Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

I just started a Franchise. I chose to be St. Louis with a Fantasy Draft.

Here is what I ended up with (Cardinals had the 25th pick)

    Starters
    RF Yasiel Puig
    CF Ben Revere
    LF Josh Willingham
    1B Adam LaRoche
    2B Mark Ellis
    SS Elvis Andrus
    3B Manny Machado
    C Jonathon Lucroy

    Backups
    Yorvit Torrealba
    Kevin Frandson
    Darin Ruf
    Joc Pederson

    Staring Pitching
    RA Dickey
    Michael Wacha
    Masahiro Tanaka
    AJ Burnett
    Wandy Rodriguez

    Relievers
    Matt Guerrier
    Jason Frasor
    John Stilson
    Daniel Bard
    Luis Ayala
    Vinnie Pestano
    Randy Choate

    Closer
    Joe Nathan

I have started out at 4-1. I started at experienced and crushed the ball the first 3 games on Veteran so I upped the hitting difficulty to All-Star. Fourth game (first on all-star) I lost 5-2 and then I came back on game 5 (I forgot quick counts on this one) I won 5-2.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

I am now sitting at 13-9 after hitting a rough patch with my bullpen and offense. I have had a lead or been tied late in the last 2 games of the Phillies series only to watch my lead disappear. And it seems like everyone not named Hanley Ramirez, Matt Kemp, or Justin Turner has been struggling.

Thankfully, after Brian Wilson gave up a 3 run HR to Marlon Byrd (second time in two nights he has done this), I rallied to take the lead after a Hanley double and SVS single. And thankfully Kenley has been lights out as a closer.

I have one more game with the Phillies and Kershaw is on the hill. I want to win very badly, as I have a three game set coming up with Colorado who is 19-4 and on a 12 game winning streak.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Things have definitely turned the corner in my Phillies and Rays franchises. I'm currently on a 6 game winning streak with the Phillies (6-4) after starting the season 0-4, and am on a 5 game winning streak with the Rays (7-5).

I just crushed the Reds in my Rays franchise 12-4. Ben Zobrist has been hotter than hell lately after starting the season very poorly. In this game, Zobrist went 4-5 with 3 doubles, a home run, 3 runs scored, 1 walk, and 5 RBI. 2 games into this 3 game series with the Reds, Zobrist is 7-10 with 3 doubles, 3 home runs, 5 runs scored, and 7 RBI. Over his last 10 games, Zobrist is batting .400 with 16 hits, 4 home runs, and 11 RBI. Clutch!

1 game left in the series with the Reds and then it's onto Baltimore for a 3 game series before heading home for a 7 game homestand against the Yankees and Twins.

The Phillies have 2 more games against the Marlins before welcoming in the Braves for a 3 game set. Then a 10 game road trip against the Rockies, Dodgers, and Diamondbacks.

Hope both teams can continue to play this well.

So frustrated .. We're not hitting the ball when we need to , stranding runners, pitching bad.. We're slumping ..

Just lost 2 of 3 from Tampa including a 5-4 loss in 18 innings.. I blew the save in the 9th, tied it and we played pretty much another 9 inning game before Tampa scored 3 in the top of the 18th. Bottom half of the inning I ground out and fly out right away .. Double by Ellsbury, double by Beltran it's 7-5.. Base hit for McCann it's 7-6 .. Solarte walked, drew walked . Bases loaded.. Strike out looking low and outside.

The 2nd game.. Just couldn't get to Archer .. As we got beat 2-1..

I was dominating with Robertson in my franchise. I was 12 for 12 in saves with a zero era and then proceeded to blow the first save with a balk, and the 2nd consecutive blown save the night after.

Is it cheating if I do a fantasy draft and pick a bunch of young prospects with A potential and then trade them away for good players to add to my arsenal?

I like doing fantasy drafts but I feel like I'm cheating.

How do you guys do fantasy drafts? Any ground rules you go by?

It's your game to play whatever way you choose to do so. So no, it's not cheating. All that matters is if it's fun for you.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

I'm now 4-1 on the season with the Royals. My lone loss came with Ventura pitching and I missed my spot with a 99mph fastball to Torii Hunter, and he proceeded to destroy a 3-run HR. I lost 3-0 that game because Anibal Sanchez was dealing. I ended up with 4 hits, two of them coming in the 9th.

Also, I had my most exciting game of the season in the 4th game of the season against the White Sox. Tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 8th, I got two guys on with two outs and Moustakas proceeded to hit a 3-run blast to RCF. Ended up winning 4-1 and got Holland his 2nd save of the season.

This is easily the most fun franchise mode I've ever played. Coming from the XBOX and 2k, I'm completely blown away with the level of detail inside of this mode. If I even have the slightest desire to do anything, it's available for me to do.

Well, except firing Ned Yost. Stupid 2 year deals worth $4 mil.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

So I finished my 2014 season.

After a 75-87 season in 2014, the Astros are looking to take another step forward. 2014 was a bit of a surprise for everyone, but when the die hard Astros fans heralded the front office for trading for young talent, 2015 was the year they pointed to as the possible turning point.

This is the year we should see many of the prospects make an impact at the big league level. George Springer, Jon Singleton and Domingo Santana were given the opportunity last season with decent success. Many others will be given a chance this season.

This year, Carlos Correa, Mark Appel, Delino De Shields, Lance McCullers, Ronald Torreyes, and Mike Foltynwicz will get a look in Spring Training. Foltynwicz, Paul Clemens and Kingham will fight for a spot in the rotation.

This season will play a major part in the future of the organization. If these prospects live up to their expectations, then the Astros could be set for contention for a long time.

I'll will be updating after Spring Training.

After 9 games in my Cubs Franchise the Northsiders are 5-4. My offense is horrific! The only thing saving me is my pitching. Also, I just lost 2 top prospects, C.J Edwards(SP-AA) for 1-2 months and Albert Almora (OF-AA) for 6 months!

The Cubs have an amazing farm system if you're using the OSFM roster.

Just annilated the Angels to sweep. McCann went deep 3 times in the series, Jeter twice, Ellsbury 4 times and my guy Soriano 2 times. 5-1,9-3, and 7-4. Now 23-10 I believe on the year, leading the East by 3 games. Now some Interleague play against the Brewers and Mets.
