In the playoffs with the Pads. Swept the Dodgers in the NLDS. Cashner pitched game 3 and threw the best game I might have ever had. Complete game shutout with 16 K's allowing only 3 hits. Just a dominant performance against a very tough team with hot hitting Kemp, A-Gon and Crawford.

Puig didn't even get a hit which was quite the surprise. That dude is one tough out.

2014 Mariners Franchise 36-26 (no simming played every game. No quick counts either)

1.5 up on the Rangers and 2.0 on the Athletics.

End of May I had an 8 game losing streak, but snapped out of it the last few days of May. Took 2-4 from the Angels. Took 2-3 from the Tigers. Went 2-0 against the Braves. I am currently up 2-1 in a 4 game set on the Rays. In game 2 I threw a NO HITTER with Felix Hernandez. 1st ever no no I've thrown in any baseball game I've owned. I struck out 11 in that game.

      Notable Stats

      Felix Hernandez 7-3 2.23 ERA
      Taijuan Walker 6-3 2.32 ERA

      Robinson Cano 19HRS 45RBI .306
      Kyle Seager 11HRS 34RBI .319
      Kendrys Morales 17HRS 50RBI .296
      Corey Hart 18HRS 41RBI .313

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

After the Marlins swept my Mets 3 games to start September....I'm now 5.5 back of the Nats...and holding a slim 1.5 game lead in the WC slot.
I need for some of my bats to get rolling ....and have Wheeler/Gee/Niese get going again. I've given up on Colon turning in good starts.

After taking a break, I restarted my Braves dynasty tonight. With one out in the first, Scooter Gennett singled just inside the third-base line. And that was it for the Brewers offense.

          Medlen: 9 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 9 K.

Can't believe I came that close to a perfect game on Opening Day.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Mid-May 2015 in my Marlins franchise.

The Marlins continue their strong start to season, getting out to a 25-11 start and leading the Braves by 4 1/2 games.

The offense continue to click even with the HR pace cooling off. The team is 2nd in MLB in runs scored but 13th in HR.

The reason is the plethora of doubles and triples the team has been getting so far. The team is 6th in doubles and 2nd in triples to this point. Yelich has been the doubles king on the team with 10 while Taylor has 5 triples...though he's not picked up one so far in the month of May.

Also helping the cause is Chris Taylor's 16 SB. His aggressive play at the top of the lineup has done a lot so far as he looks to grow from a decent rookie campaign.

The pitching has been overshadowed a bit by the buzz created from actually seeing offense from the Marlins, but the team ERA is 3.06, good enough for 6th in MLB.

Fernandez and Heaney continue to be excellent at the top of the rotation while a resurgence from Henderson Alvarez rounds out the top three. Fernandez has the highest ERA of the trio...at 2.89.

It's not all been rosy from the mound, though. Joel Hanrahan has been a complete failure and has been placed on waivers. Should he pass, he'll be trying to get out of the dog house in New Orleans.

On top of that, Cishek has gone down with an injury that could sideline him for more than four weeks. This has put the back of the bullpen in flux. Capps moved to the closer role (where he passed his first test by helping the team cling to a 5-4 win after Hanrahan's lastest failure on the mound) while Ramos returns from AAA to take a setup slot. Josh Spence was also called up and will get action in the setup role as a late-inning lefty, though he and Matt Reynolds might end up swapping places.

            Marlins Top 10 prospect rankings

            1. SP Tyler Kolek (AA, 37.2 IP, 43 H, 3.35 ERA, 14 BB 45 K) - Kolek remains "country strong" as he continues to make progress in AA. Overall command is still his biggest weakness, but the flashes of dominance are there. His BABIP allowed is .414 (pointing to those command issues) but he still has a 3.35 ERA since he strikes out so many batters and hasn't given up the long ball.

            2. SP Damian Boeve (AA, 25.1 IP, 33 H, 6.75 ERA, 13 BB, 12 K) - He's not quite lived up to the hype just yet, but his pitches are probably the most advanced of any one below AAA. It's just a matter of him turning his stuff into results. His velocity has already been climbing rapidly, further increasing the excitement around him.

            3. SP Justin Nicolino (AAA, 49.1 IP, 32 H, 2.19 ERA, 10 BB, 39 K) - Nicolino's stock has risen significantly with his early performance. After looking as though he may have peaked, this performance gives new hope for further upside. Nicolino is probably ready to be tested at the Majors. Should Brian Flynn falter enough, and he's had a few issues crop up, Nicolino might get the chance as 5th starter...

