The 2015 Cubs had a great year as you can see Led by their MVP SP Max Scherzer, Rookie of The Year Kris Bryant and Silver Slugger 2B Jerry Finger. The team was fortunate enough to have multiple All Stars and the Best Record in MLB. I was able to sit down with Rising Superstar Jerry Finger and ask him a few questions before this teams chase for a world series begins.

How do u feel u did in your first full MLB season?

JF: I feel like I did ok I expect so much more from myself I feel like I should of led the league in batting average but coming 2nd to the great Joey Votto is nothing to be ashamed of so im cool with it. But im disappointed in my HR(22) and SB(25) numbers only because I think I can be a 40-40 club member so I have to do better in those categories. and I have to improve my fielding because .970 and 13 errors isn't gonna cut it at all.

Well we know you all had the best regular season team but how do you think u will do in the post season?

JF: im hoping we go far after last year making the wild card and then getting swept in the division round by the Cards we defiantly wanna do better than that. We got some pay back coming for those guys don't worry.

What do you contribute the teams regular season success to the most?

JF: PITCHING our team led the MLB in almost every major pitching category so we our Starting pitchers play so well it makes it so much easier for us hitters.

Last question how far do you think u all make it this year in the playoffs?

JF: with our core position players being so young Castro, Lake ,Rizzo,Bryant,Soler and me are all under 25 so we plan on being championship contenders for many more years to come but to answer the question we have very high expectations for ourself and anything less than a World Series appearance would be a disappointment after winning 101 games.

As you can see the young man at the age of 23 certainly lacks no confidence we will see how it goes this time around against the Cardinals.

      Game 1 2015 NLDS

      Cardinals (Wainwright) @ Cubs (Scherzer)

      Lineups

      Cardinals Cubs
      CF Jay SS Castro
      3B Carpenter LF Lake
      RF Craig 2B Finger
      1B Adams 1B Rizzo
      LF Cespedes 3B Bryant
      2B Hill CF Ruggiano
      SS Lowrie RF Soler
      C Perez(Molina DL 3-4wks) C Castillo
      P Wainwright P Scherzer

      Cardinals 2 R 6 H
      Cubs 8 R 10 H

Cubs win 8-2 in game 1

My first at bat was an RBI Triple
Second at bat was a Double
third at bat was a RBI Single
fourth at bat was a ground out

We absolutely destroyed Wainwright from the first inning going up 2-0 and he only lasted 4.2 innings meanwhile the Cy Young/MVP Max Scherzer continued his greatness only giving up 6 hits and 2 runs in 8.1 innings and the 2 runs he gave up were in the 9th inning because he had pitched 100+ pitches and was more than likely tired against a great Cardinals lineup full of nice hitters.

We had a great game 1 against the team that swept us last year in this same series except they were the division winners and we played the wild card game.

Lets hope we can sweep them this time around

      Game 2 NLDS

      Smardzija vs Wacha

Cubs got destroyed 12-2 to tie the series at 1-1 my 2nd baseman went 1-4 it was a terrible game and very embarrassing after how he won the first game but hey u win some u lose some but I was hoping to sweep these bastards after they swept us last year but I don't wanna talk about this loss anymore moving on

      Game 3 NLDS

      Scherzer vs Wainwright

      Cardinals 5-0 Win

Another digusting loss Wainwright came back and pitched like a monster as I went 0-4 and our team only had 3 total hits wtf now we a game away from losing to these pieces of shyt 2 years in a row fml

      Game 4 NLDS

after the 2nd inning Cubs lead 5-0 we go on to lose 6-10 I hate the Cardinals. I went 2-5 2RBIs and we lose to the Cardinals 2yrs in a row in the NLDS over those 2yrs we have only won 1 playoff game coming off a freaking 101 game winning season and we cant even make it to the NLCS this sucks so much. whatever though time re-tool next season and come back stronger

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

I have recently been called up to AAA Durham with my speedy CF, Donovan Riley. Just personally won a game in the 9th with the best batting and baserunning I have ever done:

I somehow drew 7 pitch walk from a 1-2 count with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th and almost got picked off immediately (Lefty pitcher). I usually wait until an 0-1 or 1-1 count to steal (I have 7 in the first 2 weeks with 1 CS), but the #2 hitter swings on the first pitch and hits a fly ball to the right of the CF. I actually tag up and get a perfect jump to beat the throw to 2nd by a foot or two. 2 out. Next hitter drives a grounder through the right side and I come around to score the winning run on a close play at the plate.

