I was wondering if anyone knew why in Franchise mode you can create and edit existing players attributes and max out at 99. What is the reason for doing this and attributes regressing over time if you can just edit the character and put the attributes back up again? Or am I missing something?

With that being said, I have my own question about player PROgression. Is it randomised (albeit influenced by potential rating) or does player performance also factor into it?PSN:Xplisit21

Is there a way to give a retired number to a current player in the show? Like a Jackie Robinson rtts with no. 42?

I don't believe you can assign #42 as it has been retired from the game itself. As for numbers retired by individual teams, I am not sure as I haven't tried.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
You have to put Jackie Robinson as the name I think & as the audio name, then choose #42, & then you can go back & change the name & audio name

I believe that whoever discovered this also added that once you do this you can't edit anything else on the player or you'll lose the # again.

So maybe edit everything first, & then we can try the name trick ? Haven't tried it myself so I wouldn't know

If you quit out of a franchise mode game without saving it will that erase all of the other progress from ongoing games in the ticker?PSN:Xplisit21
