get: Clayton Kershaw, Andre Ethier, Dan Haren
Dodgers Get: Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Albert Almora

    Dodgers lose by a bit.

Astros Get: Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson, Julio Uras, Corey Seager, Zach Lee, Alexander Gurrero
Dodgers Get: Carlos Correa, Mark Appel

Dodgers giving far too much. Puig could land Correa himself fwiw.

Rangers Get: Carl Crawford, Brandon League/ Chris Withrow
    Dodgers Get: Joey Gallo

    Solid.

Two possible deals for a Catcher
    Yankees Get: Adrian Gonzalez
    Dodgers Get: Gary Sanchez

    Dodgers getting ripped off.

Mariners Get: Adrian Gonzalez, possibly A.J. Ellis
    Dodgers Get: Mike Zunino

    Dodgers getting ripped off.
Seems like you could raise your asking prices aside from the Minnesota trade.

Could adding some of the prospects from the Astros trade+ literally anyone else on the roster improve the Twins deal enough?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Okay, I'm gonna take my turn here and post some of the trades I'm planning. Minus the ones I've already posted.

To Toronto: Trevor Bauer; Daniel Murphy
To Cleveland: Sergio Santos; Mark Buehrle; Adam Lind

        This one might need improvement.

        To San Diego: R.A. Dickey
To Toronto: Hunter Renfroe, Jace Peterson

I like this one. Dickey would really help out SD's pitching and I'd get the prospects I'm targeting.

To Colorado: Sean Nolin; JA Happ
To Toronto: Trevor Story; D.J. LaMahieu

A lottery ticket and speedy guy for legit starter and less legit starter. Seems pretty fair.

        To St. Louis: Jose Reyes
To Toronto: Shelby Miller; Stephen Piscotty; Rob Kaminsky

Reyes is obviously a marquee player. Miller has struggled horribly for about 3/4 of a year now so I figure Piscotty + Kaminsky isn't a huge stretch.

To Oakland: Dawel Lugo; Chase DeJong
To Toronto: Josh Reddick; Billy Burns

Two legit prospects for the struggling OF and an org guy I'm intrigued by.

        To Cincinnati: Casey Janssen
To Toronto: Todd Frazier; Ben Lively

Janssen's an elite reliever and I'm willing to take a small value hit for the guys I want.

Thoughts? I also have a STRONG interest in Jon Lucroy. Wouldn't mind moving Edwin but not sure of many fits.

Probably not. I don't think they make that deal with you, unfortunately. There are other fits for Kemp that would certainly work, though.

What if it was just Buxton (I know it's probably still a stretch).

For the Cardinals- Jays deal, I don't know if they Cards would want Reyes (huge injury risk) while already having Peralta and his contract, despite his lack of performance early on. If they got him I assume Carp would go back to second, Peralta at 3rd, and Reyes plugs in at short, but Miller+ Piscotty seems like too much, plus the Cards would be more in a win now mode.

Could you maybe target some of the lower pitching prospects? Something like Alex Reyes (fairly high upside), Piscotty (movable with the Cards outfield being loaded), and one of Kaminsky/ Cooney/ Gonzales since none of them are contributing right now to the big league club?

Sorry, just saw you already mentioned Reyes. If the Cardinals were in a win now mode, I think they'd keep Miller over Reyes. Plus the rotation of Wainwright, Wacha, Miller, Lynn, Kelly, Martinez, etc... is pretty set for the near future. Reyes might have a tough time breaking into it assuming performances stay what they have been. Maybe remove one of the 3 lefties at the end and just go Reyes+ Piscotty?

            Yeah, it's still a stretch.

I wasn't sure what position Peralta was playing, honestly. I can find another fit for Reyes if necessary. Got any ideas? Not sure which teams would want him. Potential fits I wouldn't mind:

Dodgers, with them moving Hanley to third base and Jose at short? They certainly aren't afraid of contracts if you like any of their prospects.

                Came up with some fits:

                To the Reds for Latos
                Tigers for Castellanos
Pirates for Cole/Taillon/I don't even know there are just SO MANY PIECES I LIKE
Angels for... okay, not many interesting pieces here lol
                Dodgers for Ryu/Seager/Urias/etc

I'd go Tigers deal, Dodgers Deal, Reds deal in that order. I don't see the Pirates giving up Cole, Taillon needs/ just got Tommy Johns, plus they have a fairly interesting SS Prospect in Hanson and Mercer isn't useless.