I am in early June of the 2016 season (2B for the Braves) and I just hit my 100th career HR and stole my 100th career base in the same game.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

So I'm a 3B with B potential whom was drafted in the 1st round, pick 15 by the Diamondbacks. Had a pretty solid 1st season in the minors in between AA and AAA. Finish the AAA season with a .281 batting average (batted .343 in AA before getting called up to AAA) but started the 2015 season in AA.

I continued tearing the cover off the ball for 2 months (batting over .450 with 9 HR and 29 RBI) while in AA resulting in getting called up to the major league roster. I go 2-4 (a single and a double) with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored in my first major league game. Although disaster would soon strike, in my third major league game I severely fractured my forearm sliding back in to 2B thus being placed on the 60-day DL.

Eventually I return from my first stint on the DL and start right where I left off going 2-5 in my first game back. After that I began to struggle in my next 2 games going 1-8 and then boom, I get placed in a blockbuster trade with the Nationals that allowed the Diamondbacks to acquire 3B Ryan Zimmerman. Personally, I'm ecstatic to be a member of the Nationals playing alongside Harper and Strasburg.

The only confusing part is, the Diamondbacks (whom are tied for first in the NL West with the Dodgers) dealt CF Chris Young in a trade for multiple players (assuming they were young players/prospects) right before the one I was involved in.

The Nationals, are also 7.0 games ahead in the NL East and considering Zimmerman has been crucial to their success thus far, I'm surprised they dealt him but I'm certainly flattered none the less.

            I absolutely love this game!

So I just created myself as a SP. I had a good rookie showcase only allowing 1 ER. My question is, what's the highest you've ever been drafted? I went 2nd overall to the Miami Marlins.

                    I absolutely love this game!
Continuing on from my above journey, I managed to finish the regular season hitting .279 with 17 HR and 43 RBI while placing 3rd in the NL ROY award standings (It would have been first if not for the severe forearm injury and 60-day DL stint, dammit!).

It does get better though, if not ironic. My Nationals manage to clinch the division in late September thus playoff bound but who would I be facing you might ask? The Diamondbacks! That's right, the team that dealt me almost as soon as I returned from the DL in a blockbuster trade for Ryan Zimmerman.

The Diamondbacks quickly jump out to a 2-game series lead at home with me managing a HR and a couple of singles in the first 2 games. Facing elimination in game 3, my 3B comes alive and manages to hit back-to-back HR's with both of them being the go ahead runs that resulted in a huge W at home with a 7-4 final tally. My stat line after the game was 2 HR while batting in 5 RBI.

In game 4 it was rinse and repeat as my 3B manages to blast another 2 HR's that help give SP Strasburg plenty of support to win game 5 and once again avoid elimination with a final score of 6-1.

Now with both teams facing elimination, the stakes couldn't be any higher and the Nationals offense couldn't be any hotter. My 3B only managed an RBI single in 4 AB's in game 5 but the rest of the offense picked up the load, thus helping to secure a 7-1 win in the NLDS!

All in all, it seemed like my 3B had a date with destiny to prove that the Nationals got the better end of the deal and that the Diamondbacks made a huge mistake of giving up so soon on a 19-year old future superstar 3 games after coming off the 60-day DL. Thus, this series proved that while the Nationals took the highest risk with this trade by dealing one of its franchise players in Zimmerman for a talented young 3B with serious injury concerns, they eventually received the highest reward.

With that said, the Nationals will now advance to the NLCS to face the St. Louis Cardinals in what should be an exciting series!

Well to make a long story short, the Cardinals and my Nationals ended up going to 7 games with the Nats advancing to the World Series. I played very solid in the NLCS but came nowhere near my NLDS stat line against the Diamondbacks.

In the World Series I faced the Oakland Athletics and during the series we managed to jump out to a 3-1 lead after losing game 1. We should have won the series in game 5 as we had a 5 run lead at 7-2 going into the 7th but of course the A's put together a huge inning and tied the game. After which Cespesdes hits a walk-off HR to force a game 6. The A's then proceed to win game 6 fairly decisively and force a game 7.

