Problem 1 - the Cubs have too much on their roster.
    Here's their lineup:
    1. Alcantara CF
    2. Castro SS
    3. Rizzo 1B
    4. Bryant RF
    5. Baez 2B
    6. Olt 3B
    7. Castillo C
    8. Lake LF
    9. Pitcher

They have Russell and Soler in the minors. Do you guys know of any teams who would be interested in Baez, Castro, Oly, or maybe even Bryant?

    Problem 2:
The dodgers lineup is like so:
    1. Gordon 2B
    2. Crawford LF
    3. Puig CF (should he be in RF?)
    4. A-Gon 1B
    5. Ramierez SS
    6. Kemp RF (should he be in CF?)
    7. Ellis C
    8. Uribe 3B
    9. Pitcher

They currently have Ande Eithker and Joc Peterson on the bench. Any idea on who would want Kemp, Crawford, or Eithier?

I can post stats for whoever needs them.

Just Olt, none of the others probably.

Eithier would most likely be moved out of those IMO

      Okay, thank you!

Looking at teams who need OF help for either or 3B help for Olt, I saw that:

Angels, Nationals, Mets, Reds, Brewers, and Dbacks could trade for Eithier

Brewers, Dodgers, Giants, Blue Jays, Braves, Marlins, and Phillies could trade for Olt

      Eithier in 2014: .262 AVG, 14 HRs, 64 RBIs
      Olt in 2014: 157 ABs, .268 AVG, 13 HRs, 27 RBIs

I'm thinking a three team trade, with the Cubs, Dodgers, and another team, but I'm not sure.

I've eliminated some teams and am down to

Olt to either Dodgers, Jays, Braves, Phillies or Marlins
Eithier to either Angels, Nats, or Mets

      Any further ideas?

I could see Either to the Nats and Olt to either the Marlins or the Phillies.
Olt could go for a mid-high C and Eithier could maybe go for two High C's. Not looking at the spreadsheet so not for sure about those values but they seem good to me.

I would do a 3 team deal with Olt going to the Dodgers, Either going to the Mets and have the Cubs get a SP.

Also could look at the Cubs also giving up Lake most likely to acquire some bullpen help if their pen is anything like the bullpen in my Franchise.

Then put Russell at 3B and Soler in LF

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

            So:
            Nationals get Eithier (32 y/o, 77 OVR)
Dodgers get Taylor Hill (74 OVR, AAA) and Nick Pivetta (65 OVR, A)? Both Hi-C' SPs.

Since the trade is before opening day, I'll just say it's a winter deal.

I'll be making the Olt trade closer to the deadline, I'll come back and post his stats in mid- July.

Alright so disregarding my last post (haven't done it yet)

              Dodgers get Olt
              Mets get Eithier
              Cubs get Degrom? Montero? Ynoa?

Hey guys I was wondering what kind of package I could get in my Marlins franchise for Jose Fernandez. I know he's great, but I play all 162 games, and I am 2 months in and he has a 4.66 ERA. I just can't pitch with him. Everyone else on my staff (Cosart,Josh Johnson,Heaney,Urias) is great, but I can't pitch with Fernandez. I'm all for realism, so what teams have the best package to give? Teams currently "In the Hunt" are Seattle, Kansas City, Detroit, Cleveland, LAD, LAA, BOS, NYY, NYM, WAS, MIN, CHC, BAL, STL, SFG, Milwaukee, and SD.

I say Degrom. Good young pitcher major league ready for that newly renewed Cubs team with all those youngsters

As long as Braun's playing like his usual self you can get a pretty good amount of value for him. Who were the contending teams in '14?

I was thinking Andrus could go for a Hamels type pitcher... would it be Andrus + another piece?

If I went with Sardinas or Odor I'd want more prospects for sure. Maybe some combination of Sardinas, Odor, Alfaro, Luke Jackson, and Alex Gonzalez. 2 or 3 of them possibly.

Andrus+Sardinas+Alfaro could possibly work. I know the Rangers think highly of Alfaro but them having Hamels would be tempting for them.
Also, I believe Alex Gonzalez is in the Astro's farm system correct?

I'd say so, yes. Depends on the stats each guy is putting up. Get Andrus back along with a temporary rotation filler for the departed Hamels - Nick Martinez/Nick Tepesch?

No problem getting 2 out of 3 plus at least one other minor piece. Cody Buckel?
