well I stopped participating in the '13 thread after I traded in the game so that's why I've been MIA lately

I'll be starting a franchise with the mets and I'll be looking for a good SS or 1B

My rotation is going to be harvey, wheeler, syndergaard, niese, and either montero or mejia so I will be willing to trade one of those last two, colon, and gee as well as other positional prospects besides flores.

Any ideas? I would love someone like correa or javier baez if possible

If your looking for realism those guys probably are gonna be hard to get. Are you looking for more a prospect or a established big leaguer. Asdrubal Cabrera wouldn't be a bad rental to get.

If you want young, you could look at Didi Gregorious and Nick Franklin. The Mets were rumored to be targeting both.

Gee as a starting package for either Gregorius or Franklin would work

I started my A's franchise and I'm looking to get Ethier from the Dodgers. I'm not too big on "if it's not EXACTLY what should be offered then it's unrealistic" but I'm also not looking to force a 40 overall catcher for him.

I'm willing to part with one of my young starters for him, the one albatross is his lofty 3 year contract for 18 mil in the game. So my question is, is he worth it? Is it worth a young arm to bolster my hitting? Or is there a cheaper alternative at a different position (second base) that can give me ethier like production. Thanks guys.

Would you keep Reddick in right and have Ethier play LF? Question is if your budget can handle taking on the contract for not only one but three years? Wouldn't give up Gray, Griffin, Straily or someone like that but maybe another arm like Ynoa to give the Dodgers some depth in the minors.

I personally believe Jordy Mercer of the Pirates could be a nice option at 2B for you. He might be a year away from being a 15/10 player but should provide a pretty nice average with some pop and speed (like Ethier)

Im looking to start my fun, fantasy-type franchise with the Pirates on Monday(Roster Update)...
These are some trades Ive been thinking about...

                  A. McCutchen, N. Walker & R. Martin
                  to the Brewers for
                  J. Segura, K. Davis & J. Lucroy

                  A. Simmons & E. Gattis intrigued me as well, I would use Walker and McCutchen in this traded rather than the above trade...

Also looking to get L. Duda from the Mets, and Lake from the Cubs?
Tabata, Melancon, Wandy Rodriguez, Volquez and Morton are all trade bait...

Remember, Im looking for fairness of value not realism... obviously lol...
Would just like some advice, Thanks for your input...

McCutchen should real you in a bit more than that

...and probably a bit more if he's traded outside the NL Central

I don't think there's a 2B to be had that will give you a healthy Ethier-type production (at least not right away) but piggybacking off a name already mentioned, if you don't mind trading within the division, Nick Franklin could be somebody worth targeting at 2B

as for your original question, I personally wouldn't do it...an OF of Cespedes, Crisp, Reddick isn't mind-blowing but I believe it can get the job done...at least not at the expense of Ethier's contract AND giving up a few players/prospects

I'd give up AJ Griffin and to a lesser extent Straily in a heartbeat if I was getting a consistent bat in return

Even for an expensive bat like Ethier who can only hit righties? (Or lefties, I can't remember)

that's the tough part....if Ethier's contract wasn't what it was in-game, I'd MAYBE consider it

As a Mets player myself an interesting idea I had was the Cubs moving Starlin to make room for Baez and get out from underneath his contract/personality. I'm not that familiar with the Cubs so I don't know how realistic this scenario is. For either Baez or Starlin I would imagine young, high-ceiling pitching would get their attention like Wheeler or Noah.

As the Mets, what could I offer for Trever Bauer from Cleveland and Drew Pomeranz from Oakland? Also, I'm curious if there are any interesting ideas for where to unload Ike?
