I have an issue with such awful Pickoff attempts in MLB 14 The Show. Nearly 40-50% of Pickoff attempts are unsuccessful due to a throw into the crowd (throw to high over 1B). Anyone has the same problems?

I don't know exact percentage, but I have issues with more throws ending up in the stands vs previous years.

One thing that I've done to combat it, and I'm not saying this resolves the issue, but I only use the throw over to keep them close and the normal pickoff with RH pitchers and will use all 3 pickoff attempts (keep'em close, normal, and deceptive) with LH pitchers.

This is one aspect of the game that I feel really needs to be re-done/overhauled/worked on as it seems to be completely random as to when you throw ball away or when runner is picked off.

Is it worth getting 14 the show this late on ps4? I had it for ps3 and I recently upgraded to a ps4 and no longer have it for my ps3 was wondering if it's worth buying or should I wait for 15

How much are you wanting to play baseball?
Even with the regular season done.....you might still have some interest in some of the historical rosters done by guys here...as well as a fictional set that someone is doing.

Total?...you can't see a running total.
But game to game you can track through the game log when you are on the pause screen in a game.

On all star pitching is the cup more aggressive or do they get a boost in contact and power? I have my sliders set to get ball physics almost to mvp 05 standards and don't want to tinker much if I have to.

I have a question regarding Franchise mode. I'm just starting to play this mode and I notice that on the selection screen where you are ready play and select Quick Counts, the other option for the weather is always a clear sky. Is the weather not random anymore? I remember it used to be, right?


Also, looks like the uniforms are not random as well, you have to select them manually now. I use to like it when it was CPU controlled, You didn't know what uniform the CPU would select for you as well as the weather. Maybe I'm not seeing or selecting the options for this?

Both are random.
You just have the choice to change(the weather now....uni's were previously) them at the start of the game.

I have random weather all the time. Rain, overcast, clear skies. The rain definitely adds some errors to the game.

Side note JD Martinez pulled a Conseco and the ball bounced off his head and over the wall. That was tough to take. The announcers got a laugh about it though.

Hello how do I get better plate discipline and how do I pitch with perfect release. The game makes it too hard for a casual.

For those who said the CPU doesn't sub players in during the All Star game. That is incorrect. I am currently playing the ASG right now and the CPU has been subbing in position players and pitchers since the start of the 3rd inning.

I've played 2 All-Star Games, as well as the AAA & AA all-star games in each of my 2 seasons the cpu never subbed out position players, unless pinch hitting for a batter.

Yeah I just played the All Star game earlier in my 1st season and the CPU started subbing in position players and pitchers from the 3rd inning on. There were no injuries either. I haven't played the AAA or AA ASG, but when I played the Futures Game the CPU subbed players out throughout the game.

Better plate discipline is simply that, don't press the swing button unless you are certain the pitch is down the middle of the strike zone.
(1) Drop your skill level down to rookie.
(2) Sliders ... decrease the speed of the pitch to absolutely zero.
(3) Don't swing at any pitch through the first lineup run through. Hold the controller in your hand and simply watch the pitches. Mentally, decide whether you'd swing when watching the pitches.
(4) Switch sides/teams so you're only hitting. This will give you 54 outs to work with. More practice.
(5) I use pulse pitching, practice makes perfect. Not sure which type of pitching you're using.
(6) Dominate on Rookie level before moving to the next level.

What is the definition of a casual gamer? Is a casual gamer someone who only plays the game on the weekends, or a few days during the week? I personally haven't played the game in about a week. I personally consider myself a casual gamer. I am currently playing on All Star level with a record (don't actually remember since it's been over a week) of probably 40-8 (slider setting, everything on default with the pitch speed maxed out at 100%). I might jump up to the next level or Hall of Fame mode soon to make things more challenging.