With our backs against the wall, we managed to pull out a 5-1 victory in game 7 to clinch Washington's first World Series championship with my 3B being named the Playoff MVP by Manager Don Mattingly. I should have won the WS MVP after seeing who won it, and their stat line in relation to my own, but I can't complain too much considering I captured my first ring during my only season in the majors.

Rays Prospect Called to AAA, on Fast Track
                          05/20/14
                          MONTGOMERY (AP)--
Rays AA prospect Donovan Riley has reportedly been asked to join the AAA Durham Bulls. His AA stats were nothing short of incredible, batting .360 on the year and recently hitting his first home run to go along with 24 steals in his brief career.

Riley, 18, was drafted as a CF in the 2nd round of this year's First Year Player Draft. Coming out of Indiana, scouts raved at his incredible speed and his patience at the plate. "He's the ultimate offensive nightmare," one MLB scout said, "He can work an 0-2 count to a walk and drive it into the gap like few players I've seen this year. And when he gets on, there's no stopping him. Once he gets his bat developed, he could very well be the next Ricky Henderson."

His speed was definitely on display this year, constantly turning would-be singles into sneaky doubles and doubles into triples as defenses struggled to adjust. His aggressiveness was something to behold as well, tagging up from first several times and constantly advancing when others would be scolded. As long as Riley keeps lighting it up, the future looks bright in Tampa Bay.

My manager doesn't quite have the best logic when filling the roster. We're loaded with catchers and outfielders on the bench, not a single infielder or utility guy. But the fun part is that it is July 26th in the my 2016 season and I've started every game in the current season. No more of those pinch hit appearances that take forever to load and kill my hitting streaks

I am just past the All-Star break of 2015 in my players RTTS. I was called up at the beginning of April to play SS with the A's but they had signed Elvis Andrus in the off-season so I asked the manager to play me at 2B since there was nobody there and I've started nearly every game at 2B on the season with a day off here and there. We are currently 47-38 or something to that effect with a 1 game deficit in the division to the Rangers.

I had a very slow start for my debut, and was barely hitting .110 for the first few weeks, but then slowly kicked it into gear and got over .200 a few weeks before the All-Star game. This felt like a feat of it's own but I am shooting to finish the year at over .240 atleast.

                              My current stat line is:

                              250 at bats
                              .208 average
                              11 home runs
                              29 RBI
                              .443 slugging percentage
19 stolen bases in 20 attempts

My Power & contact vs RH's are all in the 70's with lefties being in the 60's. The problem I am having is making solid contact. My plate vision is in the 80's so my PCI is huge...I just suck lol. It seems that I pop up quite a bit or hit a ball out to the warning track...any suggestions? I have seen a couple hitting strategy posts on the board, and have looked them over.

What I currently do is begin the PCI up in the zone, and then react to a low strike pitch but it seems that my thumb pushes to far down it turns into a pop up as my PCI ends up to far down in the zone. This has always been a problem for me lol.

My other question is when I view the pitcher breakdown and all that by pressing the select button and want to look at the current pitcher, it doesn't appear all his pitches show up on the graph even though everything is selected to all. For instance if I want to look at first pitches for him for the entire time, it only shows 3 or 4 pitches even though we may be in the 5th inning and he's faced 20 batters. Is this a glitch or am I an idiot?

I'm a 1B for the Mariners. When I was 18, I got drafted to the Marlins in the 4th round, I went to junior college and when I was 20 I got drafted to the MARINERS 6th overall (lucky me!)

I spent half my 20-y/o season in AA, halfway through my 20 y/o season I got called up to AAA. I'm a VERY good fielder, I've never made an error, and I hit for power but not very good average.

I made the MLB team out of spring training, and am currently the starting 1B.

                                Our lineup is pretty good

                                SS Brad Miller
                                LF Dustin Ackley
                                2B Robinson Cano
                                DH DJ Peterson
                                3B Kyle Seager
                                C Mike Zunino
                                1B Trent Hadler (me)
                                RF Michael Saunders
                                CF James Jones/Abraham Almonte

I'll update after the 2015 season.