            4. 3B Colin Moran (MLB, 106 AB, .302/.327/.406) - So far, Moran's rookie campaign at the plate can be summed up as follows: hit or strikeout. Right now, he's getting enough hits and playing solid defense to make up for his inability to take a walk and his sky-high strikeout rate.

            5. OF Matt Baldwin (AA, 60 AB, .233/.270/.350 - currently injured) - Baldwin has been improving his skills faster than his play prior to his injury indicates. Matt has been working hard and continues to do so with his rehab. The questions for Matt are: Will he develop power vs RHP? How much will his overall bat control improve? Is this injury the sign of more injuries to come?

            6. IF/OF Jose Campos (AA, 81 AB, .272/.372/.432) - The versatile Campos could be on the fast track if he keeps up his solid hitting. He's a gap hitter that gets the bat on the ball frequently and should have an eye that would translate into walks in the bigs. Defensively, he can make the routine plays pretty much anywhere on the field, but the arm will limit him to 2B on the infield and maybe LF in the outfield until it improves.

            7. C Tommy Cruz (AA, currently injured) - Cruz is expected to be on the shelf for a while longer with an injury he suffered in the first couple days of the AA season, but his rehab is going decently. Cruz is basically a major league catcher at the plate. It's behind the plate were there's issues. He has a strong arm with average accuracy, but his receiving and blocking skills are really undeveloped. That's where his coaches will need to buckle down on Cruz.

            8. SP Anthony DeSclafani (AAA, 54.1 IP, 41 H, 1.33 ERA, 11 BB, 37 K) - DeSclafani's mixed bag stint at the majors has him languishing in AAA in favor of Michael Feliz and Brian Flynn. However, more success like this would be a game-changer for DeSclafani. He's showing a marked improvement in his results, and that might earn him a few second looks if it continues.

            9. Adam Conley (AAA, 45 IP, 51 H, 3.60 ERA, 13 BB, 36 K) - Like DeSclafani, Conley probably should be given a chance at the major league level, and, unlike DeSclafani, his stint in the majors was above average in terms of ERA. That said, his performance in AAA hasn't been anything special (though not bad either), and that's not going to help him crack the rotation by his own performance.

            10. 1B Freddie Aquino (AA, 33 AB, .121/.293/.212) - Aquino might be overmatched at AA Jacksonville, but the allure of his switch-hitting power potential is keeping him in play, along with the fact that he's still a teenager (18) helps the team be forgiving of his warts. He hasn't seen too much action with Jacksonville, something that needs to change.

Dark Horse: SP Jeff Bolton - Bolton is attempting to learn the knuckleball given his lack of any real velocity. He and Steven Wright have been working on the pitch together as both try to make it to the majors in some capacity. Bolton's skill set is as weird as a knuckleball itself. He might have potential for command, which would further round out the finesse lefty profile he's got going. However, he just can't locate in the zone at all right now. If he can make it work, he might come out of nowhere, but it's hard to see right now - though scouts seem optimistic about this kid for some reason...

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

I have reached the All-Star Break (won the homerun derby with Yadier Molina who was invited!). We are in the midst of a struggle at this point. Break couldn't come at a better time for our club, who has lost 8 of its last 10 and watched the Cubs and Reds (who traded for Nelson Cruz) both get within 5 games (Cubs 2 GB, Reds 4.5GB)

We sent 3 players to the mid-summer classic, SP Adam Wainwright, C Yadier Molina, and OF Oscar Tavaras.

Going to play the game tonight along with the AAA All-Star Game, and then resume the regular season tomorrow.

Ooof...nobody wants this in New York.
The entire squad is so hum-drum....I want to strangle them!
Losing 2 of 3 to Cincy...(was leading in both of those losses! ) puts us 6.5 behind Washington and clinging to a 2.0 lead in the WC spot.
S.F.....after looking totally out of it is coming on strong(Posey is killing it....)
New York...Cincy...St. Louis....S.F. and S.D. are all neck and neck for the two WC spots.
Washington...Cincy/St. Louis and L.A. N look to have the divisions(L.A. no doubt....12.5 up on the rest)
Trout has cooled off...but can still take the Triple Crown in the A.L. He's leading in HR and RBI(35/109) but 10 points behind in BA. That might be a tough one...but possible.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Played the All-Star Game last night. Lost to the American League 2-1. I had three representatives in the game, with Adam Wainwright being the NL starter. I only had him throw one inning, since Mat Latos and Homer Bailey were both on the team, and with them being hometown players, I wanted to have them pitch, although Bailey would've been the lowest voted Starter. So I had all 5 starters throw in the game, one inning each.

