Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Well, since making my trade for Mike Morse, he's been 7/20 (.350 avg) with 3 HRs and 6 RBIs.
I've been extremely happy with the move so far.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys great feedback in the thread. Im looking to start a mets franchise under the condition that they are under new owners and are willing to spend.
I would like to make them the dodgers of the east.
My questions is what kind of teams would be willing to make some splash deals like that. I was thinking maybe adding some power bats and solid depth on offense. First Base also. Im willing to take on whatever salary.
Thanks is advanceComment

If you want a big power bat for fairly cheap, Adam Dunn can help you, but there are a few problems with him. 1. He Ks ALOT. 2. He is horrid on defemse and is suited for DH, which obviously wouldn't fit in the NL.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

He posted 24.1 fWAR from 2001-2009 in the NL playing on the Reds, Diamondbacks and Nationals, playing mainly LF"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

And doesn't it say something that he was THAT productive even with his bad defense? In LF, even?
His 137 wRC+ would fit just fine on any team, preferably at 1B or DH, but teams could get creative."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I didn't say he wasn't productive, on offense. Defense isn't that much of a keen role for him, especially in has latter years. But easily one of the main problems with him, strikeouts. Bu he'sseemed to calm down a little from his '04 to '06 seasons.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
A win is a win. If a player costs a team one win on defense, but provides four wins on offense, then that's a +3 win differential. They aren't weighted. A win is a win. If he outproduces the defense that he takes away, then there's no problem with taking him. And Cameron, the guy has been playing baseball since 2001. Pretty sure he's figure out how to be successful even through striking out."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
There were talks between the Mets and Rockies last year with the deal revolving around Wheeler and D'arnaud. I know it isn't likely but if the Mets came to them offering a few of their high end prospect I would think the Rockies at least listen again.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Lucky for the Mets, they have a ton of prospects. "Big names" availible right now include Asdrubal Cabrera, Chase Headley, Alexei Ramirez, and Rickie Weeks. Pitching has alot more options like Samardzija, Shields, Price, and maybe even Lee (although unrealistic due to the same division)

Im not really looking for pitching as we are pretty stacked and i feel it is a decent core to build on. The only pitcher i would be interested in Chris Sale and I doubt that possible.
Thanks for the feedback
i was also thinking with whats going on with Matt Kemp i could swing a deal for him. Im willing to part with granderson and any of my veteran pitchers.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Concerning Adam Dunn i like him but i wouldnt want to give up much. What do u think is fair for him? even off the bench its a good bat to pinch hit but he is older so i wont be getting many years out of him.Last edited by mrbenjamin; 05-28-2014, 09:21 PM.Comment
