Season started out great swept the Red Sox to open the season. That would be the highlight of April sadly. I would go 9-15 the rest of the month. Got swept in Detriot, swept by KC at home, and while I did take 3 of 4 from Boston, I couldn't do much against the rest of the teams on my schedule.

I struggled with throwing errors early and I have 30 errors to lead the Majors. My Pitching isn't "bad" I have a team ERA of 3.88 Chris Tillman leads the team with an ERA of 1.82, next best is Ubaldo Jimenez at 3.19. Been some shifting around in the bullpen (4 blown saves) as it now features 3 lefties (Britton, Matusz and Patton), 3 righties (Stinson, Meek and O'Day) plus RH Tommy Hanson in the closer role (1-0 4.70 ERA 6 saves 7Ks in 7.2 innings). Team has given up 33 home runs. I tried to fix my walk numbers by lowering pitch accuracy and consistency and its is working. I have 48 as a team, which is a much better pace than before I tweaked sliders.

Offense has been a very up and down affair. Team BA of .236. Nick Markakis is in a prolonged slump hitting just .162 in the lead off spot (his BAPIP is .172) he just can't get balls to fall. Delmon Young has been equally disappointing hitting .161 and only .194 against lefties (with a contact rating vs Lefties of 82). My team lacked speed until Ryan Flaherety got hurt and I brought up Jemile Weeks, in 27 ABs he is hitting .370 and has an OBP .485 and 3 of the teams 7 stolen bases.

The power is starting to show though, Nelson Cruz has 8 HRs but only 15 RBIs as I can't get guys on infront of him, Chris Davis has 6, Matt Wieters also has 6 and has driven in 20 RBIs. JJ Hardy has gotten hot over the past week and raised his avarage from below .200 to .240. Hopefully the rest can keep it up.

So the record is 14-15 two games into May, in which I have started out 2-0 taking two from the Twins. Sit 5.5 games behind the first place Rays at 21-11. Team is 3.5 games out of the AL Wild Card. I have put Bud Norris and Miguel Gonzalez on the trade block, looking for an everyday 2B and/or an upgrade in the bull pen. I have Kevin Gausman in AAA Norfolk ready to come up. He went 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA 37K and 14 BB in 42 innings. Behind him is Dylan Bundy 2-2 4.01 40Ks 15 BB in 33.2 innings. Hunter Harvey is holding his own in AA he threw 42 innings for Bowie and was also 2-2 2.79 ERA which is pretty good considering how terrible the AA team is.
In the last game I played in my Rays franchise, I faced Chris Tillman and the Orioles. Tillman pitched a complete game 1 hit shutout. He had a no hitter going into the 9th inning, and I broke up the no-no with a single to CF with Jose Molina.

I don't know what it is about Chris Tillman in The Show. I have NEVER been able to hit him.

Well my Astros had a successful Spring Training.

Mike Foltynewicz and Paul Clemens won the final two spots in the rotation. Mark Appel had a better spring training than Clemens, but I felt it necessary to have him start in AAA. We'll see if he can show consistent success down there.

Carlos Correa had a good Spring, but like Appel, I felt like I needed to start him in AAA. If Furcal struggles and Correa continues his success in the minors, I won't hesitate to move him up.

Singleton TORE IT UP in spring. George Springer did as well. Our best hitter, though, was my Designated Hitter free agent signee, Aramis Ramirez. He showed a ton of power.

That delivery is very hard to time... He is also tremendously hard to pitch with

Finally opened up the the season with my Dodgers winning 8-0. Kershaw pitched a 1-hit shutout. Had the no-no going until the 8th. I blame my wife for talking to me which I was somewhat not focused and gave up a blooper over the SS head

Great opening day I must say!!

Anyone playing with Pittsburgh? If so, I'm 8 games through and can not get Alvarez hitting at all?? Any suggestions?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

The 2015 season couldn't have started off any better for my Houston Astros. We had to start the season with a 3-game series against the defending AL West champions Oakland Athletics. This team went through a little bit of everything in this series alone...

First Game: Matt Dominguez scored the first run of the season on a solo home run in the 2nd inning of the game. 2 innings later Jon Singleton joined the party hitting his own solo home run. That gave us a 2-0 lead going into the 5th inning. Jarred Cosart pitched a GEM for 7 innings, giving up only 1 earned run and striking out 8 batters. Unfortunately, he ended up with a no decision after Jesse Crain gave up the one run lead in the 8th inning on a home run by Josh Donaldson. Just when it looked like this could be the Astros of old, they quickly put that idea to rest in the bottom of the 8th, scoring two runs to take a 4-2 lead back. Chad Qualls slammed the door shut for the Astros first win of the season.

Second Game: How would these new Astros respond after getting down early? That was the question of the day in the 2nd game of the series. Oakland jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead while Brett Oberholtzer struggled to find the strike zone. The bats were quiet for 5 innings, and it looked like Oakland might run away with it... but proving further that this is a different Houston Astros than the past two years, this team answered in a BIG way. They reeled off 3 runs in each of the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings to win this game 10-3.

Third Game: George Springer has officially arrived! He may have played the entire season for the Houston Astros in 2014, but this seems to be a completely different animal. In the 4th inning, with the bases loaded, George Springer came up to bat and he sent a fastball deep for his first Grand Slam of his career. That gave the Astros a 5-1 lead. It would stay that way until the 9th inning. Heath Bell came into the game to try to finish it off, but instead, he gave up 4 runs to send the game into extra innings. In the 11th inning, Oakland walked Delino De Shields. He stole second base, then moved to 3rd on a deep fly ball to the outfield, and finally scored the walk-off run on a Dexter Fowler single to right field.

We start this season 3-0. The last time the Astros started a season 3-0 was in 2001. They won the NL Central with a 93-69 record that season.

In mid-June in my Rays franchise. Currently sit 3rd in the AL East and hold the 2nd WC spot as of now.

DeJesus is tearing it up right now. Hitting like .345 and have an OBP of .430

ELO is struggling mightily. Currently hitting .218 with an OBP of around .290

Chris Archer started cold and was 0-5 early on. He is now 5-6, so he has rebounded quite well.

My biggest issue is having one bad inning that kills me during games. No trades made and don't really see any happening as long as we are holding on to a WC spot.

The Yankees entire roster is on the trading block right now. Currently they are 4th in the AL East and have been treading water for some time.

In Mid-June and sitting on top of the NL Central Standings with the Reds 3.0GB.

We just finished a series with the Mets where we completed 3 walk-off wins(one in 18 innings).

Bullpen has been shaky all season and Rosenthal hasn't been as reliable as I would've hoped, but we continue to win games due to outstanding starting pitching and timely hitting.

Not sure if I'll make any trades as I really like the lineup I put out everyday and our bench is solid. If anything I may try to find a reliable arm for the pen but thus far there's nothing out there.

Sitting at 15-16 with Phillies in my first season. Just beat the Nats last night 6-5, Cliff Lee of all folks started off the runs with a HR then Chase followed with a 3 run bomb. Nats battled back but Pap shut them down in the 9th.

So was trying to set up 30 team control but keep 29 other teams operating as if the cpu was controlling them but when I go into the options in franchise mode to do it and change the options for any single team it does it across the board for all 30 teams. I set the Yankees for user controll everything but then it adjusted that setting for all 30, same with setting the cpu controls.

                              EDIT: nevermind, got it
