Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok, I'm looking for a good eighth inning guy, and I've narrowed it down to...
Drew Storen (4-3, 2.57 ERA, 42.0 IP)
Jason Motte (2-3, 2 SV, 4.46 ERA, 42.1 IP)
Matt Belisle (3-2, 2.81 ERA, 51.1 IP)
J.P Howell (1-3, 2.61 ERA, 41.1 IP)
Santiago Casilla (4-1, 3.83 ERA, 51.2 IP)
What would be some trades that could net me one of these guys? I'm the Red Sox.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
It is December in my Cards chise using OSFM 1.0. I am looking to trade away Jaime Garcia and Joe Kelly (to make room for my other younger pitchers with higher upside) but don't know what to ask for them. Kelly had a decent 2014 (for a back of the rotation guy) going 12-8, 3.47 ERA. Jaime did not see any action in the MLB in 2014, instead was relegated to playing AAA since he couldn't make the cut on the big league team.
I want to dump these guys for infield prospects as the Cards have a plethora of young outfielders and pitchers. I would love to go after the Cubs infield but I don't think that would happen in real life.
I am looking for realistic and fair. Any suggestions on A) Which teams have a talented but expendable infield prospect selection, and B) What Kelly/Garcia could pull in? (Keeping in mind Kelly's 2014 stats)Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
July 28, 2014, 30-team control franchise
Proposed trade:
Braves Receive
SP David Price (7-7, 2.48 ERA, 123K/39 BB, 148.2 IP)
Rays Receive
SP Alex Wood (8-5, 3.77 ERA, 114K/37 BB, 136.0 IP)
OF Corey Hart (.280, 15 HR, 50 RBI, .493 SLG, .361 vs. LHP)
Mariners Receive
SP J.R. Graham (24 y/o, 71 OVR, B Pot., #13 MLB.com ATL prospect)
(9-6, 3.95 ERA, 118K/36 BB, 136.2 IP @ Double-A)
Atlanta is 53-53 (4.0 GB of Washington, 3.5 GB Wild Card)
Tampa Bay is 54-51 (6.0 GB of Toronto, 2.0 GB Wild Card)
Seattle is 43-62 (17.0 GB of Texas, 13.0 GB Wild Card)
-The Braves desperately need a front-line starter as Julio Teheran went down in late April and will miss the remainder of the season. Gavin Floyd was injured last week and will miss at least the next two weeks.
-Tampa's rotation has been up-and-down, with Price, Cobb, and Moore pitching well with some occasional struggles from Archer and Odorizzi. Negotiations with Price have stalled and he appears almost certain to bolt in the offseason. The team is in the market for an affordable right-handed power bat as David DeJesus and James Loney are both struggling against left-handed pitching.
-Seattle has been out of the race for awhile and has a plethora of young outfielders it wants to give extended playing time. Hart has outperformed expectations all season, destroying lefties with consistency. Stefen Romero and Abraham Almonte have played well in limited action. Adding Graham from Atlanta would provide Seattle with yet another mid-rotation pitching prospect, although the season has not gone as planned for Erasmo Ramirez, Brandon Maurer, and James Paxton.Last edited by jfen31; 09-29-2014, 06:16 PM.Comment

Just some quick suggestions so your questions don't rot as this thread starts to.

Other guys you can look at: Zack Cox, 3B (MIA); one of Arizona's shortstops would make sense, either Chris Owings or Nick Ahmed; Jose Ramirez, SS (CLE); Devon Travis, 2B (DET); Christian Colon, 2B (KC); Luis Jimenez, 3B (LAA); one of Seattle's middle infielders Chris Taylor or Brad Miller; maybe Rougned Odor from Texas if you sweeten the deal.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
OK I want some advice on a trade for Stanton. I would be the Red Sox and make the trade during the offseason/start of ST. Would this be a realistic trade. Owens, Swihart, Cespedes resigned to a new deal, Betts, and one of Escobar or Rodriguez? Too much, too little.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Seems reasonable. It's not very realistic, but the fairness is decent. I don't see why the Marlins would take on Cespedes' new contract over just paying Stanton arbitration raises, hence the realism question.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I think a contract for Cespedes would be around 5 years 18 AAV. so they would pay like 5 million more next season, I think I heard his arb salary might be like 13 next season and then save like 3 or 4 million in his final year and then over the next 3 years like 7-8 if they were to sign him to an extension.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys...
I'm pretty late to the party, but didn't want to buy The Show on current gen, and couldn't afford new-gen up until now. But it's done now !
Anyway, I'm going with the Pirates in my franchise, and thought I would ask for some suggestions on move I could be doing during the 1st season. I don't want to go crazy on trades in the first year (using Totte's roster, backdated to opening day), but I already have a pretty good idea of what I'll be looking to do sooner rather than later. So maybe you guys could give me a few names I should keep an eye on.
Roster Players I'll be looking to trade: (SP) Charlie Morton, (1B) Travis Ishikawa, (SS) Clint Barmes and (OF) Jose Tabata. Do any of them have actual value, or should I just cut them eventually ? (CP) Jason Grilli could also be on that list, but only if I can get a younger CP.
Noteworthy Minor Players available (B potential or more): (SP) Luis Heredia, (SP) Clay Holmes, (3B) Wyatt Mathisen, (OF) Harold Ramirez, (OF) Michael De La Cruz.
What I'm looking for:
- I'd like to add a young LHP that I can build my rotation with. With Cole, Taillon, Kingham and Glasnow all RHP, I miss that one LHP (would like two, but we'll start with one). Players I'm targetting right now include Tony Cingrani, James Paxton, Edwin Escobar, Robbie Ray, Danny Hultzen, Sean Nolin and Justin Nicolino...as I doubt Andre Heaney would be available, right ?
- I'm looking for an MLB-ready LHB who can play 2B/SS. Don't really care about power here, and I can live with only decent contact, as long as he's good defensively and quick. Ideally, not over 30. So right now, I'm pretty much targetting Didi Gregorius. Any way to make that happen ?
- Finally, this is a long shot, but do you see anyway the Pirates could acquire (1B) Jonathan Singleton, (SS) Javier Baez or (3B) Miguel Sano ?
Thanks !Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Being a Cubs fan I was thinking about the reality of aquiring Puig? I was thinking a combination of Castro(B+)/Russell(A-), Edwards (A-), and Alcantara (A-) and possibly OLT (C+) as a throw in..
Also I'm looking for a young lefty starter? Willing to part with Volgelbach, Almora (especially if I get Puig), Villenueva (3b)Comment