Now we travel to San Francisco to take on a surging Giants team that has one 7 of its last 10. Hopefully we can get out of this rut and get back to winning baseball and extend the lead in the Central over the Cubs and Reds.

Split a 4 game set with the Rays. I have taken the first 2 games of a 3 game set against the Yankees. I just blew up Chris Capuano. Called up James Paxton to take the 5 spot. He pitched 8 innings and gave up 4 runs.

Kendrys Morales now has 18HRS 55RBI leads both leagues in RBI and is tied for 3rd in homeruns in the AL.

CPU made a trade as well.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

We just took 2 of 3 from the Giants in the first series after the All-Star Break. We scored a total of 6 runs in this series, so our pitching is most definitely carrying the load at the moment.

Next up is a 12 game homestand that starts with Dodgers. I am currently leading 2-0 in the 5th, as play was suspended due to inclement weather at my house.

With 2 weeks til the trade deadline, I am still trying to determine what, if any moves need to be made. We at times look as though we could get the World Series without issue and then other times we look as if we couldn't win the Little League World Series.

BoSox, Indians, and Mariners have each fired the first bullet post All-Star Break as they make the push for the playoffs.

Update of the Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies.

I played 3 Mlb games with my Mariners, 1 AAA game with the Rainiers and 1 MLB game with my cousins Phillies last night.

In my first game Chad Billingsley 1 hit me thru 7. He may not be as sharp now but when he gets it rolling it's pretty thought to stop. Games like this I wish I could go into detail more in Batter analysis to show how tight his pitches were in key situations. Threading the needle. Jameson Tailon wasn't as accurate not that he usually is but he struck out the first 5 batters straight. Then scattered 4 more Ks over the next 5 innings to turn in 7 ip with 0 runs. He was shaky but it went in his favor. We end up scratching 1 across for a 1-0 win. The previous game was 2-1. Lineup has been having a hard time.

Game 2 I Threw Carlos Contreras. He was tagged early for 2 runs. It was 2-0 in the Fifth. Carlos had to come out in the 6th. Danny Hultzen my ULTRA reliever/ starter comes in and works out of a 2nd and 3rd no out situation. With no harm done. Then my bats come ALIVE. I had a mix mash lineup and it felt weird. Back up catcher, 1st base , 2nd basemen, and Jay Bruce in Center. Silly I know. But Harper is a few days away from being fully healed sitting on bench. There starter was coasting thru my team then in a span of 5 minutes base hit , HOMER , HOMER , HOMER. Viciedo , Gyorko , Josmil Pinto lol up 4-2. Those 3 musketeers came thru again each with solo homers again !! I'm up 7-2. Really ?? Lol. Well Hultzen takes it to the 9th 7-2 doing yeomans?? Work out of the bullpen lol. Well the 9th the tides turned. 3 pitchers 6 runs for Houston. I'm now down 8-7. What ? I get the bases loaded and guess who comes to the dish ? Josmil Pinto it's a done deal I feel. He hit sliders or curves for homers earlier so I sit on one and send it over the fence for the Grand Salami unlock and the win. 3 hrs for Pinto , 2 for Gyorko , and 2 for Viciedo. I guess the line up needed a shake up. Kelvin Herrera got the win for his 6th out of the bullpen. All homers with X button Square was way off all game.

AAA game I played at Old Smokey park ?? The ivy in center and 420 ft fence. I hit 1 inside the parker to right center and 2 triples with Miguel Sano. My center fielder missed one in right center to give up a inside the Parker with 2 outs and they piled on 2 more runs in that inning for a 3 run two out rally because my cf dropped it. Got the with with Seth Blair. I jus swapped Drew Pomeranz for him.

The Phillies game I put in a sub lineup so his team be ready to go next game when he could play. Plus no off day on the Horizon so got players rest. I was throwing Jared Cosart. He had a perfect game in the 6th. He took a comebacker and we still got the out But Cosart will be out 3-4 weeks :/ I text my cousin the news. Sorry bro. Other than that it was a good win and players got rested.

The next game was full of Stanton Bombs as the rest of the team got their bats working. JAime Garcia pitched good. Garin Cechini continues to put in good abs and jus barely scratching by on defense. I hope when Harper comes back Cechini can play 3rd a little more. This game is a little hazy as it was ab 12:30 am.
