So first question of the new thread is with my single team franchise, the Red Sox, i feel like Xander can man third just fine and want to keep him there and deal off Will Middlebrooks. Looking for more of a prospect base deal for him to flip for a solid SS or deal him off along with another piece for a SS. Also, i am not opposed to keeping Xander at SS and trying to get a 3B, just my personal preference that X plays 3B.

First thought in my head was Middlebrooks to Dodgers for Gordon and a prospect arm. If not, Middlebrooks could be a fit in Cleveland if you go for a SS rental like A-Cab.

The Marlins are a fit if you'd settle for a prospect or two straight up in exchange.

if Asche isn't working out in Philly, I would think WMB makes sense there too...also a stop-gap for Sano in Minny.....I don't think the White Sox have a 3B of note

I'm wondering if Arizona could work. Prado can play all around the diamond, and Middlebrooks gives them a young option to use with their core. They have great SS depth. I'm still iffy on whether they would want him though.

Arizona is a decent choice as they traded their 3B prospect already...can always move Prado back to LF...just depends if the OP is enamored with either Owings or Gregorius....not sure what other pieces would be changing hands

Owings and Gregorius are down grades in my opinion.

The Snakes def wouldn't be my first choice to send WMB....problem is most of the crap teams that SEEM to make sense, have 3B prospects in-waiting (Sano, Davidson,to a lesser extent Moran)...VERY crazy idea but IF A-Rod is stashed in the minors, would WMB make sense as a Yank?

He is looking for a SS correct? Or is he just dumping him? Because if it is the former, the yanks don't have much to offer.

As long as the OP is willing to send him to their rival, I could see the yankees using him with their 3B problems.

did WMB's stock really fall THAT much?...iirc, in the spreadsheet prior to last year he was worth a mid-A and low-B...granted I don't think he's worth that at this moment, but I would think Boston would be able to fetch a few more adequate pieces along with Herrera

Herrera is pretty good. Top 75 prospect IMO

When OSFM comes out, as the Yankees, fair trade for Jose Fernandez? Or 3 slots just isn't enough?

not enough and the Yanks don't have any high-end prospects the Fish would covet

Well you can make trades with more than three people. You have to make two trades.

                                Example:

                                Marlins acquire: A B C D players
                                Yankees acquire: Fernandez

                                Trade 1:
                                yankees send A B C
                                Marlins send Fernandez

                                Trade 2:
                                Yankees send D
Marlins send worst player and yankees release him when done.

As for acquiring Fernandez, the yankees don't have the pieces to get him. I'd assume he's worth like 3 mid-high As plus a low A and High B. Something ridiculous like that. The yankees farm isn't top heavy.
