    Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)

What are the issues hampering Franchise mode, are there any? I am probably going to start over and go with Franchise mode over Season -manily because I hope to play multiple seasons and continue on 15 version so I want deeper minors - but I thought I read there was some issues causing problems in Franchise mode (could be same issues in Season mode?)

I will not control all 30 teams and whatever trades (crazy as some are) but just making sure nothing is bonkers with budgets, or a ton of great players in free agency or something with scouting.

I know to keep my 25 man roster intact, I need to sim to last day of Spring Training and drop 15 guys from the MLB roster, correct?

Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Outside of the Jackie Robinson thing which others mentioned, any numbers retired by a team in real life are also retired in the game in RTTS. I had a CF for Houston and I kept trying to give him #33, nobody on the big league roster was wearing it, but it kept changing to 36 or some other number. Finally I looked online and saw it was retired for Mike Scott. (BTW the Astros have an insane amount of retired numbers: not including #42 they've got 9 retired numbers).

In RTTS - is there any benefit to having a high salary? In other words...when I become a free agent and or go through arbitration - is there a benefit to negotiating the highest salary you can? If not -why not take the lowest salary possible so as not to hamstring your team financially?

So for changing difficulty is there a way to globally change it to Hall of Fame or do you have to change each aspect like hitting, pitching, etc.

Also is the AI hitting and fielding just based on sliders or can you change the difficulty for them to All-Star,etc.

I'm a little confused as to how to change the CPU difficulty.

          Thanks.

When do you guys usually call guys up or move them down? Is it based on how they are playing as well or you just look at ratings?

            Any tips on scouting?

Also when I get to the end of Spring Training, I make my 40 man cuts, but it seems to use an option of the player I send down. I thought the options were only used when you demote a guy in the regular season. No?

No, he won't be added by SCEA until he plays in the Majors. He's in the Hybrid roster and plenty Manny's in the Vault as well.

2 quick questions....I want to start a franchise with OSFM full minor rosters, not the opening day rosters. where in the vault would I find them, and what date file did everyone use ?? 2... im playing 1 game, simming 8 in my upcoming franchise. if I make a slight batting order change for my played game,do the simmed games go back to default batting order? any way to insert my batting order ? do I have to go into each simmed game, and manually set my batting order ?? thanx for any help !!

Is there a way to control position player fatigue throughout a franchise? I play with the Jays and Lawrie, Reyes and Cabrera get tired after 3 games or so. I know this is controlled by Durability and the above guys don't have the best track record. But there's a difference between injury and just fatigue. When healthy they don't sit every 4th day.

Anyone else have this problem, is there a way around it without changing player attributes?

Just try and give them rests at the end of games when ur either winning by a lot or losing by a lot. That way they get a lil rest every so often. That's what I do in my giants chise and it seems to limit them getting tired on long trips where there's very few days off.

Once you've created a RTTS player, I see you can edit his appearance at any time.

But you can't change his batting stance?

I don't like my original stance.

I base it on their performance over a stretch of time. I'm in the second week of May in my Phillies franchise and I just made a few tweaks to my bullpen. Sent Brad Lincoln to Triple-A as he had a 6.53 ERA in roughly 15 innings of work. Last game he pitched he gave up 5 runs in 0.2 innings. Brutal. I called up Shawn Camp who has been pitching well in Triple-A with a 1.99 ERA.

I did the same for my bench as well at the end of April. Freddy Galvis was batting under .200 for quite a stretch so I optioned him for Ronny Cedeno.

I must be looking at the wrong area then, because while in RTTS I go to edit player and it looks like I can't change my stance.

                                Maybe I'm missing something here.