Idk if the Reds give up Latos, so that's third. The Tigers seem like the best fit honestly, as they have the shortstop need and are already a great team, and the Dodgers could also eat the contract.

What does adding Nick Franklin and DJ Peterson on top of Zunino do to the Dodgers deal for Gonzalez?

I like the SD trade a lot if they have any chance of making the playoffs. They could really use a SP now that Josh Johnson went down.

The Colorado trade seems like a good trade to me. You are gambling on Story, so I think Nolin is enough for Colorado to do that deal.

The one I'm not sure about is the CIN trade. I personally don't think the upgrade of Janssen in the bullpen is worth losing Frazier, because I don't think they have anyone that could fill in, unless they made another move.

                      Dodgers for Ryu/Seager/Urias/etc

The Dodgers seem like a very realistic trade partner for Reyes. Getting Reyes to play on real grass again in SoCal will do wonder for his hamstrings (one could argue). Assuming Hanley moves to 3B to accommodate Reyes playing SS, Seager could be had in the deal. Especially since we got to assume Hanley resigns with the Dodgers as well.
Don't know if Ryu is available in a deal but if came down to it, I'm sure Ned Colleti could pull the trigger. Guess it depends a bit on how potential no 5 guys in the rotation are doing and if they can step up their game. Thinking Zach Lee, Maholm, Magill etc.

Also, if the Dodgers are in the playoff race, in sure they'd rather move Seager and Urias than parting with Ryu. Sacrificing the future to win know so to speak.

Don't see the Tigers as a fit with Jose Iglesias as their SS of the future. They've got Kinsler locked down at 2B so if they deal for Reyes, Iglesias would have to move to 3B and potentially replace Castellanos there. Iglesias doesn't have the usual pop for a 3B though as we all know he's mostly about the glove.

Pirates aren't parting with Cole, Taillon, Marte or Polanco if they're not getting back a young guy like Stanton. I'd look at guys like Glasnow or Meadows instead and I'm sure they'd fit right in with your rebuilding plans.

On a side note, are you doing a backstory this year as well?

Now I know this isn't realistic just looking for fair value really.

As I have said before I am the Twins but waiting for OSFM and the PS4 version, I am thinking of moving Joe Mauer purely to get younger even though I love him. Just looking to assess what I could get in return for him?

Second looking for a replacement for him, Now I have Sano almost MLB ready who can start at 3rd but may move him to 1st and keep Plouffe at 3rd or vice versa. Also thinking of moving Dozier to SS opening up 2B. Now the question I ask you is Could Brett Lawrie play 2nd or 1st? If he can what would it take to get him? I know this isn't realistic just looking for fairness.

So when you say not looking for fairness does that mean you don't care if the team already has a first baseman? Cause Toronto has Encarnacion and Lind.

Buuut, if Mauer is having his signature season, you could probably get Lawrie, if you don't really care about realism. The Twins really need starting pitching so I suggest you go after LHPs Daniel Norris/Sean Nolin and Roberto Osuna. Or maybe RHP Marcus Stroman and RHP Tom Robson (C+ POT)

I could give them Andy Burns back. Young 3B with an excellent hit tool.

I'm not doing a dynasty this year.

Tigers will move for Reyes if they can, they won't care about Iggy. Illitch doesn't have a ton of time, lol. And he's injured. They're pretty desperate rn. And the only real piece on the Dodgers that seems like a fit is Ryu, so that's out. Guess it's down to the Tigers and Reds. I like both fits, honestly.

Lawrie + Stroman + Davis for Mauer if he's performing seems pretty reasonable. But only if Mauer is performing and Lawrie isn't lighting the world on fire.

Lawrie can play 2nd. Not 1st.

me being a huge pirates fan and huge follower of sites like piratesprospects.com i don't think there is any chance that they let go of cole/taillon/glasnow. many think glasnow has the best potential of them all. the pirates have too many outfield prospects in my opinion. kingham and luis heredia may be the only high rated pitchers that could be had. i believe lambo, and josh bell are there obtainable outfielders. and the way marte is playing right now i would think about making him available. but next week he may start playing well and i would change my mind. meadows i am terrified may be part of the ptbnl in the ike davis deal. i hope it is someone from the 13 draft that came after meadows and mcguire. realistically though, the pirates are about as stingy of a team as there is when it comes to prospects and you would have to way overpay for any of them.
